About this listing
Our spacious house is great for multi-family trips or larger groups, in a secluded location near Mount Snow. Kid-friendly and good for adults too. Enjoy the large deck and garden through the spring, summer, and fall!
Enjoy the run of a five bedroom house on an acre of land near the Mount Snow resort in southern Vermont.
The house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac among trees, overlooking a bend in the Deerfield river. It's a ten-minute drive to the slopes of Mount Snow, and a further half-hour to Stratton.
It sleeps ten in two kings, one queen, and two double twin bedrooms. (There's a sofabed, too, for an extra guest.)
So it's great for large groups or multi-family use.
The house is child-friendly with a cot and high chair as well of stacks of toys and other distractions (the two living areas each have TV, DVD players, and video games).
Our cleaners prep the house with fresh linens before every visit and tidy up afterwards, so you can rest assured it's ready for you. We also provide a 24/7 number you can use to reach a local property manager in case of any emergencies.
The main kitchen (remodeled in 2007) has a microwave, large fridge/freezer, gas oven and grill, coffee maker, waffle iron, and enough utensils to satisfy a master chef. We even have recipe books in the library should you feel adventurous.
The house is just minutes from a well-stocked grocery/deli that opens 8am-8pm every day of the year, so you don't need to go far to hunt down dinner!
The dining table ordinarily seats up to eight but can be extended to seat 10. We have tableware for 18 people as well as loads of glasses and mugs. And yes, there is a dishwasher!
There's lots to do in nearby Wilmington and West Dover...
Year-round: Lots of dining, shopping, and sightseeing choices.
Winter: Skiing and boarding at Mount Snow; snowmobiles all around.
Summer: Several courses within a few minutes' drive, and the house is just minutes from watersports and the beach (!) at Lake Raponda. There's fishing, too, but get a permit.
For Mount Snow ski pass info and equipment rental rates, see MountSnow-(website hidden) (airbnb strips out links!). The mountain is just 10 minutes drive up Route 100.
We've owned this house since 2004 and we still use it regularly ourselves. Friends and family love visiting.
Come see for yourself!
No smoking in the house. Other than that, please just treat the house as if it were your own.
Small dogs are OK.
We can be flexible on check-in and check-out times - just ask.
Keys are held in a lockbox and we'll give directions after the booking is completed.
On departure, we ask you to leave all trash inside the garage for later collection.
If you need any recommendations for dining or other activities, please ask.
Colin was a great host, very good about giving us information about how to find keys, even texting me when there was a power outage for a few hours at night (when we were all asleep). I'd give 5 stars overall for his hospitality, and 3.5 to the house itself as a summer destination -- I think this goes up to 4 stars in the wintertime, there's a hot tub and a cozy-looking stove to warm up around. We're considering coming back to the area when Mount Snow is in full swing the house becomes a ski chalet!
Colin was great to work with! He responded quickly and he was very flexible. The house was adorable and had tons of room for my whole family to spread out and have their own space! It was super clean and my niece had tons of fun playing with all the toys. Can't wait to come back and rent again!
We stayed at Colin's house for the Independence Day weekend. The house is nice, clean and spacious. We are a group of ten, but there is plenty of room for everyone. Although I did not meet Colin in person, he is very responsive on email. Wilmington is a pretty town on the scenic 100 byway. We had a great time, and I would highly recommend Colin's house for anyone who are coming for the Mt. Snow or just a relaxing getaway in south Vermont.
This Vermont rental was perfect for our reasonably large group needs for Solid Sound housing. The house was well laid out, had plenty of sleeping space, dishes, bathrooms, and hangout areas. Colin's instructions to enter the house were easy and convenient.
It rained much of the weekend, which left us inside at times to explore the houses wonderful CD collection. Being a group of DJs and music lovers, we had a wide variety from which to choose.
Colin was very easy to work with and we had a fantastic stay! I recommend booking with Colin.
Spent the weekend here with my friends and really enjoyed the place! It was very cozy and the 10 of us fit comfortably! Colin was very responsive with emails and easy to talk to.
Colin was a very accommodating and responsive host. We emailed him around midnight when the hot tub wasn't warming up and he quickly responded to help us troubleshoot. The house was great and fit 10 people very comfortably and was only a 15 minute drive to the base of Mt Snow
About the Host, Colin
I'm a Scotsman who calls NYC home. I've lived here since the mid-90s although I had a four-year stint in Hong Kong. I used to work for a big bank but I quit a few years ago.
I like soccer (both playing and watching), snowboarding, going to the theater, and good music (e.g. Jesus & Mary Chain, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, St Etienne). I'm also an Apple fanboy - I've even published an app.
