The space

This newly renovated basement apartment is located in a classic 1923 home 2 blocks from the exciting Alberta Arts District. You have your own private entrance at the side of the house and there is a second door which leads you into the basement apartment. The space is designed to be contemporary in style and yet peaceful in ambience, with warm colors and a mix of carpet and hardwood throughout. With a large fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with cable television and DVD player, uniquely designed bathroom and an extremely cozy bedroom, this apartment will appeal to many who are looking for the perfect vacation rental.

The Alberta neighborhood is packed with restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries and retail shops. There is the Alberta Rose Theater that has great shows and performances and of course plenty of galleries showing great local art work. During the summer months, the largest street fair in Portland takes place every Last Thursday which is an event not to be missed. However a 30 second walk from my house takes you to a small neighborhood corner that has Pok Pok Noi and Grain and Gristle, two of the best reviewed restaurants in Portland. There is also a coffee shop and two bars located there. There are also plenty of parks in the area, four of which are within walking or cycling distance.

If you need to stock up on groceries there is 'Whole Foods' grocery store which is located at the bottom of the hill from me and there is also the local favorite 'New Seasons' and 'Safeway', both of which are five minutes away. We also have our own Farmers Market every Sunday between 9am and 2pm from March through October and it's located 8 blocks away.

If you are driving, there is plenty of parking on Going which is the cross street 20 feet from my house. However my house is also conveniently located right on the bus line with the bus stop being right across the street. This line takes you straight to downtown without having to change buses in less then 30 minutes. Need a Zip car? There is a stop right off Alberta two blocks away.

I am a very accommodating and easy going host who is more than happy to answer your questions and give you insight into all the fun activities and sights that Portland has to offer. I look forward to welcoming you to my home. Whether you are here for an active holiday or a peaceful getaway, I am sure my apartment will be the perfect home away from home.

She's a great host. The place was immaculately clean, everything organized, and exactly as her post describes. Parking was not an issue on the other side of the street or on the side block. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and the neighborhood felt safe.

Really can't recommend this spot enough. This was the cleanest apartment I've ever been in, and my husband is a neat feel. Amazing! Super convenient for so many reasons! Great neighborhood, excellent accessibility to towels, tp, etc. Aysha was very friendly and helpful.

This is the place to stay. Location is ideal - literal blocks from some of Portland's famous gems -- Pine State Biscuits, Alberta St, Pok Pok Noi, with easy access to rest of the city. Apartment is meticulously clean and cozy with modern bathroom and plenty of amenities. Aysha is incredibly helpful and accommodating. Will 100% stay here next time we're in Portland.

This was our 1st time using airbnb and we could not have been more pleased. The location was great lots of places to walk to and parking was easy. The apartment itself was amazing. She had everything you needed to cook and the place was super cute. Our host was friendly and very helpful. She even had a mini book that gave you a run down of the neighborhood!! I would absolutely stay here again!!!

I first came to Portland thinking I would only stay for a few months. 20 years later I am still here and loving every minute of it. It's a great city that I have no doubt you will also fall in love with.
