Interaction with Guests

The space is located in the heart of residential East Harlem within the borough of Manhattan. East Harlem is a neighborhood that is alive with history and culture and is really one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the city. In recent years the neighborhood has rapidly changed with new condos sprouting up everywhere (some even with doormen). So far, the area has mostly resisted the invasion of soul-crushing corporate eateries in favor of mom-and-pop shops that keep the neighborhood's distinct character alive.
The space is convenient to Laguardia Airport, Grand Central station, and Penn Station all of which can be reached by public transportation. It is a short walk to 5 different subway lines, and you can be in Midtown Manhattan--Broadway theaters, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue--within 30 minutes, door-to-door. A 30-40-minute subway ride brings you to trendy neighborhoods like Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Soho, and Tribeca.

Khalid's space was just as he said; cozy and good enough for one person. The futon was even cozier than I thought. The apartment is very tidy and the basics were readily available. He is very helpful, more so in person. Very respectful of one's space and responsive to your questions and needs. The location is also very convenient, in the middle of everything from transport to feeding etc. I would definitely stay there again over the pricey hotels. Overall, nice experience.
Khalid is a great host who lets you have your space yet checks in with you to see if you have any questions about the apartment and/or the neighborhood. He was extremely flexible with my check-in time, which I greatly appreciated since I was driving to the city. The room was exactly what I expected so there were no surprises. Overall, it was a good place to be for a visit to NYC.
Khalid is a great host who gives you lots of personal space. I only had a couple interactions with him, but I could tell he was very polite and helpful. The room was exactly as described, and the place was very clean.
Khalid has a cozy and clean apartment that is situated in a good spot in Harlem. Its quiet and is a comfortable place to stay.
This is probably the best price-benefit-ratio you'll find in Manhattan: You get your (small) own room, not just a sofa in the living room. You get a friendly and supportive host who is there, if you have questions - but who doesn't besiege you. The flat is close to two Sub stations (express lines!), so you can head downtown in no time. There are delis on several corners. And: Harlem is very uncomplicated to stay. Would definitely be my choice again.
