Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via Monterone, Rome, Lazio 00186, Italy

The Space

Situated on the ground floor of a 16th century palace - the Palazzo Andosilla, a building classified as 'historical'. This apartment is 40m2, and an authentic little nest in the heart of the centre of Rome in which all its ancient charm still resides. From there you will be able to visit and admire all the beauty of 'the eternal city', which always has a little something right around the corner for you to discover.

The flat, although it has been renovated, still retains all its antique charm. It is ideal for 2 or 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children/adolescents.
It comprises of a romantic bedroom, a small living room with a sofa-bed (size is 1 and a half people, which would have to be folded up every morning to allow for passage in the living room), a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilets. The apartment naturally remains very cool during summer, but benefits from a very good autonomous heating system for the winter.

You will be able to taste the best coffee in Rome (on Piazza di Sant' Eustachio, literally down the street). In a neighbourhood full of local restaurants, authentic Roman ice cream shops, bars and boutiques, all of which contained within amazing historical Roman streets and alleys. A few minutes away from the apartment is 'Campo de Fiori': by day it is a beautiful and colourful market, by night the piazza turns into a highly frequented spot for night-life and entertainment, it is a highly known place of rendezvous for the young, under the statue of Giordano Bruno.
From a cultural stand point, you will live halfway between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, a couple of streets away from the palaces of political life (Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Montecitorio, and Palazzo Chigi) and a 5-10 minute walk to the most fascinating 'piazzas' of Rome, the most beautiful historical monuments, and the principal museums of the city. In fact, all the main attractions the city has to offer are walking distance away from the flat such as, Piazza Venezia and the Victorian Museum; the Capitol and its museums; the Trevi Fountain; the galleries and many shops of Via del Corso (the main shopping street which connects Piazza Venezia with Piazza del Popolo). For the ones in love, it is also easy to access the esplanade of the Quirinale and to admire the beautiful expositions of grand renown which are hosted in it (the 'Scuderie del Quirinale)

To move around, there is nothing simpler: The apartment is literally 1 minute away from Largo di Torre Argentina, a piazza in which numerous buses stop which can take you to nearly all directions. On that piazza there also is the Tram 8 which crosses the Tevere river to take you to Trastevere (allowing you to stroll around other beautiful neighbourhoods of Rome which are not the centre itself, or simply to take a walk down the river banks). The connections between the flat and the main rail station (Termini), and therefore with the various airports, are optimal.

  • Marlene is a most wonderful host staying up late to greet us following our night arrival in Rome. She had maps, sparkling water, milk, biscuits and a well equipped kitchen for our use. She even had a mobile phone available whilst we were in the eternal city and kept in regular contact with us via SMS. The nest was perfect for our use, so central to all attractions so that we were able to walk to the colosseum and forum as well as the Vatican and all the other attractions in the central area. Marlene recommended lovely restaurants, our daily coffee supply and was most kind to drive us to Trastevere station so we could catch a train to pick up a hire car. Thanks you Marlene for such a fantastic introduction to Italy and in particular Rome. You are very special and we feel privileged to have stayed in your lovely abode.

  • Absolutely fabulous! Marlène was extremely helpful before and during our stay. When we arrived late on the first night she walked us to a very nice little restaurant so we could get something to eat even though it was pretty late. The appartment is really cosy with a very charming bedroom, a nice little kitchen and a bathroom and a livingroom. And it is superbly situated. One can walk to all the great sights and hundreds of great cafes, restaurants and bars. It was just a perfect stay! Thank you Marlène!

  • This week in Roma was amazing for both of us! The flat is super great, and Marlen is really nice! Located in the "center of the city center", it is perfect to go everywhere you want by a quick walk. Besides, since it isn't directly connected to a street (it is hidden in a building courtyard), it is really quiet and we had no trouble at all to sleep. Definitely, whoever wants to spend few days in Roma should try the Cozy Nest! If we come back, we'll come back here!
    Thanks for everything,
    Mathilde and Thibault

The apartment itself is quiet and perfect for two. I would definitely come back!

  • Highly recommend the Cozy Nest! It is a perfect location - close to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona neighborhoods and less than a 2 minute walk to a major bus stop that can take you everywhere from Vatican City to Termini. Marlene was an incredible host - she gave us a local cell phone to use and stocked the fridge with a few things before our stay. She also called the taxi service for us and was quick to respond with any questions we had. My family is on the tall side so I would say 3 adults is a definite max. Thank you again Marlene for aiding our wonderful experience in Roma!

  • Marlène's apartment was absolutely adorable! We had a lovely stay in Rome. The apartment is a bit small but totally fine for two people. Marlène is an incredibly kind and helpful host. She was very responsive and gave very detailed instructions on how to get to the apartment, along with great restaurant suggestions.
We had a lovely time in Rome and when I go back I hope to stay here again!

  • The location is amazing. So central and yet so quiet tucked away in the heart of a palazzo at the bottom of a light well.
As others have commented you do need to be agile to negotiate the slippery internal stairs to the bedroom.
Don't expect luxury but do expect a great value cozy base in the heart of Rome renting from a really nice person. Thanks Marlene!

  • Me and my mum stayed at the Cozy nest for three night. It was the perfect location for us, really close to everything and we were able to walk everywhere. The apartment has everything you will need.

Marlene was a great host. She was very helpful before and during our stay and she made it very easy for us to enjoy our days in Rome.

  • Cozy Nest is literally in the Heart of Rome! Marlene was a wonderful host and was in constant contact with us days leading up to our stay. She provided clear directions coming from America and we had no issues finding the apartment! She was also wonderful with providing maps and local treasures for us to explore. The apartment is very cozy and comfortable and clean, equpped with kitchen, heater and a small living room. She also provided a cell phone to make local calls! On top of that, you can beat the location... we were steps away from the Pantheon and maybe a 20 minute walk to the Coliseum/ Forum. Public transportation is great and there is a nearby market. The apartment was a treat to stay in and very safe.

  • Marlene couldn't have been more helpful. We had really bad weather while we were in Rome and she helped us both on arrival and departure, regularly keeping us updated with the best way to get to the airport which really made a difference as it meant that we didn't have to worry.
The Cozy Nest is comfortable and in a great location, you really are in the centre and it was great to be able to stop off during the day.
Marlene stocked the fridge with drinks and there was coffee and snacks...this was my first Air BnB experience and Marlene made it very enjoyable

Freelance sociologist and translator
My first profession was as a nurse in tropical medicine and public health, then I also became a sociologist. With these skills I travelled a lot, working in many countries, in the humanitarian field and research. After 16 years spent out of Europe (Africa, former USSR, Middle East, Central Asia), my 3 teenagers/kids and me decided to settle in Rome. We immediately fell in love with the 'Eternal City', its beauty, the cradle of our culture, and its sort of permanent chaos... then we bought our little apartment in the heart of the historical centre, and, as my kids are starting to travel again, I am pleased to rent our little 'nest' through Airbnb keeping in touch with people from each part of the world. I am now working as a freelance sociologist and translator.
