About this listing
The large room has a trundle bed (a twin with another twin under it that can come out and up to form a king), table and chairs, armchair and kitchenette area with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker (only - no sink or stove). There is a high-definition television with basic channels as well as Netflix and Hulu Plus streaming services.
To get to the room you don't need to enter anyone's private space so you can have as discreet and private a stay as you like (e.g. no issues with coming home very late.)
The room faces south and is in the rear of the building so it has lovely light, is quiet with view of leafy trees.
The bathroom is off the hall just outside the room and is shared with one other person staying on your floor.
***Note: The room is great for couples coming for a few days or a week or so. Its also great for one person for a sublet of up to three months, but we don't recommend it for a couple for this longer duration***
Interaction with Guests
Your hosts live downstairs and are New York City lovers who can provide numerous insider tips so you can get the most of your visit. However, we both work, you'll be doing a lot of sightseeing, and we have a self check-in system - so there's a chance we won't see terribly much of each other.
The room is in a lovely brownstone on a tree-lined block in historic Crown Heights just off the exciting commercial strip of Franklin Avenue that has a great selection of cafe's, restaurants and shops. Beautiful Eastern Parkway, the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Prospect Park are a walk away.
The whole city is at your finger tips as four subway stations are within walking distance (C at Franklin Ave (Fulton St), 2/3/4/5 at Franklin Ave (Eastern Parkway), A at Nostrand Ave and S at Park Place)
Rule 1: Have a good time!
Rule 2: Don't worry about being discrete - leaving early coming home late - your room is apartment like and you don't need to go through anyone's space to get there.
Rule 3: No smoking
About the Host, R J
We (my wife and I) have very much enjoyed hosting over these last two years. We love New York and Brooklyn and can provide insider tips on getting the most from your visit. Our neighborhood has a lot to offer and we enjoy sharing our home and the joy that our guests have gotten from our local offerings.
We have young children so that keeps us busy. But we have a lot of fun taking advantage of all Brooklyn has to offer - great parks, great people and great neighborhoods.
We have also travelled a few times with AirBnb and had great experiences with other hosts.
