3-2 Cottage in a great location

House - Private room · Oglesby Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35209, United States

The Space

This house is in a great part of town, walking distance to Gian Marco's Italian Restaurant and JoJo's cafe along with access to Lakeshore Trail. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that I have owned for six years. Along with the bedrooms, there is a living room, spacious kitchen, and dining room.

Guests should expect a nice neighborhood and a great house in a city I love and hold dear.

The neighborhood is very friendly and unique. There are nearby restaurants as well as sidewalks and walking trails.

There are bus stops but no nearby, regular transit.

The place is unique because it is in a very convenient and friendly part of Birmingham. I have worked hard to make it a great place to live and stay!

  • Gail and Parker (the dog ;)) are the best hosts! Really enjoyed the fantastic meal and great conversation! Thanks so much for having us, Gail! :)

  • We did not have a chance to stay at Gail's house for long, but she was very accommodating and we really enjoyed her place. Gail was very accessible and made the whole process very easy and stress free. Wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Gail was wonderful. The stay was very accommodating, and it was wonderful meeting Parker, too!

  • This sweet little cottage is so cozy! After a very exhausting weekend, we were thrilled to stay one night in such a comfortably environment. Gail was friendly and kind and very accommodating. Thanks, Gail!

  • Very considerate and friendly hostess, cute and cozy home, sweet well-mannered dog, and convenient location. Gail offered to pick up supplies at the grocery, was prompt in repairing a mechanical malfunction, and had good advice on things to do in town. Separate twin beds were ideal for my friend and me. They may not be the perfect setup for traveling couples desiring closer proximity to each other. Overall good value –more comfortable and friendlier than a comparably priced hotel.

  • Gail and Parker were great hosts. Their house was so cute and homey. We were more than comfortable in the roomy house and were given tons of helpful suggestions for our first visit to Birmingham. Her dog Parker was a sweetheart and we had fun petting him. We'd all recommend staying with Gail. Added bonus-she also had really good smelling hand soap.

  • This is our first air B&B experience and it was extraordinary! We really enjoyed the ability to walk around the neighborhood even though the weather was a little chilly for Birmingham. Gail was very flexible with our schedule and accommodated us nicely. Felt like relaxing at a home away from home.

  • Gail was a great host and her home is lovely. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Her house is located in a lovely neighborhood within short walking distance (less than 1-10th mile) of two excellent local restaurants, which is really great at the end of a day of site-seeing/work/etc. A small shopping area with a few additional local stores, a really nice local coffee shop, etc. is a delightfully pleasant 15-20 minute walk away through a very pretty residential neighborhood.

  • Gail is a delightful host and she has the sweetest dog. The house is south of Birmingham in an older residential neighborhood. The yards are full of huge shade trees.

You can walk to a couple of restaurants, one good and one excellent. It feels safe to walk around, even after dark.

    The house is very comfortable.

A couple of suggestions for Birmingham. Be sure and see the Civil Rights Museum. It is excellent. There is a great little restaurant about two blocks from the museum.called the Homecoming Cafe. They serve regional food and the prices seem fair.

We were able to join a "wine and cheese hike" in Ruffner (spelling?) Park. It is a great view of the city and nice company.

  • Gail's home was charming and welcoming, and the decor details were delightful. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. She was not at home and made sure to check in on us to see if we needed anything. I was not expecting a crock pot of okra stew upon my arrival, but Gail insisted on sharing it with us. I would stay here again.
