Please contact me via an inquiry before you make a reservation request. This is a chemical FRAGRANCE FREE home. I enjoy welcoming guests into my home, but if you wear chemically scented colognes, after shaves, hair sprays, body sprays, or perfumes, I can't. Most stuff with herbal fragrance from Whole Foods or health food stores is okay, but strong chemical fragrances are a non-starter here.
Music is good. Jamming is encouraged.
Smoking is OK outside, in the yard, but not inside the house.

Not good: tuba waltzes and pets.
The listing description was accurate. Steve was very welcoming and did a lot to make us comfortable.
The room was cozy and convenient place to stay. It was clean and (website hidden)'s close to downtown and hot air balloon area. Steve was really good host. I would stay there again!
Steve's place was just what I needed in Napa. Last minute change of plans and I needed a place to stay. I loved the babbling brook noise machine. His house was quiet and clean. Thanks Steve!
Steve was a great host and created a very welcoming environment. The description was very accurate and I had a great stay in Napa!
The room was exactly as described. Very clean and Steve is very flexible with check-in.
Great overall value.
Steve is a great host and the room was perfect and suited for my stay. He knows everything about the area just ask him. He will provide you all the info about local restaurants, wineries and programs. Highly recommended!
This is a great little spot to be able to hop and skip around Napa. Only a quick 5 min drive to downtown. Very cute neighborhood. The room was actually bigger than the picture showed, that was a nice surprise and the bathroom that states down the hall is maybe 5 steps from the rented bedroom. Steve was very welcoming and had us laughing from the time we got there until we left. Thanks for the best place to lay our heads we will be back....

This is my home, not a hotel. I really enjoy meeting new people from all over the world, and helping them enjoy this fantastic Napa-Sonoma area. I've lived around here for 40 years, so I can offer dependable advice about affordable wine country touring. I even offer livery services for driveabouts!
Since 2009, I am Creative Director at Caltext Creative, a publicity and brand enhancement firm located in Napa, California, USA. I am also President of StevesWood, purveyor of fine grilling and BBQ supplies. Also, I provide knowledgeable top-notch livery services to wine country visitors who want to tour the beautiful Napa-Sonoma-Lake-Mendocino wine country in a driving-safe-and-sober manner. And, to top it all off, I am also an ordained minister, so I can marry you (to someone else) while you’re here. I can also do baptisms and burials at sea, as well.
I don't get to do many weddings (I would love to do more!), but I do a great deal of wine touring driving for folks interested in experiencing the wines of Napa-Sonoma.
I am an experienced livery driver and I can happily manage all of your transportation needs for your Wine Country tasting tour. Reasonably priced, hassle-free transportation, combining the benefits of a local resident’s knowledge of the area (including fifteen years managing vineyards in Sonoma County) with a sense of humor and complete dependability. There are no hired subcontract drivers here, guaranteed. It’s just me.
I can drive you, in the comfort of my non-smoking sedan or your own vehicle, to your choice of any winery in Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, or Solano county. I can devote myself exclusively to your transportation needs for as long as you wish, and provide first class service to help you have a wonderful day. I can gladly provide as much, or as little, advice on local wineries and restaurants as you like.
If you want me to drive you and wait for you, my hourly rate is $30/hr with a three hour minimum. If you simply want a ride from point A to point B, it’s $2.50/mile. Recent references available, you need only ask.
Before the worldwide economic collapse, I made a decent living as a Registered Civil Engineer providing water quality compliance assistance to resource agencies, water and irrigation districts, municipalities, and other public and private organizations.
And before that, I was Farm Manager and Vineyard Operator at Oak Hill Vineyards in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. I was responsible for all agricultural operations, land development, chemical recommendations/ applications, and grower/winery liaison, and I delivered up to 300 tons per year to some of the top wineries of the time. Basically, I was at ground zero for the birth of the current Napa-Sonoma Wine Disneyland.
But heck, I was just a kid then . . . .
