Home in rural area on 7+ acres with landscaped gardens near two 80 acre tree farms with walking trails. Guest have the use of a private bedroom which is at the opposite end of the house from the master bedroom and exclusive use of a recently upgraded bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. The kitchen, living room, sun room are all shared. My home is within easy driving distance of Mt. Rainier, (website hidden). Helens, Olympic National Park and the Pacific Ocean. WIFI and TV for watching videos is available.
I am within two miles of Elma which has an excellent Mexican restaurant (El Rancheon), a Chinese restaurant (Top Wok) and the usual amenities. Olympia is approximately 30 miles to the East and Aberdeen is approximately 25 miles to the West.
I have neighbors within a few hundred yards but their homes are not visible from my home. My home sets back and up the hill from the County Road. As a consequence guests can expect a quiet, peaceful environment in which to relax and enjoy nature.
In another time Ray would be the much beloved innkeeper of a small town. Wonderful hospitality, wonderful home, wonderful location.
Not only a beautiful home for us to unwind at, but his conversation, accompanied walks, and his kitchen table were all unexpected surprises that brought the new year on with gentle kindness. Thanks Ray for hospitality that went far beyond our expectations. A peaceful new year to you.
Ray is the most gracious host. His place is truly a retreat- beautiful acres on top of a hill with a view. The room is very private and quiet. One night we stayed up and just talked- but he was also fine, on the next night, with my need to work on my computer. The first day, I put up a hammock between two of his trees and slept outside most of the afternoon. The next day, I hiked in the Olympic National forest, by Lake Quinault, through many groves of old growth trees, and, although it was a Saturday in August, I only met two other parties, all day. Magic! I highly recommend staying with Ray if you are anywhere in the neighborhood on a trip.
This was our second experience with AirBnB and again truly a pleasure. Ray's home is very cozy, looks exactly as pictured and is indeed a perfect quiet retreat. And Ray was the perfect host! Not only did he accept our booking on very short notice, but introduced us to his adorable dogs, Molly and Bear, shared a bottle of delicious wine with us, offered tips for our road trip on Pacific Highway and even whipped up a yummy breakfast for us the next morning! We stayed an hour longer than planned as chatting with Ray was just so enjoyable. All in all, highly recommended!!!
I was the first person to stay at Ray's place. Too bad I only stayed there for one night because his place is simply wonderful. Located on a hill but not too far away from downtown, his large property is quiet, the surrounding view is just splendid and the room I slept in was very comfortable and clean. You can see right away that he has put a lot of work into his home. Ray indeed is a kind, generous and thoughtful host who made sure I enjoyed my stay. I enjoyed talking to him a lot. He was never obtrusive and respected my privacy. He has two lovely dogs and a cat he keeps outside. Ray is a great host and was very quick at responding to my messages and calls. I can definitely recommend this place! If I could only use one word to describe his place, it would be WOW!!!!
I am a very active semi-retired attorney. I love hiking, biking, snowshoeing--my knee does not cooperate with skiing any more. I thoroughly enjoy taking care of the property on which I live cutting firewood.. I enjoy meeting new people and expanding my horizons and finding the commonality that we all share. I enjoy watching videos, reading, playing some computer games. I also enjoy traveling. I have been to Vietnam as a guest of the Air Force, to India, Peru, Israel, Canada, Mexico, etc. My home offers a peaceful environment in a beautiful setting.
