Our spacious house is great for multi-family trips or larger groups, in a secluded location near Mount Snow. Kid-friendly and good for adults too. Enjoy the large deck and garden through the spring, summer, and fall!

The space

Enjoy the run of a five bedroom house on an acre of land near the Mount Snow resort in southern Vermont.

The house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac among trees, overlooking a bend in the Deerfield river. It's a ten-minute drive to the slopes of Mount Snow, and a further half-hour to Stratton.

It sleeps ten in two kings, one queen, and two double twin bedrooms. (There's a sofabed, too, for an extra guest.)

So it's great for large groups or multi-family use.

The house is child-friendly with a cot and high chair as well of stacks of toys and other distractions (the two living areas each have TV, DVD players, and video games).

Our housekeeper preps the house with fresh linens before every visit and tidies up afterwards, so you can rest assured it's ready for you. We also provide a 24/7 number you can use to reach a local property manager in case of any emergencies.

The main kitchen has a microwave, large fridge/freezer, gas oven and grill, coffee maker, toaster, waffle iron, and enough utensils to satisfy a master chef. We even have recipe books in the library should you feel adventurous.

Our house is just up the hill from a well-stocked grocery/farmer's deli that opens 8am-8pm every day of the year, so you don't need to go far to hunt down dinner!

The dining table ordinarily seats up to eight but can be extended to seat 10. We have tableware for 18 people as well as loads of glasses and mugs. And yes, there is a dishwasher!

There's lots to do in nearby Wilmington and West Dover...

Year-round: Lots of dining, shopping, and sightseeing choices.
Winter: Skiing or boarding at Mount Snow; snowmobiles all around; Nordic skiing too. Sleigh rides at the Boyd Farm.

Summer: Several golf courses within a few minutes' drive, and the house is just minutes from watersports and the beach (!) at Lake Raponda. There's fishing, too, but get a permit. And of course hiking in the Green Mountains.

We've owned this house since 2004 and we still use it regularly ourselves. Friends and family love visiting.

Come see for yourself!

Guest access

Guests have full access to the house and garden, but the garage is used for storage so parking is outdoors.

Interaction with guests

We are available by phone or email during your stay, and in case of emergencies where we are unreachable, there is a local property manager.

Other things to note

There is a small grill in the garage, but we rely on anyone using it to keep it clean for the next guest. It uses small propane cartridges which are available from Shaw's supermarket in nearby Wilmington.

The hot tub is *not* active, sorry. Please don't try to use it.

Location was great close to store and shops and restaurants. House was clean and we had plenty of space.Could have had a few more basics, trash bags, paper towels etc. Overall we had a nice stay.

Response from Colin:
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Re: trash bags etc - those items should definitely be provided, so I'll pass on this feedback to the housekeeping team to make sure they check each visit. (BTW we found your daughter's watch and have mailed it back to her.)

A great place for a family gathering in the woods of Vermont. Lots of space, great toys for the kiddos and plenty of kitchen supplies for home cooking.

Wonderfully spacious home with three floors of living space, plus a deck and garden. There is a large bedroom plus living are with a sofabed and mini kitchen and washer/dryer in the basement level, 2 bedrooms with twin beds on the main level, and two large bedrooms with king beds on the top floor. They have high ceilings and are just lovely rooms. We had 9 adults and some babies and young kids with us and everyone had plenty of privacy and room to sleep. The open layout of the main floor was great for us to all socialize and we never felt cramped. The kitchen has all you need, plus a dish washer which came in handy. We were there in summer and the garden and vegetation was lush and beautiful. There is a swimming spot at a nearby lake, and an adorable farm Adams Farm where you can visit and feed the animals walking distance from the house that the kids just adored (a big hit!). We highly recommend Colin, he was very easy to communicate with and was friendly and warm. We loved staying at his house!

Colin was lovely, responsive, and always helpful! This place was absolutely perfect! It was far enough away from everything to be quiet and beautiful and contain our noise as we partied through the night for our friend's bachelorette, but only about 10 min from everything else! Wilmington town was 10 minutes away, West Dover was 7 minutes away, and a good paintball spot at Adam's Family farms was a just down the road! There's a great stereo in the house that helped us dance the night away, and you can set it to play through various speakers throughout the house, including the deck (during the day)! The whole house was clean and cozy, and had everything we could have possibly needed! Thanks Colin, for the wonderful stay!!

Colin's place is very lovely. My family had a great time there and the house is equipped with everything we needed. Close to town with a real secluded, country feel. Plenty of space for the whole family. Wonderful place for the wedding party to stay. Colin was super responsive even though I think I should have been messaging the local manager. I think Colin understood that I was a busy bride! Can't wait to visit again. The area is beautiful indeed.

I'm a Scotsman who now calls Seattle home. I've lived in the US since the mid-90s, mostly in NYC, although I had a four-year stint in Hong Kong. I used to work for a big bank but I quit a few years ago.

I like soccer (both playing and watching), snowboarding, going to the theater, and good music (e.g. Jesus & Mary Chain, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, St Etienne). I'm a proud Apple fanboy.
