Interaction with Guests
I believe that my guests like to have their privacy and enjoy the place that they rented. I'm nearby for any issue, but not "right next door" which can feel a little inhibiting.
FOOTSTEPS to the best of Sausalito: Caledonia Street and Princess Street shops; and some of San Francisco's top restaurants: Sushi Ran, Cibo, and Scoma’s and many more.
NEAR ALL THE ACTION and some of the best live music venues in Marin: the no name bar, Seahorse Music Café and Caffe Divino; and all the activities: Sea Trek (paddling rentals), Tour de Sausalito (bike rentals), Yoga of Sausalito and the Modern Sailing School. Now you can rent high end bicycle road bikes just down the street at Bicycle Odyessy. Get your training ride in to Point Reyes through beautiful West Marin County!
This is the most convenient, centrally located place to see all the sights on foot or by car!
-- Go anywhere in Sausalito on Foot. You're right there!
-- Take the bicycles and ride 20 minutes on a separated bike path to quaint Mill Valley
--Take bus to San Francisco from right across the street
-- Enjoy the San Francisco bay on the ferry to San Francisco. A 5 minute walk to the ferry and a 30 minute ride to downtown SF!
-- Park in the carport right in front of the house.
--15 minute drive to San Francisco across the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge
-- Visit Muir Woods, Stinson Beach or the Wine Country of Napa. All less than an hour drive.
-- 30 minute drive to San Francisco Airport
Other Things to Note
We provide a coffee maker, although there are three excellent coffee brewers within a block. As Jane commented, we had a bit of an issue with a local skunk many months ago now (around the corner from us, not in the apt). The place has been painted and the carpets replaced. No more skunk smell.
* Absolutely no smoking in the house
* I'm not a big hotel, so please help me keep the heating bills down. Turn down the heat. Turn out the lights! And the Stereo when not in use.
* If you break something, please email me. I need to get it replaced before the next guests arrive.
* Enjoy! I want people to enjoy the place as much as I do. I hope you create great memories here.
Great location! All Sausalito has to offer is right out your door. Very convenient to have your own parking space too.
A wonderful place to stay for any visit to the bay area. Great view along with close places for dining makes this an awesome location. Safe small town feel while steps away from the many attractions.
Fantastic house in a great location. I had a wonderful and comfortable time there for 2 weeks. Good firm bed. Great shower, couldn't ask for more
Great location, comfortable accommodation for 4 people. Did not meet Steve however all things were done as promised.
Great location, great accommodation and great host. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay in Steve's apartment. Steve came across to greet us on our first night, and gave us some good tips on where to eat and things to do. The weather was perfect, and we just loved our time there. Thank you Steve!
This was our first experience with AirBnB and the first opportunity to travel back to San Francisco since 1989. It couldn't have gone any better. The residence in Sausalito was easy to find and with a little trepidation, we climbed the stairs, let ourselves in and felt like we had just come home. The apartment was inviting, clean and spacious for our family of 5. The view is as shown in the photos and the location is simply superb. It's a 5 min walk to the SF Ferry and close all shops, restaurants and Golden Gate Bridge. Parking was onsite which was a bonus although we hardly used the car. All in all, a wonderful experience with Steve available should we wish to make contact.
Our stay at Steve's place was fantastic. The location of this duplex is wonderful. Super easy to get into the city or to points North, and one of the best parts about the location is that it has a high "walkability" score with tons of coffee options, and nice markets nearby. Our family of four was quite comfortable in this space. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were nice. If you have mobility issues, however, this might not be the place for you, as there are a lot of stairs. Fortunately, that was not an issue for us :-)

I grew up in San Francisco, but have made Sausalito my home. Its rich history and connection to all things watersport are why I love to be here. A sailor from a young age, I have recently taken up outrigger canoeing and stand-up paddleboard. I’m an avid cyclist who uses his car as little as possible while enjoying the many wonderful bikeways of Marin County. I’m a history buff who’s not shy about talking politics, religion or economics and I follow the markets closely. I’m happy to share an insider’s knowledge of the Bay Area’s history, biking trails or local hot spots.
