Situated in the most beautiful part of Ireland. Secluded but very near the charming village of Sneem. Experience the Irish way of life in a traditional farmhouse with all of the amenities.

We, 3 kids and 3 adults, stayed 3 days at Valley of the Hare. It was a wonderful experience to stay in Susan's fantastic cottage which would really deserve an architectural award. The fotos provided in the ad do by far not reflect the excellency of this cottages interior! Modern, clean, intelligent room layout, breathtaking views - acutally there would be no need to leave this cottage, its already a sight by itself. Anyhow, of course it is also a perfect location to visit all the sights close by: Ring of Kerry, Garnish Island, Ring of Dingle,.... And Susan really did a lot to make us comfortable: a generous welcome package, a very precise description how to get to the cottage and "round the clock" availability of her via mobile if need be. A clearly recommend!

The location, cottage and overall experience was quite simply, stunning! Susan has developed a hidden treasure and we feel fortunate to have found it and enjoyed its "sparkle" over the Easter weekend. Whilst the location is relatively remote, it adds to the overall "rugged Ireland" experience but within an oasis of luxury. We would highly recommend this for couples or families who want to get away for a thoroughly relaxing (and luxurious) trip away from the stress of the city or life in general.

We arrived to the most beautiful remote farmhouse in western Ireland. Susan and Ralph were amazing hosts who were there when you needed them, but respectful of your privacy and making you feel like the home was yours. The house was better than the photos. There's no way to fully capture on film the simple but, stunning attention to detail that was put into the design of their home. The story behind the restoring of this homestead was not only one of passion for the property and its ancient buildings, but one that shows their commitment and love of Ireland and their community. The house was perfectly appointed and comfortable In every way, cooking, dining, relaxing, sleeping and mapping your next day's journey. The back corridor with its full wall map of SW Ireland, with its heated slate floors was my favorite place to sit with a Jameson and map out our next journey. Susan and Ralph went over and above as hosts, helping us navigate the landscape and neighboring area, share history of the town and the land, as well as problem solve as we managed to find ourselves in car trouble. I will recommend the valley of the hare to all my friends and look forward to a return extended stay in the coming years.

Incredible place. The photos really do not capture how nice it is. A really fantastic house with views to match. Our trip was short, but staying here made all the difference: we had a wonderful time. Very grateful to Susan for going out of her way to help us find it on our way in (we arrived at night). A friendly, charming, and welcoming host.

Staying at the Valley of the Hare was really special and I can say it truly felt like we were at home. The house is perfectly situated for those looking for a peaceful escape in the beautiful Irish countryside. There is an abundance of nature trails and scenic sites around Sneem and the surrounding areas. The house was beautifully decorated and had all the essentials (i.e. an abundance of pots and pans, serving dishes, cooking spices, DVDs, shampoo, etc.) to make you feel at home. Susan kindly provided us with a welcome package which was great since we didn't have to rush to the grocery store for breakfast supplies the next morning. She also provided me with detailed directions to the house prior to our arrival which were very easy to follow evidenced by the fact that we didn't get lost! Susan popped around to check that we had settled in and to answer any questions. Otherwise she left the family and I to our own devices which was great. I have no complaints about our stay and would highly recommend the Valley of the Hare to future visitors to Kerry County.

You want the dream house ? That's the one ! Just a little down the road outside Sneem (5min drive), The Valley of the Hare is in a peaceful place surrounded by nature. Everything is so calm, with gorgeous landscapes, population mostly sheeps. Inside the house, it's just perfect. Spacious clean rooms w/ really chic decorations, a living with comfy sofas, a fireplace and a bay window. There's also a gigantic american style kitchen w/ all the utensils we could wish for (we're french after all). Groceries were left in the fridge, heat was on with a fire ready to be lit. We used the master bedroom which has a really comfortable bed with a view over the valley, so nice to wake up with this view ! We haven't had the possibility to meet Susan since we came late and left early, but she made everything to provide all the informations to come and kept in touch when we needed. We clearly recommend The Valley of the Hare. We will definitely come back, for a longer stay this time, there's a lot to do in the Kerry County :)
