*Note: During the months of December - January 2013/14, I ask for a 2-night minimum reservation, but will cater to less depending on the days you are looking. Message me if you are interested in fewer than 2 nights.
The apartment is located in Midtown Detroit, next door to the Majestic Theatre, and right down the street from many other attractions.
The apartment is a 1BR with a kitchen, bathroom, and living area. There are also multiple closets with plenty of space available for storing clothes and other things.
1BR: Queen size bed comfortably fitting two people, with draws and closet
Living room: Two piece sectional comfortably fitting one person on each
*Also, there is a large ottoman and three smaller ottomans as pictured, and it's more than likely possible to have a fifth person sleep comfortably as well. I am not limiting my apartment to four people and you may bring more.
Bathroom: Huge bathtub which is great for bubble baths.
Kitchen: Gas stove, fridge with condiments. There are plates and plastic-ware available.
My guarantee: My place is always clean and organized. I will also provide freshly washed sheet for the bed and two towels for the bathroom. You are free to use anything inside of the apartment, even my drawers to store your items temporarily. The heat is delivered from water radiators which tend to get noisy as they begin working, and these radiators work well. I usually turn on the fan, which will be available, or open the window if necessary. An oscillator and fan are provided. Neighbors are quiet and friendly.

We were looking for an apartment in midtown for a weekend visit to Detroit for the DIA and some eating and drinking. Chris's place is perfect. You can walk to museums, cafes, bars, but also park your car on the street for free without restrictions.
The apartment was very warm on the coldest night of the year, clean, and Chris welcomed us upon arrival. He offered bikes, maps, and suggestions.
Chris was an amazing host, we came to Detroit to check out the city and it's all the great places to eat. Chris has some excellent recommendations and was extremely patient with us, even when us absent minded Canucks managed to lock ourselves out of the place. Thanks again Chris!
Chris is a fantastic host! He was incredibly accommodating and friendly with extensive knowledge of the local area that he was enthusiastic to share. He was impressively quick in responding to questions and reservation request and went out of his way to receive my husband and I on a very short notice. His apartment is strategically located in Midtown; it is a walking distance from many important destinations in the area be it WSU, the hospital complexes, MOCAD, DIA.. etc and a number of local restaurants such as Cass Cafe, Sy Thai, the new Slow's...etc. Living room was spacious and the bed was firm and comfortable. Great value!
Chris's place was a great place to stay while I was in Detroit. Located right in the heart of Wayne State University, it was a quick walk to the grocery store, art museum, coffee shop, etc. The apartment was very warm, which was great after being outside in the cold most of the day. Chris told us about a lot of different things to check out in the neighborhood and left us with guides to food and culture around the area. He was great to talk with and easy to get in touch with, making the trip all the more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who is visiting Detroit!
Chris was there to meet us when we were dropped off by Skoot the new shuttle service from Detroit airport to the address of the flat. FYI $20 each way, considerably cheaper than the taxi services.
I could not have chosen a place in a better location to visit the DIA, which was my prime reason for coming to Detroit. It was a seven minute brisk walk from the flat.
The flat was perfect for our needs. Queen size bed was comfortable, no nasty lumps and dips. The central heating was amazing. It kept the radiators very hot and then when the temperature outside got above freezing so the radiators cooled down. Chris provided sheets/pillows/pillowcases/ towels (hand and bath)/ pots/pans/crockery/ cutlery and some plastic and paper ware. We had all we needed and with the Whole Foods market 5 minutes walk away it was perfect. We even walked downtown to the Renaissance Center (General Motors HQ) and had a very pleasant day checking out the city. Chris' flat was ideal for our needs and I would recommend it to anyone. Chris too, is very helpful and eager that we enjoy his city - we did, thank you Chris.
Chris was an excellent host. Very friendly and introduced us to local spots. His place is in a safe area next to campus. His bed room is comfortable and bathroom was very clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
First off, the host is GREAT! He meet me at the front door and took my bags, I passed out (not really). That was a great way to start my Staycation (I'm a local gal who was in need an Urban Retreat). Once we were in the apartment, Chris made sure I knew where everything was in the home. He also hipped me to some hidden gems in the area that had not known about. OMG and there was a rooftop! Now, there is not seating up there, nor any railing (be careful). But, it a great place to se a snippet of the city and great for photographers. Very peaceful. All in all, my trip was great. I felt like I was in my own home. Chris provided a wonderful atmosphere for what I was looking for. I will stay again!
Chris was a great host. He was prompt and very accommodating. He had tons of info to share about the neighborhood and was very helpful in setting me up. His apartment is very cool and in an awesome neighborhood with tons of revitalization happening. He referred me to one of the best coffee shops in town - Great Lakes Coffee - don't miss it. Everything was great but I wasn't a huge fan of the shower/tub. It totally worked out and does the job but just not my preference. That said, I would still stay here again because the value and location can't be beat. Thanks again, Chris!
Chris was such a gracious and knowledgeable host. We could not have asked for a better location, space, or host! The place was perfect, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is coming to visit Detroit for the first time or wants to feel the good, genuine vibe of the city.
Chris was a very nice host. The apartment was ok. It wasn't spotless, but not what I would consider dirty either. The amenities were minimal, but acceptable. Everything essential to our stay was provided; heat, hot water, wifi, towels, ect., but there weren't many extras beyond the essentials.
