We are a nicely appointed condo in the heart of Old Kona Town. We are across from the Hulie'e Palace and only a couple of hundred feet from the ocean. There are restaurants, galleries, Kona coffee houses and exotic shopping right out our doors.

The space

This beautiful condo was just fully and expertly remodeled and furnished. It is new inside with sophisticated Polynesian accents. We are in the heart of downtown Kona on the island of Hawaii or "The Big Island". We overlook the oldest church in Hawaii, Mokuaikaua Church, and the Hulihee Royal Palace in downtown Kona. We are steps away from the pier, restaurants and special activities. This is the heart of the old village of Kona, literally in the back yard of the Hulihee Palace.
We have one bedroom one bath with large lanai and a new kitchen, fully stocked with all the necessary dishes.
Although we are in the core and center of the town, we are quiet because of the church as our closest neighbor. We are on the quiet side of our building orientated toward the church grounds. We have covered and secured parking in a garage and elevators from the parking area. Cable, high-speed internet and a new washer/dryer is included. This is truly a wonderful property unique because of its setting.
Our building includes a wonderful pool and barbecue decks which overlook the busy Ali'i Drive and the Pacific Ocean. Step out of the parking garage and you are in the middle of our restaurant and shopping area.
Prices include Hawaii tax of 13.42%! This is important when comparing prices because many people add it onto the posted price.

Guest access

We have a beautiful salt-water pool and fabulous rooftop lanais where our guests can have a barbeque and get a sun tan. Our main downtown area in Kona is right out our doors.

Interaction with guests

I am always available to give advise about the island and share some special places with guests. There are so many things to do here, an adventure at every turn.

Other things to note

Only a city block from beautiful Kona Pier, the starting point for our triathlons and the world famous Ironman Triathlon Competition. Snorkeling in this bay is world-class. We require a 9 day booking for the Ironman week.

We are in a very nice condo building and we abide by the condo association's rules. That is, mostly, considerate of others and quite from 8 pm to 8 am.. Respect the furnishings and leave the space in fine condition. NO SMOKING!
We do not do dishes. There is a $50 charge for dirty dishes left behind. We will empty the dishwasher for you though.

Edward is probably most considerate host that we’ve ever met. We received his check-in info even 3 weeks ago before departure, which includes everything you need to know about this apartment (well, it did take me a few hours to digest everything lol). So when we actual arrived this place, it was like going back home. Everything works so smoothly from parking in garage to getting keys to finding all households etc. As for the unit itself, it was clean and modern with all amenities you could imagine (so grateful that Edward has a new washer-dryer; cannot imagine living without them if you go snorkeling twice a day). Kitchen was well equipped and even better than ours. Balcony was super big where you could enjoy a peaceful scene with the lovely church. The unit is located right in the downtown (actually connected with a commercial building where you could find cafe, ABC store, restaurants, etc.) So no problem at all if staying without car rental. Anyway, we had a wonderful trip staying at Edward’s place and hope to come back some time in the future!

Everything was exactly like the pictures describe. Everything was clean and easy to find. The parking space was in a locked garage which was nice, and the place was so close to restaurants, the ocean and even a grocery store. Small additions like snorkel gear and bug spray really helped us out. Overall, had a great stay and would recommend to others.

Edward May's Kona unit is in a perfect location for exploring Kona village, walking distance to nearly everything including tiny beaches (like the one used in Ironman competition). The condo has underground parking, a clean pool, and is quiet at night. It's perfect for two people and even has a washer-dryer for longer stays. A nice affordable place, and Ed was easy to contact for questions.

My friend and I really enjoyed staying in this apartment. It was clean, well-stocked, quiet, and in an excellent location. We loved being in walking distance from restaurants, shops, the shoreline, and historical places. While we did not meet Edward, he gave very good instructions and we always felt he would help if we called him.
