We look forward to hosting you!
The room, the en-suite bathroom, the outdoor terrace and of course the entrance hall of the house.
Interaction with Guests
Contact at check-in of course. After that, it differs per guest.
It's a residential area in the old town but everything that makes Amsterdam special is within walking distance. A supermarket that's open seven days per week till 10 pm, cafes, restaurants and breakfast places are all within the direct environment of the house.
A tram stop is only 200 metres away.
Respectful towards the house, to me and the housemates and the neighbours.
It's a non-smoking room.
In general, it's not a party house.
I had a great time at my first AirBnB experience. William was very nice and greeted me when I arrived. The room looked just like the pictures and was clean and organized. The balcony overlooking courtyard was beautiful. The location is great, quiet and safe feeling and easy walk to tram. I would stay here again.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!!!! ... es war ausgesprochen schön mit der Terasse, dem Kaffee, der gemütlichen Matraze, dem eigenen Bad und der ganzen Atmosphäre.
I was looking for nice comfortable private room with bathroom in a good area of Amsterdam at a good value . As I have been to Amsterdam in past and l love this area . Host available any issues as lives on lower floor . Airy , very comfortable including bed , private , great expresso maker in room and host provided coffee. Found all I was looking for . Very pleased with stay and would think twice prior to renting any other place. Steep spiral staircase to second floor would be issue if any ambulatory problems.
Lovely room with nice sunny deck. Bed great, could have done with more pillows. Room well set up but would suggest you get bigger towels in bathroom. We didn't realise there would be a narrow, steep winding staircase to get to our room. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who has issues with stairs. Great location, handy to centre of Amsterdam. William away for our visit, nice lady let us in and showed us around but then a bit lost for someone to ask basic questions.
We never actually met William, who was away that weekend, but he arranged for a friend to meet us at the house and show us the room. The room is in a shared house but is totally private and secure to its guests - it is really lovely! It is spacious and quiet as advertised and the photos and description are very accurate.
The whole room and bathroom were immaculately clean and everything worked as advertised. For those who like a good night's sleep the bed is super-comfortable, the linens are crisp and the pillows plush. The window has black out blinds behind the curtains so those of you with jet lag need not worry about catching up on sleep. There was a very generous supply of tea and Nespresso coffee and delicious biscuits. The roof terrace is as lovely as it sounds. It had full sun at midday and looks out over gardens.
The house itself is very quiet - you don't hear the other residents. The whole canal district is peaceful in fact - there are very few cars in the the area, most people walk or cycle. You really can hear a pin drop. We were unlucky on the first night as the house next door was having a very full on party and there were guests smoking and chatting in the yard outside our room until 3am. This led to an awkward moment the next morning when one of William's housemates accused us of partying all night and using their living room. He quickly apologised when we explained about the party and the people in the shared yard (which accesses said living room) - we really are such a boring married couple, so we were a little flattered that he thought we could have been so wild! He confirmed what we suspected - that the party was a very unusual event and the area is normally completely tranquil - which it certainly was the next night.
As for the area - getting here was amazingly easy from Schipol (William gives fantastic directions). Within 5 minutes walk from the house you have the choice of numerous cafes, antiques shops and boutiques. 10mins and you'll be enjoying the pubs in Rembrandt Square. A 25 min walk or a short tram ride and you'll be in the centre.
Just half a kilometer from here is the Waldorf Astoria and I have to say - save your pennies and get a better room here! Thanks William for a wonderful experience - it really made for an excellent weekend.
Super chambre pour un séjour dans cette jolie ville.
Le logement est parfaitement situé, près de tout.
William est un hôte agréable et très arrangeant !
A recommander :)
I enjoyed my stay very much, with the room exactly as shared. Clean, comfortable, a balcony and nespresso, it was a lovely home to come back to. Great location and definitely recommended. William was really helpful and even found me a vase when he saw I got flowers from the market. :)
Living happily in Amsterdam since 1992, our house in the centre has become home to me and my housemates.
We are always keen to accommodate visitors to this beautiful city in the best room of the house.
