This house is in a great part of town, walking distance to Gian Marco's Italian Restaurant and JoJo's cafe along with access to Lakeshore Trail. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that I have owned for eight years. Along with the bedrooms, there is a living room, spacious kitchen, and dining room.
Guests should expect a nice neighborhood and a great house in a city I love and hold dear.
The neighborhood is very friendly and unique. There are nearby restaurants as well as sidewalks and walking trails.
There are bus stops but no nearby, regular transit.
The place is unique because it is in a very convenient and friendly part of Birmingham.

It is my own home that I own, so I expect just respect and reasonable use of house amenities.
We never crossed paths with Gail while in town but she was very accommodating and more than willing to help out a couple of visiting B'ham newbies. The price, convenience, and central location of the cottage in the Homewood area made for a great trip. I had to spend a few hours two (weekday) mornings working, so Gail's big dining room table and french press were the perfect tools. This neighborhood was quiet, peaceful and friendly during our stay. Recommend!
Gail's home was cozy and clean. Despite her being away for the duration of our stay we felt very welcome and comfortable. She was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed! The neighborhood was really cute and very close to lots of good restaurants. Gail's home is the perfect launching point to explore Birmingham!
Gail was sweet. However, the accommodations were not as listed. Per the listing, we thought we would have our own room. Upon arriving, we were presented two options: to sleep in the living room or to sleep in Gail's room. We didn't accept the latter because we felt awkward displacing her. Early in the morning we were awoken by activity in the kitchen. There were also no sleeping pillows presented -- only hard decorative pillows. We were frustrated / slightly amused when we drove the 10 minutes into town and noticed a Motel 6 that had listings available (closer to Birmingham) for $20 cheaper. Over-all, the experience was awkward, uncomfortable, and inconvenient.
Really great stay. Gail was kind and accommodating. She was even willing to check us in at 1am the first day, which was a huge relief.
This is my second stay. Again, good location. You are a block from a fabulous restaurant, a couple blocks from groceries, and a couple of minutes from the freeway. The house is cute. My only disappointment was not seeing Gail and her pup as they were off house sitting while we were there.
Clean, comfortable, and as advertised. Easy check- in and out. Nice neighborhood. Italian Restaurant nearby was superb.
Gail is a great host. Her home is in a quiet and quaint part of Birmingham. The guest room has two twin beds and the bathroom is right next door. Gail was very friendly and easy to work with, and she guided me to a nice bike path nearby as well as an excellent coffee shop.
I am a responsible, but laid back person, owner of the house as well as my dog, Parker. I currently have a private room with private bathroom available or you can rent the whole house if requested. I preferably like to use this on the weekends so I can travel, but always enjoy the opportunity to meet new people.
I grew up in Birmingham and most of my family lives in the area. I like to run, water-ski, garden, and play soccer. I have always loved to travel and enjoy adventures meeting new people and learning about new places.
5 things I can't live without: music, books, wine/ beer, good food, travel and my dog, Parker.
