About this listing
Small private house in friendly, convenient neighborhood.
This house is in a great part of town, walking distance to Gian Marco's Italian Restaurant and JoJo's cafe along with access to Lakeshore Trail. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that I have owned for eight years. Along with the bedrooms, there is a living room, spacious kitchen, and dining room.
Guests should expect a nice neighborhood and a great house in a city I love and hold dear.
The neighborhood is very friendly and unique. There are nearby restaurants as well as sidewalks and walking trails.
There are bus stops but no nearby, regular transit.
The place is unique because it is in a very convenient and friendly part of Birmingham.

It is my own home that I own, so I expect just respect and reasonable use of house amenities.
We stayed overnight at Gail's cottage and loved the quiet atmosphere outside of Birmingham. Gail let us know that she wasn't going to be home when we got in and left the key for us. We went out for dinner at a great Thai place nearby and when we got back chatted with Gail before going to bed. In the morning she left homemade lemon bars out for us - a very sweet thought! We stopped at Publix grocery and the post office, both very close, before heading back onto the highway. All in all this was a great overnight for two tired travelers!
We had a great time. It was a nice spot to stay. Gail and pup were both nice and welcoming.
Birmingham is a beautiful city, and Gail has a beautiful house. Despite a slight mix up where she was not available to let us in when we arrived, we had a great stay. She left us coffee and granola bars in the morning. The beds were very comfortable.
Our host was friendly but not intrusive. Her home was quiet in a wonderful neighborhood near where I grew up so I loved it. Pete was not a noisy dog and very nice. It was exactly as presented - very clean and quiet. Perfect airbnb!
Cosy bed in a cosy room in a cosy house...even gail's dog was cosy...
and if you don't know Birmingham its also in a cosy 'burb at the right end of town where i also managed to find the best BLT midnight sandwich ever...
Ideal peaceful, tranquil first night after a 10hr transatlantic flight...Thoroughly recommended
I had an excellent stay at Gail's house as I was passing through Birmingham on a cross-country road trip. Gail was incredibly accommodating and nice, her house was clean and exactly as advertised. I would definitely recommend staying with her!
The listing description was very accurate. The house is adorable in a nice neighborhood and close to Birmingham which has a lot of great to see and things to do. Our stay was short, but very nice. Would stay here again!
About the Host, Gail Harper
I am a responsible but laid back person, owner of the house as well as my dog, Parker. I have always loved to travel and enjoy adventures meeting new people and learning about new places. I currently have a private room with private bathroom available or you can rent the whole house if requested. I preferably like to use this on the weekends so I can travel, but always enjoy the opportunity to meet new people.
5 things I can't live without: music, books, wine/ beer, good food, travel and my dog, Parker.
See "Rock Out In Birmingham" in New York Magazine for more info on the neighborhood and things to do.
