Master bedroom with large private bath in my Pinecrest (Miami) home. The neighborhood is very peaceful, safe, and quiet. I'm near Fairchild Tropical Garden, Matheson Hammock Park, Deering Estate, Pinecrest Gardens, and not too far from University of Miami and Zoo Miami. Also, a 30 minute drive to Homestead and good access to Everglades National Park and the Keys. This is not South Beach and probably not the best choice for someone who wants to spend most of the time at the beach since it can be a challenging drive there in Miami traffic. The nearest really good beaches are on Key Biscayne, which is also about 30 minutes away, as is the airport.
Lots of restaurants of all kinds and good shopping are close by (I don't provide food but there are many reasonable nearby choices inc. Whole Foods and Fresh Market.) WiFi, coffee maker, microwave, hair drier, iron, and TV are available in the room. I would recommend you take the Metrorail from the airport and you can easily rent a car at the local Enterprise and save some money. Not a good area for public transportation; a car is really necessary. There is plenty of space in my driveway to park your car.
Since I work, you will have privacy and be on your own for getting around. I'm willing to offer advice, though, if you want it or need it as I have lived in Miami for 40+ years. (UM grad) The entrance to the room is from the patio sliding door, next to the pool. It is attached to the house but you don't walk through the house.
A great stay for the nature minded who are looking for some quiet R & R. My guests come as guests and leave as friends.
Their room, their own private bathroom that is accessible only from their room, the patio, the pool, and of course, driveway parking.
Interaction with Guests
My guests are busy and independent as I am.
My neighborhood is a quiet, peaceful residential area.
You will need a car.
Other Things to Note
I provide a hairdryer. I have stayed in other AirBnB rooms as a guest and I can say I provide twice as much as any room I've stayed in but less access to the house.
This is a quiet neighborhood and the neighbors don't like to hear each other. One cat lives outside; no pets live in the house. The access to the room is from the sliding door that opens to the patio that you reach from going through the gate to the backyard. I have been in education my whole career and I like kids but any kids who stay here must be at least 12 and/or very good swimmers as the room is just a few feet from the deep end of the pool. No toddlers, please since there is no fence around the pool.
Jane was very helpful, even before we travel to her place, give us everything we need. Place was clean, nice space and all the accommodations need it to have a nice guest experience were there. The neighborhood was really beautiful and quite, a lot of close places to eat and shop maybe a little far from the business area of Miami, but highway will make you get there in less than 25 minutes. Will definitely go back, in my next trip to Miami.
Jane was a lovely host. Big room and very clean. With lots of extras. There was even a toothbrush which came in handy!
Great host and great quite place. All the amenities you'd expect from a nice motel plus the added benefits of a local host.
Very welcoming and nice place. Jane was an excellent host and even gave me free beer left over from previous tenants. It's a quite neighborhood and she has a pool. The bathroom is large and has a microwave and coffee maker with a closet full niceties like coffee grounds, tea and plastic utensils.
Jane was an excellent host. Couldn't have asked for an easier experience for a one night stay. Accommodations were great. She had everything that we needed and then some! Will be back!
The owner is very warm and hospitable. The room is great! It has a beautifu padio. And the location is great too. There are several restaurants pretty close.
We had a great 5 night stay with Jane. Would gladly return when in the Miami area.
I attended and graduated from the University of Miami and have worked in education since 1974, first as a middle school teacher, then a special ed teacher, and have been a school social worker since 1992. I have lived in my present house since 1987. For years, I was listed with a language school and enjoyed hosting international students in my home. It was also a great experience for my children. It's fun to meet new people!
