Pocono Swiss House -
Swiss House is a newly renovated single family house on over an acre of land in Tannersville, PA right at the foot of Camelback Mountain. We've named it the Orchard for the big apple trees in the yard.
The house has 3 comfortable bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining room, living room, 2.5 baths, a hot tub, and a carpeted gameroom downstairs. The new bedroom and dining room furniture give the house a warm but modern feel.
Our house is 4 minutes to the Camelback Ski Lodge and CamelBeach waterpark, so you can come back for a quick lunch or whatever else you may need to do in the middle of the afternoon.

Myself and a few close friends just had a fantastic weekend at Swiss House Pocono! Tom and Lisa are great--very responsive to emails and were great in providing a list of activities, restaurants, ski resorts, etc. in the area. The house itself is also great and has all the basic necessities you could need and then some!! Thanks Tom and Lisa for accommodating us and we hope to return again sometime!!
Our group, which consists of 3 families and two young children, was more than comfortable in this home. All the photos are accurate and amenities correct as listed. Our two night stay was so relaxed, and the parents in the group were grateful for how "kid-friendly" the place is (nothing for the kids to get into and mess up)! We did a bit of local exploring but the first night spent hours playing Sing Star on the PS2. So fun!! All 8 of us fit comfortably in the home and had plenty of space. There are just two showers, but it was never a problem for our group. The bathroom in the finished basement is HUGE (and has a washer dryer) and the bathroom upstairs is also thoughtfully laid out. Most importantly, Tom & Lisa keep their property SUPER clean and organized--and are easy to communicate with, even during the stay. We will definitely stay here if we're ever back in the area!
A couple things to note: If you're a "chef" and plan to do some serious cooking, be mindful that the kitchen has basic tools, nothing extravagant, and you will need to bring ALL your own food items (even spices, etc.). Also, don't bother with the local brewery nearby. The brews aren't very good and the food was sub-par. One food suggestion: We drove to Pocono Pines (12 min away) for breakfast at a place called Jubilee. So good! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at a great value. Totally recommend it!
We're glad the house fit your family so well. You picked up on all the things that Lisa and I try to focus on, particularly keeping the house clean - that's why we clean the house ourselves instead of having a service do it for us.
Sorry that the nearby brewery didn't work out so well - but we're thankful for the Pocono Pines recommendation. Lisa and I will give it a try sometime soon so we can recommend it to future guests.
BTW - you guys were awesome guests. We truly appreciate the extra effort you made to leave the house in nice condition so we could clean it for the next guests. I can't tell you how much we appreciate that!
Tom and Lisa have a lovely home that really makes you feel like a welcome guest. A group of 8 of us traveled to the Poconos for the Tough Mudder and with hotel rates being so outrageous for the weekend we looked at renting a home for the weekend. The Swiss House was perfect for us - ample space for everyone but still cozy and comfortable! It was so nice being able to cook and eat meals together, watch tv, play games, and just sit around and talk - something we definitely could not have done if we all stayed in separate hotel rooms! Our sore muscles also greatly appreciated teh hot tub on the back deck. Tom and Lisa made the check-in/check-out process super easy, and were quick to reply to any questions I had via email. We will definitely be back for another stay at the Swiss House!
This is an awesome house and an amazing rental experience overall. As other reviewers have mentioned, Tom does a great job of covering all of the details from how to get there to how everything in the house works to providing recommendations on restaurants and other stuff to do. The kitchen is excellent, there are tons of board games, great beds and a quiet location. We were in the Poconos for the Tough Mudder race and Tom even left us a bottle of Advil to help with bumps and bruises! The Swiss House folks really know what they're doing and this should be your first choice if you're looking to stay in the area.
