Beautiful Alberta Arts District Apt

House - Entire home/apt · Northeast 15th Avenue, Portland, OR 97211, United States

The Space

This newly renovated basement apartment is located in a classic 1923 home 2 blocks from the exciting Alberta Arts District. You have your own private entrance at the side of the house and there is a second door which leads you into the basement apartment. The space is designed to be contemporary in style and yet peaceful in ambience, with warm colors and a mix of carpet and hardwood throughout. With a large fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with cable television and DVD player, uniquely designed bathroom and an extremely cozy bedroom, this apartment will appeal to many who are looking for the perfect vacation rental.

The Alberta neighborhood is packed with restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries and retail shops. There is the Alberta Rose Theater that has great shows and performances and of course plenty of galleries showing great local art work. During the summer months, the largest street fair in Portland takes place every Last Thursday which is an event not to be missed. However a 30 second walk from my house takes you to a small neighborhood corner that has Pok Pok Noi and Grain and Gristle, two of the best reviewed restaurants in Portland. There is also a coffee shop and two bars located there. There are also plenty of parks in the area, four of which are within walking or cycling distance.

If you need to stock up on groceries there is 'Whole Foods' grocery store which is located at the bottom of the hill from me and there is also the local favorite 'New Seasons' and 'Safeway', both of which are five minutes away. We also have our own Farmers Market every Sunday between 9am and 2pm from March through October and it's located 8 blocks away.

If you are driving, there is plenty of parking on Going which is the cross street 20 feet from my house. However my house is also conveniently located right on the bus line with the bus stop being right across the street. This line takes you straight to downtown without having to change buses in less then 30 minutes. Need a Zip car? There is a stop right off Alberta two blocks away.

I am a very accommodating and easy going host who is more than happy to answer your questions and give you insight into all the fun activities and sights that Portland has to offer. I look forward to welcoming you to my home. Whether you are here for an active holiday or a peaceful getaway, I am sure my apartment will be the perfect home away from home.

  • Second time round and another excellent stay. The flat is exactly as described, very well cared for and spotless. Easy parking, walking distance to many great cafes and restaurants, and bus stop just opposite to go downtown. Aysha and Heidi are as good hosts as you could hope for: attentive, respectful, flexible and super friendly. Wonderful stay.

  • Aysha and Heidi have a beautiful spot in an excellent part of town. I was able to walk to good food and shopping in the Alberta Arts District. Very clean and accommodating and they were both available to answer any questions I had. Thanks again.

  • This lovely basement apartment in the Alberta district far exceeded our expectations. It is exceptionally roomy and the decor is elegant and tasteful. WE loved the shower set up and the clean clean bathroom. As my husband and I are both writers, we were delighted to find that both the living room area and the bedroom offered "desk" set ups for our computers and writing that allowed us to separate. The kitchen is fully equipped, even with some spices, sugar, salt and pepper, and we had fun cooking meals, and even entertaining our son and his wife for dinner there. Aysha and Heidi were responsive to our inquiries both before we arrived and during our stay, but weren't at all intrusive. The apartment is so quiet and peaceful. We will be going back!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful time here. The apartment is modern, spotless and has everything you need. You can tell Aysha & Heidi take great pride looking after it. Everything was easy to use, the bed was sooo comfy and the shower was great. The flat is quiet, has lots of room and is in a great location in a really cool area of Portland. We were walking distance from lots of great restaurants, cafes and bars. You must check out Extracto cafe just round the corner for amazing coffee. We loved Portland and would definitely stay here again. Brilliant!! Thank you.

  • Having done several airbnb's the world over, I can honestly say this was one of the smoother, easier and most pleasing rentals I've yet enjoyed. True to other reviewers' comments, the place is warm, super clean, quiet (despite being just off a busy road), and brightly lit (which is important, given it is a basement apartment). The aesthetics are lovely -- clean lines, a bit Zen -- with just enough creature comforts and well thought-out plans to make it feel luxurious and worth every cent. Communication was fast and easy.

  • My wife and I travel a fair amount - 3 to 4 times a year - and have used Airbnb quite a bit.

Aysha and Heidi's Alberta apartment was easily the most comfortable, accommodating, and convenient place we've stayed anywhere. Some details:

    - Great location. Coffee shop, restaurants, and beer/wine bar on the corner, and only 4 blocks from the shops on Alberta
    - Pics are a true representation of the layout, quality, amenities in the apartment. No bait and switch.
    - Extremely comfortable bed, AWESOME shower, clean towels, quaint and totally sufficient kitchenette
    - Cable TV and wifi

Without a doubt, we will be staying with Aysha and Heidi again when we go back to Portland.

I first came to Portland thinking I would only stay for a few months. 20 years later I am still here and loving every minute of it. It's a great city that I have no doubt you will also fall in love with.
