  • The cabin is very well maintained and clean. Our little ones loved it and said when we come back to Tahoe they want this cabin!

  • This place is awesome - way bigger than pictures were able to prepare us for. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen was able to handle our crowd with ease, and the overall location is perfect. The short walk to Speedboat Beach is not only a killer amenity, but it's also like having direct access to a hidden beach with a minimal crowd.

With our mix of adults, and children ranging from 18mo to 7yo, the space was never a problem; there were plenty of beds and dishes, etc. Surprisingly, the noise was minimal thanks to the overall layout and ability to spread out if needed, but we also loved that we could all gather in the main living area as a group.

Close to multiple beaches, shopping, mountain bike trails, and various hikes - this place is perfect for any activity or just sitting around on the deck and chilling out! We'll definitely be coming back, and I'm already looking for dates to book this place again!

  • The cabin is beautiful and spacious - great for large families. We had up to 8 adults and 4 children during our week and the layout worked well for everyone. However, the house is right on the very busy main road and the traffic noise is constant, even at night. (Walking on the road is pretty safe, though - the shoulders are very wide). The back yard is securely fenced in and safe for pets. But there is no access to it from the back of the house, so you have to go through the garage or down the front stairs and around from the front of the house to get to the yard and if you are shorter than 5'2" you can't reach the latch for the gate. Also, the yard is rocky, so not good for toddlers or any ball games. It's great for pets and adults to lounge in though (the trees and birds around the house are awesome!) The nearby beach is terrific for all ages. We had lots of large water gear (paddle boards, paddles, baby stuff, etc.) so usually one of us drove to the beach and dropped off our stuff, drove home, and walked back. (Unless we were lucky enough to find parking there). Everyone else walked (including a 3 year old and his mom carrying or pushing an infant). Good location for hiking, restaurants, other shops. Shondra was very responsive to all our questions and comments.

  • Shondra's place was just perfect for our family. There were 10 of us and an infant and we never felt stacked on top of each other. There was plenty of space and the location was ideal; close to town and a short, quiet walk to the lake. This is a great place if you're looking for a place for your mid-size family to gather.

  • This house was beauuuuuuutiful. I had pretty high expectations, and this house surpassed them. I was organizing a bachelorette party for a sister who was inviting a bunch of people who didn't know each other. From her requirements, I was looking for the following:

    - High open main area that encouraged mixing and mingling (and didn't separate people into different cliques) (CHECK!)
    - Kitchen open to hangout area since we'd be cooking food and preparing drinks, but not wanting to isolate folks in kitchen (CHECK!)
    - Modern and slick interior and appliances (SUPER CHECK!)
    - Comfortable sleeping accommodations for a dozen fussy ladies (CHECK!)
    - Walk to the beach (CHECK!)

Met all those needs and more. The driveway had enough space, seriously awesome bar (Mellow Fellow) and decent casino are walking distance, lots of restaurants just a 2 minute cab ride down the street. SO ideal for a mellow bachelorette party.

Not to mention Shondra was awesome. She outlined her (very reasonable) expectations clearly from the get go, she always quickly responded to my inquiries, and was overall very pleasant to work with and quite helpful.

  • The cabin was great! Location was awesome; just a short walk to the lake, nearby casinos, stores, etc.. Me and my friends really enjoyed our weekend stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were well stocked, and the kitchen offered an array of necessities for making a great meal. Shondra was a wonderful host; prompt communication. The cabin is exactly what is seen in the pictures. Would definitely stay here again!

  • We had blast! The house is in a awesome location and had literally had everything thing we need close by. When we arrived at the house we noticed that the house was extremely nice and clean.very comfortable and spacious. One little bad thing was about the room by the garage was really cold even with the heater on but I would just recommend bringing extra blankets. Also the directions on airbnb doesn't match with the actual address and it was kind difficult to find the house because it was extremely dark.i would add a light outside by the house number to make it easier to find. But over all we had a great experience.

    Response from Shondra:

Thank you for staying with us Thiago, we'd love to have you back anytime! We've taken your suggestions and added lots of thick, warm blankets to the downstairs bedroom as well as added suggestions to the cabin binder on how to adjust the upstairs heating vents to keep the downstairs bedroom warm. We also just noticed that the cabin address is not coming up correctly in (website hidden) maps and have begun sending directions out to all of our future guests. Thanks again!

  • The lodge was beautiful and a great place to have a group of friends hang out in terms of configuration. Large common area and open kitchen. The place was well stocked with supplies and amenities. It was a little tough to find given that (website hidden) Maps placed it somewhere else but not the fault of the place (it's about half a mile down further on the left). We had a few questions during our stay and Shondra was very responsive and addressed them quickly. The downstairs area was a little chilly so a couple extra blankets might be helpful if you're going to fill up to capacity. Definitely recommend!

    Response from Shondra:

Thanks for staying with us Ivan! We'll definitely take your recommendation and stock up the downstairs bedroom with some additional blankets.

  • Shondra's Lodge was perfect for our weekend getaway. It had modern amenities, plenty of sleeping space and cozy communal areas. All that AND it's close to old-school casinos.

The cabin was a little difficult to find (and we drove up in a blizzard) so make sure to ask for specific directions- the address is completely wrong in the GPS (wrong side of the road, wrong part of the road) and I recommend driving up during daylight.

The location is perfect (short drive to Safeway for supplies).

All in all, it was an excellent weekend due in large part to our accommodations. We'll definitely be returning!

My husband and I completed construction of our Tahoe cabins in 2007 after living in Tahoe for two years. We've recently relocated to Wine Country, but still love to visit Lake Tahoe with our two kids and two Bernese Mountain Dogs.
