The transportation situation when you are staying in Mountain Village is excellent. Most people never feel the need to drive at all while staying in Mountain Village (we never do) because of the easy, free and very convenient gondola that provides access to the town and back until late night - the best transportation arrangement of all major ski resorts in the US. The lodge also provides free private shuttle rides to most places in the Mountain Village including the gondola station. Thus, to answer your question about parking passes: you will not need to drive and to park at all to attend all Bluegrass festival events or to go for a dinner or grocery shopping (there is an excellent grocery market in a close proximity to Bear Creek Lodge: less than 5 minutes of shuttle drive or 10 minutes of walk). At the same time, you will have the privacy of lodging at night in the quite setting of a private lodge in Mountain Village away from the noise of town. We much prefer Mountain Village to town lodging.
We welcome you as our guests. In addition, to the general info already published with the listing, the concierge and the front desk staff will inform you on all available services and will make any reservations you may need. The staff is extremely helpful.
You will need to check in at the front desk and to provide your credit card for all incidental expenses or optional cleaning (see below). The front desk is staffed until 11-12 pm depending on the season or later at the times of festivals. If you are planning to arrive late or are delayed on the way, please, contact the front desk at (phone number hidden) and make proper arrangements for late check-in.
You are responsible for $200 post departure cleaning fee. For stays of less than 5 nights no free cleaning service is included. However, if you request, the front desk will pick-up the trash and replace towels daily at no charge - go over that with the front desk staff when checking in or at your convenience. If you decide that you want some room cleaning, the housekeeping will provide this service at approximate rate of $50/bedroom - but you will need to discuss it directly with the front desk. The daily cleaning charges, if any, will be directly billed to you credit card. For stays of 5 days and longer, one complete mid-week cleaning service is included at no additional charge.
If you did not stay before in a two-floor 4-bed room codno at BCL before, you may be pleasantly surprised with unusually large two master bed-rooms on the second floor. The 3rd bedroom at the first floor us normal in size but with the french doors and a balcony access. It also has some nice features such as a separate vanity table with a mirror inside the room but around the corner from the beds. The beds in the room could be configured as a king or two doubles (you will need to call the front desk in advance with your preference because it could be set either way on your arrival). The 4th bedroom is usual in size and normally is set with two twin beds, which also could be converted into a king.
Of course, the unit and the entire lodge are non-smoking - that is very important for us. My wife and I are very sensitive to any smoke and may get literally sick in spite of any cleaning when we arrive just a few days later. So, please, if you or your companions are planning to smoke (regular or otherwise) even on the balcony or outdoors, we will feel it anyway because of the persistent smoke in the exhaled air. So, while I respect the liberty and the right of people to do want they want on their private time, if there are any smokers in your group, I would suggest you to book another rental. No pets are allowed in our condo.
