The Space

The house features wooden floors in main rooms, lots of light, a well-equipped kitchen, and WiFi throughout whole house; please use our espresso machine, and BAR-B-Q in garden. There are 2 bathrooms (one with bath is yours, and one with shower which guests are welcome to use). The double room has a bay window overlooking a residential street. There is plenty of storage and we can provide a toddler's bed if needed. Sleeps 2 adults or 2 adults, 1 child.

Guest Access

We don't provide cooked breakfast, but guests are welcome to help themselves to tea and coffee, cereals and toast.
Guests are welcome to leave food in fridge and cupboards.

The Neighborhood

Stoke Newington is a great place to be based as it's retained a village-like feel without compromising transport to the rest of the city. Church Street is a 5 minutes walk to restaurants, cafes, delis, boutiques, pubs, post office, and a great bakery. Clissold Park is great for running, and its cafe overlooks deer and the New River, quite a special place in the middle of London!

Dalston's clubs, bars, music venues, and vintage shops are within easy reach; also Broadway Market's brilliant Saturday market near London Fields; Shoreditch's music venues, vintage shops, bars, restaurants, and Brick Lane Sunday Market & Spitalfields Market.

Getting around

Public transport is excellent both by tube and buses- Manor House tube (Piccadilly Line) takes you directly to British Museum, Covent Garden, Harrods, Piccadilly Circus, Kings Cross and Heathrow; from Finsbury Park (Victoria Line) its 5 stops to Oxford Circus.

My husband and I take advantage of living in London as much as possible- we love good food and are always on the look out for new places. We are happy to help you plan sight-seeing and share our personal list of local tips and maps. We cycle and can provide maps of bike routes if you choose to rent Barclay bikes. We have lived in London since 1996, take advantage of our knowledge!

  • Scotia was extremely flexible, welcoming, helpful and friendly! I needed a room in a hurry and she responded promptly and made the whole process easy. Large light bedroom, dedicated bathroom and shared breakfast all helped. Holden and his 'Princesses' were an added bonus ;-) Public transport accessible and local park a treat-highly recommended.

  • It could not have been a better choice : a house full of taste and charm in Stoke Newington, the comfort of a lovely bedroom with the amenities of a whole house, and, above all, the great hospitality of Scotia, John and Holden ! Looking forward to visiting them again, and being able to continue our conversations.

  • It was a pleasure for my partner and I to stay with Scotia and her family. The room was quiet, the house roomy, and the location near Clissold Park was super.

  • I really enjoyed staying with John, Scotia and Holden. They were welcoming and engaging, and helpful with all my requests. The walks through nearby Clissold Park were lovely, even in the dismal winter weather, and Clissold House cafe is recommended.

  • Scotia and John were great. I was between house so needed a place to stay on very short notice. Lovely old Victorian house, some work being done now so will be even lovelier for future airbnb guests.

I felt very comfortable, had some lovely chats and enjoyed my time :)

  • Firstly I appreciate fast response from Scotia. I was booking a room for my friend visiting London. We were both welcome by Scotia and family. Room is a good size, light and airy. Location is perfect, close to all necessary amenities and still quiet. Would definitely recommend.

  • My mum stayed at Scotia's lovely home for 10 days, while visiting me in London. The room is gorgeous, the bed really comfy and the garden wonderful. The house is indeed in a very quiet street but next to buses to the centre and only a couple of minutes walk from the beautiful Clissold Park. I love Stoke Newington area, that's why I live nearby as well.

Thanks for making my mum's stay in London so pleasant and comfortable, and also for letting us use the garden for a bbq!
