We had a great time in NOLA and a lovely stay at La Belle Terre. Odile was very accommodating and great at getting in touch with us, even though our flight was a few hours late. The house is lovely - just like the photos. We typically walked back and forth from the neighborhood to the Quarter and Frenchman area (about a 30 minute walk) and occasionally took a cab ($10.50 for four people). It was nice to have a home-base with a kitchen, comfortable furniture, and relative peace and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!
Odile made us feel very welcome and comfortable for our stay in New Orleans. The house is lovely and the French decorations charming. The two bedrooms are very comfortable although the couch not so much. While it was a longish walk to the French Quarter it was a nice, direct one with a chance to view various types of homes and buildings. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to visit again.
Clean, very well renovated space. Centrally located and easy to access. We had no safety issues and never felt uncomfortable, but were encouraged by locals to cab rather than walk at night. Odile also kindly let us stay late on check out day because our flight was later in the day. Overall I would highly recommend.
This is a great apartment if you want quick access to the French quarter without actually staying there. I came to New Orleans with some friends for my 35th birthday in March. We were looking for 2 apartments to hold all of us and ended up rent this one as one of them. The place was clean, had modern bathrooms and kitchen and comfy beds. We ended up using the two bedrooms and pull out couch and everyone slept just fine. We also had a car and street parking was a breeze. Odile was also very accommodating with our check-in/out time. I would definitely stay here again.
Odile's house is super-cute and VERY accommodating! She's thought of things you need that you didn't even realize you wanted. The place was super clean, with very comfy bedding, a beautiful bathroom (complete with soap/shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer), a lovely kitchen, and a smart TV! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a comfortable place to return to after enjoying New Orleans. My only caveat is that it's a bit far (about a mile) from all the fun stuff--rent bikes if you can!
The neighborhood is a great way to really get a sense of New Orleans outside of the French Quarter and very easily walkable to Frenchmen, French Quarter and lots of other sights. Odile's home is gorgeous - with high ceilings, beautiful wood floors and updated appliances throughout. This home is a fabulous find and will enhance your experience of the city. Odile was accommodating and easy to communicate with.
About the Host, Odile
We purchased this property to share with our daughter because we love New Orleans. We like going so much we wanted to have a great place to stay and feel like the locals. Unfortunately we can't be there all the time and thought others would love to use our place when visiting. Our daughter will be next door to help in any way she can.
