We (a couple with a 3 year old child) stayed 6 days in the wonderful Castiglion Fiorentino.
Location: 1 / A
The apartment is located in the beautiful centre of the medieval town Castiglion Fiorentino: The perfect spot to explore the Mid-Tuscany.
Finding the house was easy, but be prepared that free parking is only possible outside the town wall and that the town is closed down from time to time.
Everything is within a quick walk: The bakery "L'Antico Forno" is basically next door, several bars and restaurants just few steps away and shops down the road.
Although the house is directly located next to the little main road, we didn't hear any cars at all... just the neighbours once
The apartment was in a really cool location and was authentic to the city. Because it was a part of a old medieval wall, it did smell musty on the rainy days. Furnishings and bathroom were comfortable. Kristina was nice enough to pick us up from the train station with our big luggage. The apartment is located about 1 1/2 miles from the train station and there is not local transportation. Without her help, the trip with all our luggage would have been a real problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
Amazing apartment super relaxing and well located in stunning hill top Tuscan town. We'll be back!
Kristina was so helpful with directions to the apartment in Castiglion Fiorentino. We loved this walled town with its narrow winding roads up and down and the views into the foothills and valleys. The apartment was exactly as pictured in the photos. The bed was so comfortable and the patio was great for enjoying the sunshine. This was a great location for getting to Arezzo and Cortona easily. Parking was outside the walls but the walks to and from the carpark were great for exploring or taking some scenic photos. We wished we could have stayed longer.
General details and access to apartment was provided by Kristina on a very well written message that was sent to us. Communication with Kristina was quick and helpful when required. Apartment was very week located in the centre of Castiglion Fiorentino and is bottom floor unit which shares a beautiful terrace with an upper floor apartment. We were lucky as the upper unit was vacant for the time we stayed. The apartment is a short walk to a beautiful Piazza with views that you want to bottle and take back with you. Cafes and several restaurants available within 3 mins walk.
This was my second airbnb stay and generally the apprehension that this style of accommodation shares in comparison to Hotels was relieved when the access communication is found to be easy and reliable.
Parking limits and availability in and outside the town is something you have to be very careful of. Our hire car was towed away! No signs, No contact or information to retrieve the car! A memorable and costly experience that reminds you on how vulnerable you can be in a strange place. Only local knowledge can avoid this and is a danger everywhere in Italy. An apartment information folder may have helped.
Overall the accommodation is comfortable with all the ingredients that checked our requirements as a 7 day central base camp in Tuscany.
Wir haben uns in der sehr schönen Wohnung richtig wohl gefühlt!
Ganz besonders toll ist Kristina, wir konnten uns jederzeit an sie wenden und sie hat uns viele Tipps gegeben und immer schnell weiter geholfen.
Kristina was such a great and helpful host! We had such a wonderful time staying in her flat. It was in such a great location -- easily accessible to both the train and bus stops. And it was so nice being able to cook and eat out on the lovely terrace. Highly recommend it!
