About this listing
SPECIAL OFFER FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKING
Situated on the ground floor of a 16th century palace - the Palazzo Andosilla, a building classified as 'historical'. This apartment is 40m2, and an authentic little nest in the heart of the centre of Rome in which all its ancient charm still resides. From there you will be able to visit and admire all the beauty of 'the eternal city', which always has a little something right around the corner for you to discover.
The flat, although it has been renovated, still retains all its antique charm. It is ideal for 2 or 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children/adolescents.
It comprises of a romantic bedroom, a small living room with a sofa-bed (size is 1 and a half people, which would have to be folded up every morning to allow for passage in the living room), a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilets. The apartment naturally remains very cool during summer, but benefits from a very good autonomous heating system for the winter.
You will be able to taste the best coffee in Rome (on Piazza di Sant' Eustachio, literally down the street). In a neighbourhood full of local restaurants, authentic Roman ice cream shops, bars and boutiques, all of which contained within amazing historical Roman streets and alleys. A few minutes away from the apartment is 'Campo de Fiori': by day it is a beautiful and colourful market, by night the piazza turns into a highly frequented spot for night-life and entertainment, it is a highly known place of rendezvous for the young, under the statue of Giordano Bruno.
From a cultural stand point, you will live halfway between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, a couple of streets away from the palaces of political life (Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Montecitorio, and Palazzo Chigi) and a 5-10 minute walk to the most fascinating 'piazzas' of Rome, the most beautiful historical monuments, and the principal museums of the city. In fact, all the main attractions the city has to offer are walking distance away from the flat such as, Piazza Venezia and the Victorian Museum; the Capitol and its museums; the Trevi Fountain; the galleries and many shops of Via del Corso (the main shopping street which connects Piazza Venezia with Piazza del Popolo). For the ones in love, it is also easy to access the esplanade of the Quirinale and to admire the beautiful expositions of grand renown which are hosted in it (the 'Scuderie del Quirinale)
To move around, there is nothing simpler: The apartment is literally 1 minute away from Largo di Torre Argentina, a piazza in which numerous buses stop which can take you to nearly all directions. On that piazza there also is the Tram 8 which crosses the Tevere river to take you to Trastevere (allowing you to stroll around other beautiful neighbourhoods of Rome which are not the centre itself, or simply to take a walk down the river banks). The connections between the flat and the main rail station (Termini), and therefore with the various airports, are optimal.
We will put at your disposal bed sheets, towels and coffee. There are no specific rules apart from the respect of others, material, and the location.
Pets are accepted.
Recibirán sábanas y toallas así como el café. No hay reglas particulares, lo único que pedimos es el respeto hacia los demás, hacia los muebles y el apartamento en general.

Very nice place, great location, and keeps cool in the summer, which is fantastic. Marlene was great too, very friendly and helpful. Would recommend it.
Rome was hot when we were there like 100f but place was surprisingly cool with no ac. Used 2 fans in our bedroom. Marlene was the nicest lady she helped us with anything we needed. Location is perfect. Right in heart of everything. Place is good. Has everything. Would definitely rent again! Thanks for all your help Marlene! You were great!!
I cannot say enough about how special this apartment was for us and about Marlene who is a great host. First about Marlene. On the day of our arrival there was a fire close to Rome FCO airport and our flight was terribly delayed. We finally reached Marlene's place at 2 AM but she drove all the way to the apartment to welcome us. Then patiently explained everything to us in the middle of the night even though she had to leave for Switzerland early next day. She provided us with a landline and a cell phone for emergency calls and had some coffee, milk and cookies in the apartment for us because we came in so late. Wow! Through the trip she kept in touch with us and arranged for a cab ride for us to go to the airport on our way back home. The apartment itself is in the best possible location. It is within a 5 min walking distance to the Pantheon, 10 mins to Trevi Fountain, 10 mins to Piazza Navona(which also has the best restaurants), 15 mins to the Roman forum, 10 mins to Campe Fiori, the Tiber river and Trastevere. Close to a lot of good restaurants and cafes. We would do sight seeing in the morning, come back home for a siesta and then go out again in the evening. In the summer Rome gets really(and I mean really) hot. But the apartment always stayed cool. The bedroom and the living room also had fans which were extremely helpful to us. The kitchen is stocked with sufficient silverware and cooking apparatus so you can dine-in if you want to. There is a super-store on via de Argentina about 5-7 mins walking from the apartment for essentials. I would very highly recommend this apartment and if we ever go back to Rome we will definitely stay here. Thanks Marlene!
