The Space

We have travelled extensively and have appreciated the hospitality and the knowledge of the people we have stayed with. We would like to return that hospitality.

We are located in a quiet street in Port Melbourne. Our access to the city is 10 mins. by tram which is 5 min. walk away. Or feeling a little energetic only 25 min. walk.

If you are driving here we have free parking in the street. Or traveling from the airport there is a great airport bus that takes you to the city.
Then you take the 109 tram. Upon booking I share with you details to keep it easy.

This open, light and airy space is on the ground floor – it is private for you – we live on the next two floors. You have your own shower and toilet, tea and coffee facilities, access to free wi fi, dvd’s and cds along with a 120cm plasma tv screen. Also happy for you to use the washing machine.

The new bed is Queen size and adorned with new quality Sheridan linen.
The room contains a desk for that incidental work and a comfy couch for relaxing.

Our location is fabulous for city access for the Australian Open Tennis, theatre and business. Conference centres are only 10mins walk away. The Grand Prix in Albert Park is 20min walk or easy tram access. We are only 3 tram stops from the Crown Casino or a 15 min walk. Book now for the Grand Prix.
We are in a great location for the Comedy Festival and Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Along with the Melbourne Cup.

Port Melbourne has bay beaches, innovative cafes, boutique pubs and top class restaurants.

City sights and Collins St shopping is only a tram ride away.

Happy for you to have access to the fridge to store beverages and snacks. Also complete use of the kitchen is fine.
Light - basic breakfast supplies are available for your use.

The closet café is a 6 min. walk. In the evening if you wish to dine locally we are close to many historic pubs with amazing food. Ask me where to go for a local’s night.

To assist with your stay I have put together an information folder on what to do where to go and where to eat – inclusive of a myki card for travel on the tram.

We are Gay friendly.

I keep the calendar up to date. This assists with the instant book option.

You can easily relax, recharge your energy and come and go as you please. You are very private from our living space and as appropiate there is informal interaction.

  • Penny and John are a lovely couple who made my 1 st stay in Melbourne comfortable and really helped get my bearings as a newbie to this great city . Penny really was helpful and welcoming as was John . I even got a home cooked meal and a treat on arrival . The location was fabulous and an easy walk to the tram ride to the city . Shops were a nice walk away , a pub and a cafe .
The room was decorated nicely with a concrete floor and heating with rugs so was cosy as well even though there was no door there was screening and privacy . I look forward to staying with my new family again .
    Thanks guys

  • Penny and John made our stay in Melbourne very special. We walked in to a beautiful room with flowers and fruit and then, upstairs in the kitchen, John warmly welcomed us with a shared cup of coffee and delicious French pastry. The apartment was exactly as described and its location in an interesting area close to the CBD was perfect for us. Penny was a delight to talk to and so knowledgeable about her city. They are both friendly, thoughtful of their guests' comfort and generous with sharing their home and facilities. Nothing was too much trouble; however, when we wanted privacy we had that too. Because of their suggestions, we saw places and did things we would otherwise have missed. A real bonus was having our car parked for free outside the front door in a quiet, safe street. What an advantage that was. Many thanks to you both for a happy holiday. We would love to come back.

  • Penny and John are welcoming, generous and kind hosts. We arrived late at night but everything was set out for us and nothing was too much trouble such as sourcing a stroller for the few days we were there. Penny has plenty of tips for getting around and even gave us loaded Myki cards for the trams!

Thank you Penny and John for a wonderful stay.

  • Penny (email hidden)! She opens her kitchen to guests and baked some excellent brownies to share while I was there. The room is large, comfortable and private. The location makes it easy to get downtown or to several of Melbourne's charming neighborhoods. Definitely a good choice for Melbourne visitors.
