About this listing
**NEW IN OCT. '15 Private kitchen & gorgeous remodeled bathroom** Apartment-like in a great location with four nearby subway lines that provide quick access to Manhattan & just off of Franklin Ave, Brooklyn's most dynamic dining & drinking corridor.
**ROOMS UPDATED & ENHANCED IN FALL 2015** It is hard to beat this suite. There is now a sink in the kitchen-like area so you basically have your own tiny kitchen. Two burners, toaster & microwave ovens, blender, plateware, etc. The shared bathroom is huge and has been completely renovated. It is gorgeous with claw foot tub, and other great details. The large room now has an extremely comfortable queen sized bed. There are a table and two chairs for eating, planning your day or getting in some work, as well as a comfy armchair for relaxin. There is a high-definition television with basic channels along with Netflix and Hulu Plus streaming services.
The room faces south and is in the rear of the building so it has lovely light and is very quiet with a calming view of leafy trees.
The bathroom is off the hall just outside the room and is shared with one other person staying on your floor.
To get to the room you don't need to enter anyone's private space, so you can have as discreet and private a stay as you like (e.g. no issues with coming home very late.) It's like staying in a European style hotel but your room has a kitchen!
Interaction with Guests
Your hosts live downstairs and are New York City lovers who can provide numerous insider tips so you can get the most of your visit. However, we both work and have childeren, you'll be doing a lot of sightseeing, and we have a self check-in system - so there's a chance we won't see terribly much of each other.
The room is in a lovely brownstone on a tree-lined block in historic Crown Heights just off the exciting commercial strip of Franklin Avenue that has a great selection of cafe's, restaurants and shops. Beautiful Eastern Parkway, the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Prospect Park are a walk away.
The whole city is at your fingertips as four subway stations are within walking distance (C at Franklin Ave (Fulton St), 2/3/4/5 at Franklin Ave (Eastern Parkway), A at Nostrand Ave and S at Park Place)
Rule 1: Have a good time!
Rule 2: Be a respectful neighbor, but don't worry about leaving early coming home late - your room is apartment-like and you don't need to go through anyone's space to get there.
Rule 3: No smoking, no pets.
We (my wife and I) have very much enjoyed hosting over these last two years. We love New York and Brooklyn and can provide insider tips on getting the most from your visit. Our Crown Heights neighborhood has a lot to offer and we enjoy sharing our home and the joy that our guests have gotten from our local offerings. We are fairly new to Sullivan County, but we really enjoy exploring its amazing natural beauty, towns and festival sites in places like Narrowsburg, Calicoon and Bethel Woods.
We have young children so that keeps us busy. But we have a lot of fun taking advantage of all Brooklyn and Sullivan County have to offer - great parks, great people and great neighborhoods.
We have also travelled a few times with AirBnb and had great experiences with other hosts.
