The Space

PLAY AND RELAX BY THE WATER in the heart of historic downtown Sausalito in this luxurious, modern 2 bedroom, 2 bath waterfront house that sleeps up to six guests. Centrally located in this romantic seaside village, many restaurants and sights are right outside the door including the marina, unique boutiques, galleries, restaurants, the movie theater and ferry. Parking is included and the ferry and buses to San Francisco is right down the street.

Queen bed, walk-in closet, private bath with shower for two and private water side balcony.

The kids will love this room with bunk beds with a twin bed lower (sleeps 2) and a full sized bed upper (sleeps one). TV and private deck. Second bath has cast-iron tub for that relaxing bath in luxury.

There is a twin mattress (a real, honest to goodness mattress) on demand for the sixth person.

Modern Gas dryer is just off the Master bedroom.

GREAT FOR FAMILIES and great for kids
PERFECT FOR COUPLES looking for a get away
GREAT FOR EXECUTIVES looking for a relaxing place to stay only 20 minutes from downtown San Francisco.

Guest Access

The house is yours! Cook a festive meal in this fully equipped kitchen, or use the bicycles to ride to a local restaurant down the street.

Interaction with Guests

I believe that my guests like to have their privacy and enjoy the place that they rented. I'm nearby for any issue, but not "right next door" which can feel a little inhibiting.

The Neighborhood

FOOTSTEPS to the best of Sausalito: Caledonia Street and Princess Street shops; and some of San Francisco's top restaurants: Sushi Ran, Cibo, and Scoma’s and many more.

NEAR ALL THE ACTION and some of the best live music venues in Marin: the no name bar, Seahorse Music Café and Caffe Divino; and all the activities: Sea Trek (paddling rentals), Tour de Sausalito (bike rentals), Yoga of Sausalito and the Modern Sailing School. Now you can rent high end bicycle road bikes just down the street at Bicycle Odyessy. Get your training ride in to Point Reyes through beautiful West Marin County!

Getting around

This is the most convenient, centrally located place to see all the sights on foot or by car!

On Foot:
-- Go anywhere in Sausalito on Foot. You're right there!
-- Take the bicycles and ride 20 minutes on a separated bike path to quaint Mill Valley
--Take bus to San Francisco from right across the street
-- Enjoy the San Francisco bay on the ferry to San Francisco. A 5 minute walk to the ferry and a 30 minute ride to downtown SF!

By Car:
-- Park in the carport right in front of the house.
--15 minute drive to San Francisco across the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge
-- Visit Muir Woods, Stinson Beach or the Wine Country of Napa. All less than an hour drive.
-- 30 minute drive to San Francisco Airport

Other Things to Note

We provide a coffee maker, although there are three excellent coffee brewers within a block. As Jane commented, we had a bit of an issue with a local skunk many months ago now (around the corner from us, not in the apt). The place has been painted and the carpets replaced. No more skunk smell.

  • The apartment had a very central location in Sausalito. Walking distance to ferry, bus, shops and restaurants. It is overlooking the marina. This was very convenient. We were not disturbed by any street noise.
Steve gave us tips on shops and restaurants

  • This was our first trip to Sausalito. My family enjoyed it. This town is breath taking and is a place we will revisit in years to come. We loved staying in this house. It was clean, located in a great place: close to shops, restaurants, bike rentals, etc.. I would recommend this house rental .. My kids loved it!!!

  • We were in Sausalito for two nights after a drive up the Coast. Steve's apartment is in a great location, bright, well furnished and had bunk beds which our kids loved. Steve was responsive and very concerned that we had a good experience. And it has a parking space right out front which is a huge bonus anywhere in sfo.

  • Excellent location in Saulsalito! The apartment is close to restaurants, shops, the harbor, and a short drive from the Golden Gate Bridge. The area is very active with a lot of biking, hiking, walking/running paths, as well as a yoga studio. The apartment was cozy and exactly what my husband and I needed during our trip to the Bay Area - we did not want to leave! Steve was very easy to work with and we were able to meet him during our visit. He was very personable and even suggested some great restaurants (try The Seafood Peddler across the street from the apartment - you will not be disappointed!).

  • Simply the best! Located in the heart of Sausalito Steve's apartment made us really feel home away from home. Spotlessly clean and with a great view it was always a pleasure to come back after a long day out. Within 5 minutes to the ferry to San Francisco this place is ideal for visiting the city. A lot of cafes and restaurants made it easy to spend the evenings.
Whenever back in this area this will be the first choice!

  • The house was really great. View of the water from the house and really close to shops and restaurants. The house has two good sized bedrooms, a full kitchen and comfortable living area.

Steve is also a nice guy that looks after his guests.

  • We had an amazing time in Sausilito! My husband and I were traveling with our toddler and our parents. This was the perfect location for us to be close to town, enjoy great running, and restaurant hop. The living space and kitchen were very nice as we did make quite a few meals in. Overall, I would recommend this space and would certainly visit again. Thank You, Steve!

  • This is a great location! The weather was amazing! Steve has this place very clean, cozy and comfortable. Close to many restaurants, shops and just across from the waterfront. My family had a great time!

  • My Husband and I and our 1.5yr old stayed here and it was wonderful!! The location is ridiculously awesome (especially for the price) in the heart of downtown Sausalito! It was so great to wake up every morning to such stunning views! This is my new favorite place to come when visiting the San Francisco area. It's a 5 minute walk to the ferry (so you don't have to fight traffic in the city...which is great when you have kids). Also there is so many restaurants and shops that you really don't need to go anywhere else...We walked everywhere!
There is so many fun coffee shops and little markets so close. A couple nights we just stayed in and cooked dinner...which was as nice as going out because the balcony has great views and it's a wonderful spot to enjoy a glass of wine!
The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was upgraded and awesome! We cooked in it a lot...plenty of pots, pans dishes and anything else you need.
Overall our stay was wonderful! Steve was a a great host making sure we were taken care of without invading our privacy...we didn't actually meet him but we did communicate through Airb&B and he was great about getting back to us! We would definitely stay here again!

  • My parents, husband and I had a great stay at Steve's beautiful and cosy place. We found everything we needed and enjoyed warming up at the fireplace after a rainy day in San Francisco. Restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, bus stop and the ferry are in walking distance.
For us it was the perfect place to stay.

I grew up in San Francisco, but have made Sausalito my home. Its rich history and connection to all things watersport are why I love to be here. A sailor from a young age, I have recently taken up outrigger canoeing and stand-up paddleboard. I’m an avid cyclist who uses his car as little as possible while enjoying the many wonderful bikeways of Marin County. I’m a history buff who’s not shy about talking politics, religion or economics and I follow the markets closely. I’m happy to share an insider’s knowledge of the Bay Area’s history, biking trails or local hot spots.
