Penny was a fantastic host, and the studio is very spacious, clean and private. The studio is large, with plenty of room to spread out. There's a double bed, desk and chair, sofa and space to hang clothes. There is also a wide screen TV in the room. There are full tea/coffee making facilities, as well as Penny's delicious home-made cakes! You have your own bathroom and shower, with toiletries provided.
The area is lovely, and there are lots of shops and a wide variety of restaurants on your doorstep. It is also very easy to walk to the CBD, or just a couple of stops on the tram. A wide variety of breakfast cereals/toast and fresh juice provided, and full use of the kitchen if you don't feel like eating out.
Penny was extremely welcoming, and very understanding when my flight was cancelled and I was 4 hours late! She gave me lots of suggestions of things to do in Melbourne, as well as providing maps and guides.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Penny's space to anyone looking for a home away from home in Melbourne.
I have been fortunate enough to stay in some incredible hotels around the world. None of these have come close to making me feel as welcome and at home as Penny and John. The clean, spacious studio with its own bathroom and toilet were the perfect space to enjoy being in transit. Thank you guys. You're two warm and generous people who made me feel very welcome in your lovely home.
I had a great time in Penny's apartment during my stay. Penny was a very nice host - her banana bread legendary!
Penny was fantastic, very accomodating and was able to meet all my needs.
She paid special attention to small details. The whole experience was wonderful. e.g. the light was left on at night to make sure I found the place. She had cake and fruits ready for me when I arrived.
Highly, highly recommended. I would stay with Penny again!
Penny was an absolutely amazing host. She was very welcoming and helpful. She gave me helpful advice about Port Melbourne and its surroundings. It's only a 10 Minute Walk to the Beach at Port Melbourne. The house is very nice and the room/appartment is very spacious and beautiful. I highly recommend a visit to Port Melbourne if you would like to stay somewhere a little less busy, but still very close to the CBD. Staying with Penny was fantastic :)
It’s been great staying at Penny’s: she really enjoys hosting people in her beautiful house and she’s great at that.
The room was big, spacious, perfectly clean (and so was the bathroom and rest of the house) and the location is perfect: quite neighbourhood, very close to public transportation and just 20 minutes walk from the city centre.
Penny gave me lots of advice about what to do and see in Melbourne and surroundings; cereals, eggs, milk and coffee were available for me to have for breakfast and twice she surprised me with freshly baked, delicious cookies. She even provided me with a public transport card pre-charged with 10 AUD.
My advice: if you travel to Australia, don't miss out Melbourne and if you are in Melbourne stay at Penny’s.
Place was as described - spacious - could use the kitchen which was great - good info to explore the city - quiet neighbourhood - slept well and was rested for the day
