This newly renovated basement apartment is located in a classic 1923 home 2 blocks from the exciting Alberta Arts District. You have your own private entrance at the side of the house and there is a second door which leads you into the basement apartment. The space is designed to be contemporary in style and yet peaceful in ambience, with warm colors and a mix of carpet and hardwood throughout. With a large fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with cable television and DVD player, uniquely designed bathroom and an extremely cozy bedroom, this apartment will appeal to many who are looking for the perfect vacation rental.
The Alberta neighborhood is packed with restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries and retail shops. There is the Alberta Rose Theater that has great shows and performances and of course plenty of galleries showing great local art work. During the summer months, the largest street fair in Portland takes place every Last Thursday which is an event not to be missed. However a 30 second walk from my house takes you to a small neighborhood corner that has Pok Pok Noi and Grain and Gristle, two of the best reviewed restaurants in Portland. There is also a coffee shop and two bars located there. There are also plenty of parks in the area, four of which are within walking or cycling distance.
If you need to stock up on groceries there is 'Whole Foods' grocery store which is located at the bottom of the hill from me and there is also the local favorite 'New Seasons' and 'Safeway', both of which are five minutes away. We also have our own Farmers Market every Sunday between 9am and 2pm from March through October and it's located 8 blocks away.
If you are driving, there is plenty of parking on Going which is the cross street 20 feet from my house. However my house is also conveniently located right on the bus line with the bus stop being right across the street. This line takes you straight to downtown without having to change buses in less then 30 minutes. Need a Zip car? There is a stop right off Alberta two blocks away.
I am a very accommodating and easy going host who is more than happy to answer your questions and give you insight into all the fun activities and sights that Portland has to offer. I look forward to welcoming you to my home. Whether you are here for an active holiday or a peaceful getaway, I am sure my apartment will be the perfect home away from home.
There is no smoking inside the house however you are welcome to smoke outside. Unfortunately we do not allow any pets.
Very cool place. Has everything you need. Is only two blocks from a ton of shops and restaurants.
My wife and I were very happy with how new and clean everything was. The place seems like it was just remodeled and updated, which was awesome.
Aysha was very nice and repspected our privacy, but let us know that if we needed anything, she would be very happy to help. Would stay definitely here again next time we are in Portland.
Aysha's apartment was so awesome! Very clean, quiet. It's built underneath her house, but it's still very quiet and I loved how everything was walking distance. Will definitely book again when I go back to Portland.
Aysha's lovely abode was the perfect getaway for our trip. From the moment we stepped in, we felt as if we were home. The cleanliness and overall layout of the apartment felt very welcoming. Modern fixtures and appliances everywhere, internet, cable TV, and the most comfortable duvet I've ever been privileged to sleep under. Aysha was very communicative during our visit, ensuring that if there was anything we needed or any questions that we may have had, were taken care of. The guestbook, and the "guidebook" to her apartment were very nice touches also. We would love to stay here again and welcome anyone to book with confidence!
I have stayed in many airbnb units and I must say this was my favorite. It actually is nicer than the photos depict. Aysha was great at check-in educating us on all of the amenities in the neighborhood. On Super Bowl Sunday we locked our keys in the unit and Aysha had to hurry back and let us in. We never were made to feel bad about our mistake. It is a quiet area with shops just a block away to get art, groceries, wine and other fun and needed items. I have already recommended the unit to 3 couples since our visit. I hope they stay at Aysha's home, they will love it.
Our host, Aysha Ghazoul met us at the appointed time and showed us around the apartment, talked about how she designed the space and gave us tips on the neighborhood. She was friendly, gracious and helpful. We were familiar with the Alberta Arts District because our daughter lives in the area. It's funky and fun with one of a kind shops and a variety of restaurants that personify Portland. With a bus stop into downtown right across the street, the location is terrific. The apartment itself is just beautiful and resembles what you see in design magazines and HGTV makeovers. Everything looks brand new. The kitchen is fully equipped and the walk in shower was a delight. The bedroom is huge and the bed extremely comfortable. It felt as if we were staying in an amazing five star hotel suite. We hope to stay there during our next trip to Portland. It was perfect.
Aysha's space was great! Super cozy, comfortable, and Aysha was very welcoming and accomodating (she was so sweet and brought us extra blankets and pillows). The location was perfect - super close to the main drag in Alberta District and also a lovely neighborhood for walking or jogging (and easy to get to other areas of Portland). I will definitely be booking this again for my next stay in Portland!
beautiful apartment with excellent amenities. great neighborhood right on alberta and pok pok nui is in the immediate vicinity. I would highly recommend this spot for a single occupant or a couple. super spacious, great kitchen, nice living room and solid wifi.
I first came to Portland thinking I would only stay for a few months. 20 years later I am still here and loving every minute of it. It's a great city that I have no doubt you will also fall in love with.
