If your are looking for a unique experience, then you should come to Rapolano. Teo did a wonderful job with the anicient farm house, by using modern touches to turn it into a beautiful place to relax and to connect with nature. When we arrived, the road took us far out into the countyside. Teo was waiting and then, showing us around while presenting some homemade breads and cakes for breakfast. She was an amazing host. Teo, thank you so much for everything.

Our only regret was that we didn't book longer to stay more nights as two nights was just not enough. Our family loved eating at the table in the garden and the hammock also was well used. The whole atmosphere is just so relaxing with the sounds of birds chirping and the frogs croaking in the pond. The view out the windows was breathtaking over the fields and even though it was a very hot spell while we were in Tuscany we found the house very cool and the pendant fans in the bedrooms provided enough of a breeze to keep us all cool. The home baked bread, cakes, yoghurt and jam and butter was a real treat and made us feel very welcome. We cooked dinner in the kitchen both evenings as we didn't want to leave to dine elsewhere. The tour that Teo gave us of the farm and the animals was really interesting. The wifi was also very fast and enabled us to make plans for future travels. Thanks for a wonderful memory that we will all cherish, Lissa

We arrived at Cappanacce and were met promptly by Teo, who showed us the rooms and oriented us to the property. We were greeted also with a large loaf of home-baked bread, eggs, and two large bowls of delicious fresh fruit. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. The rooms are precisely as shown in the photos, yet the photos cannot capture the immense beauty of Cappanacce. What a beautiful place. We rented Il Poderino and La Casella, and both spaces are rustic, quaint, and beautiful. Things are very beautiful all over Italy, but in the common tourist locations the "beauty" is sometimes inauthentic, fake, faux....not so at Cappanacce, where things are beautiful without even trying to be. It is a natural, relaxing setting....if you love nature and animals you will absolutely love staying here. Having eaten in restaurants every night before arriving, at Cappanacce we cooked for ourselves. I was with my family of 6 and we prepared meals together using fresh vegetables provided to us by our hosts Teo and Francesca. We sat outdoors and ate, rested in the hammock, took walks up to the farm to visit the horses. We talked together and was a very nice and memorable week. Even if you do not love farms, the location is ideal for exploring Tuscany. We spent two days at local hot spring spas (Rapolano Terme and Querciolaia), and visited Siena, Arezzo, and Montepulciano, all easy drives from Cappanacce. We drove through some of the most beautiful countryside we've ever seen in the Val D'Orcia. If you like horses, you will love talking to Teo and Francesca. Francesca was a trainer of racing thoroughbred horses and they still keep and manage racehorses here. I love racing and enjoyed learning about how these beautiful animals are bred, cared for, trained, etc. My wife and I look forward to returning some day, and we highly recommend staying at any of the apartments at Cappanacce.

Pros: the house is over 1000 years old and very charasmatic, Teo is adorable and very friendly.. the first night breakfast was perfecto! The horses were beautiful. . Cons: the place is full of ghosts (our 3 year old felt it as soon as we arrived). The heating, which you pay for extra) was not enough. We spent the night in coats and still did not feel warm. There were a few bugs in the bedrooms. The WiFi worked only in the lounge room and outside. Second night breakfast was minimal, not enough for a family of 4. Toilet paper was scarce. Water is not for human consumption. Learned this the hard way. Washing machine did not work. Water for shower was not hot at all.

Response from Teo:
Some clarifications, point by point - the Ghosts are friendly -About the heathing, during the check in I show you how does this work, how to raise, lower turn off and on, the same for the hot water. You used it , it is specified that is not included in the total cost and you have not paid full. -This is an organic farm, better some bugs than pesticides... -you are arrived during a snowstorm , it is normal that the power of the WiFi was reduced , that is mine countryside. -for two adults and two kids, (age 7 and 3) two nights the breakfat was: 20 fresh organic eggs, 2 kg homemade organic bread, 500g beacon, fresh organic different types of jams, lemon curd, organic butter, organic milk, mineral water, different types of tea and coffè, a big basket of fresh organic fruits, a tart for 8 people, two types of cereal and cookies... That is minimal???????? -two rolls of toilet paper, you ask for more and i give you another one. -you ask me if water is ok for drinking and i tell you is good for cook and wash, but not for drinking, not because it is poisonous or dangerous or contaminated, but is full of mirals salts, and is not good in case of high blood pressure or kidney stones, always drink it all including us and the ghosts.

It was a great stay in a wonderful place - very authentic rural house with all modern facilities. The homemade bread and cakes, and other products provided for breakfast were perfect in quality and quantity. We communicated with Teodora, she is a perfect host. We were shown the horses and other animals of the farm :) But if you don't want to see them - no disturbance, you won't notice them at all. I would definitely recommend staying at Francesca and Teodora's place.

Our stay in Il Poderino at Horse Farm Capannacce was lovely. The old farm house is in a gorgeous setting and has been kept very authentic. There was lots of room for our family of four and we had fun cooking and eating in the old farm kitchen. The walls in the farm house are thick which kept the apartment cool even when it was hot outside. The nearby hot springs were a wonderful experience for us and there were several good restaurants in town. The proximity to the highway made day trips easy. We were cordially greeted by Theodora and shown around the apartment. When we arrived there was a freshly baked loaf of bread and fresh vegetables from the garden in the kitchen. The kitchen was stocked with the basics so we were able to enjoy a simple dinner the first evening even though the grocery store was closed. Every day, fresh bread and once an apple cake were discreetly delivered. The washing machine was broken when we were there but Francesca was very gracious to do some laundry for us at her home. The wifi worked very well and we were able to get cell phone reception if we stepped outside. My only small caution is that prospective renters should keep in mind that this is an old farmhouse and as such they will be sharing the apartment with a variety of god's small creatures. It didn't bother us and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We also got to tour the horse farm with Theodora and saw the calves, dogs, chickens as well as the horses.

We had such a wonderful time at Francesca's farmhouse! The surroundings couldn't be more picturesque and Francesca is such a lovely host. The apartment/farmhouse is super spacious and comfortable and decorated with so many beautiful family heirlooms. It's just gorgeous. We hired a car and spent three days zooming around the countryside, checking out lots of little villages (Pienza was our favourite) and enjoying some truly incredible food and wine. Every afternoon we'd come back to our gorgeous farmyard and enjoy a glass wine in the sprawling garden space - one afternoon Francesca even took us up to feed the horses. It's a tiny bit tricky to find but just confirms instructions before you head off and you'll be fine. Its' worth the trip! Also Francesca provided us with delicious breakfast items including fresh eggs, fruit and a home made bread and tart. Which was lovely. A perfect getaway - highly recommended!
