Room with large bathroom in Casa Colonial. Light and bright, queen-sized bed. Private bath with shower, TV, refrigerator, table.
Located in a B&B with four guest rooms on a large property. Safe, secure, quiet.

The space

The rooms have a private entrance. They are roomy with a large bathroom with shower. There is a flat-screen TV with (local) cable.

Guest access

Besides your room, the enclosed deck area will be open to access. This is where breakfast is served but it is also a nice place to "hang out" with a great lake view.
The property is large (over 4000m2) with flowers and trees. You are welcome to walk about on the property.

Interaction with guests

Generally, I (Phil) will be available and happy to talk about the area, Guatemala, Central America and, well, Linux. I am the only English speaker but, if you speak Spanish or Kachiquel (or want to learn) others will be here as well.

We had a great stay at Phil & Rocia's, what lovely people! The space was comfortable & clean with great views of the lake, beautiful sunsets. Phil's breakfast in the morning was super tasty & fresh, BEST pinto gallo by far. Communication & directions were great, they were even kind enough to personally show us the easier route in & out of town. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a peaceful place to enjoy the lake. San Antonio is very quiet, so don't come here expecting to find the touristy places in Pana or all the activities of San Marcos, though it is easy to take a pick up into town. Plus, the two restaurants in town are both very good. Phil and his daughter Rosca were so helpful and kind and she is a great chef!!!! They also have an adorable dog.

Phil was very welcoming, friendly and accessible. The rooms were very clean and just as described and seen in photos. I especially loved the towels: clean, crisp, thick, white. Phil asked what time we wanted to have breakfast and had it ready on time. The view from his place is AMAZING. I especially enjoyed having a fridge in our room: I was able to keep some cold drinks. The town is very small but beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.

Response from Phil:
Thanks for the positive feedback. The road situation is temporary. We tend to put that information on the web site for the B&B but AirBnB policies don't allow us to point to it. There is an article there which includes the description of the road from Agua Escondida including a photo on the road.

I moved to Central America in 2002. I have lived in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and now Guatemala. Ran a computer business but decided it was time to live a less stressful life. I still do consulting and run this B&B with my daughter Rocio.
Living here on Lake Atitlan has been amazing for me. Great climate, nice people and, best of all, very low stress.
