The space

This is a traditional style room in a Victorian house. The bed is a full double, and comes with fresh towels and linens. The windows are double layered with blinds and sash curtains. There's an ensuite bathroom with shower, and all the furniture is antique - you'll have a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and dressing table to allow you to organise your things during the stay.

You'll have access to free wifi throughout the house, and you can arrange use of the kitchen for breakfast and washer/dryer by request. PLEASE NOTE: BREAKFAST IS NOT PROVIDED

You'll be situated in a prestigious area of the City and close to all local amenities. Waterford airport is a 15 minutes drive away. The room is on the 1st floor of a large period Victorian house on the edge of the Viking Quarter of Waterford. Local supermarket and multiplex cinema is 2 minutes walk away. ‘Peoples Park’, across the road, dating from 1857, has 2 children’s playgrounds, and offers a relaxing environment for strollers, joggers, skateboarders and families or a tasty snack in the old Park Lodge café.

Waterford has numerous festivals throughout the year, 2 vibrant theatres and, of course, the world famous Waterford Crystal Centre in the Viking quarter. There is a wealth of restaurants and pubs to suit every taste within easy walking distance. Dublin and Cork are an hour and a half drive away and rail and bus routes are frequent from both. Tramore, Ireland’s premier beach resort, is 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bus. There are numerous scenic drives and walks along the Gold Coast or in the Comeragh mountains, all within a short drive away.

Above all, it's a friendly house!

Come and visit Ireland's oldest city to celebrate its 1100 birthday and enjoy the historic Viking quarter.

Guests also have access to a quiet beautiful private communal garden/patio area with barbeque facilities.

Nick welcomes visiting artists, musicians, actors and crew and he has close links with the artistic community in the city. The room is from from €30 per night for one person with additional guest at €10.

Great location and comfortable bed. But the room is shabby and the bathroom needs taking care of. There is a self clean policy but this is not monitored properly in my view. There is no tv in the room and no access to the kitchen after 7.30. Parking on site is not quite correct as you have to leave your keys so that your car can be moved to accommodate others. The room was not up to the usual Airbnb standards. I would have left but payment had been taken beforehand for the three days I was there.

This accommodation is in a great location, only 10 minutes walk to city with free small car parking. Ample bathroom amenities, relaxed and quiet environment, however internet was very slow. We would happily stay again.

Nicholas is a very gracious host, who welcomed us to his conveniently located home. Our private bedroom with ensuite bathroom (and off-street parking) was just what we were seeking for a 2 night stay at Waterford. We would happily stay there again.

It is a great place and a fantastic location! I did not have a car, I ventured from Canada, and so I walked everywhere! It was a perfect location to everything! He let me borrow a plug converter, which was very helpful!!!!! He told me some great places to go to and answered all the questions I had! The bed was SO COMFY! And having my own bathroom was wonderful! Overall, I highly recommend it! Great host! Great location! Great room! Very private and cozy!
