We decided to head to Charleston last minute and we needed a place pretty quickly. Justin was immediate in responding to my inquiry and was very accommodating to my compressed schedule, even during the team USA world cup game against Belgium. The place was clean, well decorated, and we found is slept 3 men who were 6'1 at the shortest very comfortably. The place is located very near everything you'd want to see. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone staying in Charleston.
Great apartment and location. It was clean and spacious. Very pleased with our stay.
This Airbnb was fantastic! Great location, well equipped with vintage flair. We walked everywhere, East Bay St and Kings St are moments away. There is a grocery store just across the street which is really nice. Even though it's a drive we would definitely recommend trips to Drayton Hall and Middleton Place. The city is fantastic and the apartment was the icing on the cake!
Don't be put off by the building or hallways. The apartment, while not fancy, was pleasantly decorated. The kitchen was well supplied. The living room was roomy. Unfortunately there was a bit of trouble with the tv and wi-fi. The bedroom was spacious and had a walk-in closet. The pool was closed while we were there which was a disappointment to me. We were close to all the action of the Spoleto Festival and to very good restaurants. A very nice stay
Like staying at a friend's place! Comfortable and very convenient to walking around Charleston for Spoleto events. Easy and secure in and out, 2 parking spots included, which is a big deal downtown. Everything we'd need was there, nice decor, full kitchen and balcony was lovely in the evening.
Well, the weekend started a little rocky because of my mistake. My wife and I showed up one night early (Friday instead of Saturday) close to midnight and began texting Justin and Shauna when we couldn't get into the apartment. Justin rushed over to help us even though it was totally our fault; he went so far as to help carry our bags back downstairs and then called to reserve us a room at another hotel 2 minutes away! So far above and beyond!
The room itself was perfect. Very quaint, made us feel right at home. Location was in the heart of all the activity, so we didn't use the car all weekend! It was nice to be just a 2 minute walk from Harris Teeter, too.
Thanks again, Justin and Shuana!
This apartment was in a great location and very convenient. It has a nice porch and is walking distance to everything in the heart of town. Good well equipped kitchen which we enjoyed. Not a large space but very comfortable and functional. Communal washing machines worked well too. Pool was closed during winter season.
The Heart of Downtown is perfect for a couple who wish to be near the restaurants, shopping, Market, and Historic District. The apartment is quite comfortable and convenient. The hosts are helpful and great sources of information,
we will stay again.
Although we started our stay at Justin and Shauna with some anxieties, eventually it became a wonderful place to stay at: a pleasantly decorated one bedroom condo with a kitchen well equipped AND located at an ideal place in Charleston. We hardly used the car that was parked in its own parking spot - except to go grocery shopping, which turns out super easy.. since it was two blocks up the road (no need for the car!!).
the apartment was nicely decorated, had 2 nice tv's, wifi. was quite roomy (i stayed there alone) and i appreciated that the kitchen had all the utensils and dinnerware needed if one cared to cook which i did on various occasions during my 2 week stay.
i thought the price for the place was a bit high since it was really off season but it seems charleston has become very popular nowadays. i've been visiting the city for the past 5 years and really love it.
the apartment hallways seem a bit run down but it's my understanding that they are to be renovated in near future.
the apartment was right in the center of town and it was easy for me to get to all the places i was interested in going to. there is good security in terms of access to building is through a code system.
i would say, however, that a new mattress is about due since the one there is a bit lumpy and saggy, definitely not firm enough (the left side in particular).
i never met shauna or justin but did communicate with shauna via email before arriving and twice by phone (it took her a couple of days to get back to me on two of the 3 occasions i called) but she did email me eventually with info i'd requested.
if the mattress were replaced, i'd definitely stay there again, especially if the prices were a bit more reasonable. i did, however, enjoy my stay there.
