This 2-bedroom cabin is just 15-20 mins north of downtown Portland, with easy access to Northeast Portland (Alberta, Mississippi St, Burnside) which is the best area of the city anyway.
It's a great place if you're wanting to explore Portland during the days but retreat to a cabin in the evenings to relax with privacy.
We live and work in Portland but love this place because it feels like a mountain vacation without the long drive out to Mt. Hood or elsewhere. We searched for months to find a home that had that felt secluded and rustic with character and charm - a place where we could explore the woods, pick wild berries, and be near water.
We both work for an entertaining/interiors magazine and our home reflects our love of nature and the outdoors - driftwood, branches, plants, and an eclectic collection of antiques. We're both avid cooks, so you'll find a well-stocked kitchen with all the cooking/baking tools you might need. We also have an extensive cookbook collection, so come ready to read and cook! We've learned how frustrating it can be to arrive at a rental home that doesn't have good kitchenware, so we've covered all the bases here.
Within a 5 min drive: New Seasons grocery store, Fred Meyers, Cinema/Movie theater, Goodwill Thrift Store, Safeway, gas stations.
12 min from Portland International Airport

Great location and charming home. Katie was easy to work with. We hope to stay there again!
What a wonderful retreat! Thanks to Katie & Nathan for sharing it with us.
We were two couples and a single in town for the Portland Craft Expo. The short jaunt into Portland to the Expo Center was ideal for getting into the city when we needed to be there, and getting out of the city when we were done for the day. It was awesome to come back to such a relaxing space!
Quiet and charming, this location had a well equipped kitchen where we were able to cook several family-style meals. The creek out back was amazing, where we could watch herons fly while eating our breakfast in the warmth of the cabin.
Easily the most professional AirBnB I've dealt with in Portland -- we went through a number of cancellations and other waffling, and I was astounded by how poorly managed other Portland's AirBnBs were. Katie was a treat to deal with, very accomodating, and very relaxed with regard to check-in and check-out.
Couldn't recommend this place more! We'll be back next time we need a place to stay in Portland, or a place to get away from Seattle. Thanks so much!
Eclectic and charming! The view of the stream from the living room is wild and wonderful. Clean and private. Thanks Katie & Nathan.
My friend and I wanted a true retreat and a bit of digital detox for our week-long Portland vacation. This lovely cabin in the woods provided us with a beautiful background to experience the value in slowing down. Knowing the internet was just a password away on our iPhones was a comfort, but found ourselves comforted even more by taking a book onto the back porch and listening to the sounds of "our waterfall." The drive into Portland was easy and the cabin was very centrally located to anything we needed. We saw films in four different theaters, shopped and ate in both Portland and Vancouver, hiked just off a scenic highway, and only once broke our self-imposed curfew. Upon returning to "real life," my friends asked me if I enjoyed my vacation. My standard response has been, "I think it is the nicest thing I've ever done for myself." If you are looking for a place to help you to just take a moment to breathe, I certainly recommend this secluded riverside cabin, lovingly curated by Katie and Nathan.
This was a good location to explore the Portland area as well as the Columbia River Gorge. It is a quaint, rustic home. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook breakfast & dinner. It has a small stream right behind the home that is relaxing to listen to. The home has an old feel, I'm more of a new look person. It would not the place to stay if you have any allergies to wood or dust. Hosts were easy to communicate with.
A lovely Portland retreat. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable and the surroundings are gorgeous. We loved the peaceful location with its easy access to downtown and plenty of amenities near by. We are looking forward to returning sometime soon.
We had a wonderful stay—the house was cute and rustic and just as advertised. Katie and Nathan were gracious hosts, and super helpful & accommodating. Couldn't have asked for better lodgings for our first trip to Portland!
Katie and Nathan's place cabin in the woods was truly unique for us. We traveled by car from SF to Portland with our 2 Kids. Their place is very relaxing and decorated with beautiful accessories. We enjoyed our stay... this place feels like pure nature.
On our last day we had 4 Deers in the front of the kitchen....
Thank you Katie and Nathan for the smooth check in and out.
See you next time
Our stay at this secluded cabin was wonderful. It was very peaceful and relaxing. From the master bedroom you can even hear the creek behind the cabin at night. It was the getaway we needed! I would recommend this place and return in the summer to enjoy the river. Not to far from Portland either!
Katie and Nathan's place was truly a wonderful cabin in the woods experience. Their place was so relaxing and curated with beautiful pieces throughout the home that you can tell they really love their place! Thank you for letting us stay and for the great coffee!