Thank you for your kind review for me. I remember it has been a very hectic day in the airport for both of us! but did already forget the inconveniences. It was a pleasure to meet you, even so briefly. I am happy that you enjoyed your stay in the Cosy nest. Thank you!
The apartment is perfectly situated, within less than a mile walk of sites like the Forum and Castel Sant'angelo. It's also spitting distance from Piazza Navona, a beautiful and vibrant square. Despite being near all the action, it's very quiet and calm. Marlene was incredibly sweet and helpful, one of the nicest hosts I've ever met! We loved our stay in the Cozy Nest and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Rome.
We were enchanted by the cozy apartment built in the 1600s. We were able to walk to the historical sites with no issues and enjoyed our stay in Rome for the first time.
Marlene's cozy nest was in the heart of Rome, literally next to the Pantheon. However, in a good way, her place was away from the noise, away from the busy street because her building opens to a courtyard and her place is in the side by the courtyard that promotes true privacy and blocks all the sounds away and its really antique beauty of a place, the bedroom upstairs was very cute and if you have a bad back, the bed provides great support. The real gem in this experience was Marlene herself, she was Rome in essence, she was open, loving, heartwarming and provided us with a tour guide experience that we couldn't live without. Marlene was 'Mama Italiana!" in Rome, she really attended to our needs and made sure our bellys were full by calling restaurant owners that were friends to make sure that we were being taken care of and on top of that she stocked the fridge to ensure that we had coffee and breakfast in the mornings. It was incredible and that's not even the end of it - she provided us with Sedgways to allow us to rest our tired feets and experience Rome by gliding through all the amazing spots like the Colleseo, St. Peter's Basicila, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain which was very close by the apartment and her business spot. Her crew at work were awesome, they took us to the cafe and to a locals lunch spot where we ate a great lunch for a great price. Marlene is the best host I've ever experience. When in Rome, go with Marlene's wisdom and experience, you will be a Roman for the duration of your trip :)
I have no words reading this review. Thank you with all my heart Gregg. I am so happy when my guests are feeling well in the beautiful but so chaotic Rome, that I try to add some little tips and helps. But you are so nice with me, that I don't find words to say thank you! Gratefully greetings! Marlène
Marlene was a fantastic host and her place was great! It was such a unique experience staying in a building from the 1650's! Her place is very centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere. She gave us recommendations for restaurants, tips for visiting sights, and even had a cell phone for us to use for making reservations and in case of emergencies. I highly recommend staying at Marlene's place while in Italy!
About the Host, Marlène
As my first profession I was a sociologist (researcher), then I also became a nurse in tropical medicine and public health. With these skills I travelled a lot, working in many countries, in the humanitarian field and research. After 16 years spent out of Europe (Africa, former USSR, Middle East, Central Asia), my 3 teenagers and me decided to settle in Rome, end of 2008. We immediately fell in love with the 'Eternal City', its beauty, the cradle of our culture, and its sort of permanent chaos... then we bought our little apartment in the heart of the historical centre, our Cosy Nest. Now as my kids are leaving abroad again, I am pleased to rent our little 'nest' through Airbnb keeping in touch with people from each part of the world. I am now working as a freelance sociologist and I run a little business of Segway rental and guided tours in the historical center of Rome.
