Scotia and her husband gave us a warm welcome in her nice home. The room has high ceilings and a comfortable. You get your own bathroom but have to use the family's one if you want a shower (which wasn't a problem for us). The room faces the road but there is hardly any traffic. Clissold Park (5min) and Stoke Newington Church Street (10min) are close and you can easily make your way into Dalston and Hackney. Scotia and her family are easy company, and if you want to explore East London her house is a good choice.

Scotia and John were very welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely, clean and lots of storage space. The bed is very comfortable with little reading lamps on either side. I slept like a log. Great power shower. We felt completely at home helping ourselves to cereal and coffee in the morning and chatting to John and Scotia and Holden, their son.

I felt very welcome and comfortable in Scotia's home. I would recommend her lovely large guest bedroom as a place to stay for anyone looking for a place with easy access to public transport (tube and buses all within a short walk) making all of London easily reachable. The local neighbourhood feels safe and friendly with a large park right around the corner (Clissold Park) and the hip, trendy cafés/bars of Islington close by. I enjoyed my month here immensely and know that Scotia would go out of her way as a host to help any guest feel at home and solve any problems you may encounter whilst staying in London.

Scotia was extremely flexible, welcoming, helpful and friendly! I needed a room in a hurry and she responded promptly and made the whole process easy. Large light bedroom, dedicated bathroom and shared breakfast all helped. Holden and his 'Princesses' were an added bonus ;-) Public transport accessible and local park a treat-highly recommended.

It could not have been a better choice : a house full of taste and charm in Stoke Newington, the comfort of a lovely bedroom with the amenities of a whole house, and, above all, the great hospitality of Scotia, John and Holden ! Looking forward to visiting them again, and being able to continue our conversations.

It was a pleasure for my partner and I to stay with Scotia and her family. The room was quiet, the house roomy, and the location near Clissold Park was super.

My husband and I are both involved in the arts, and we take advantage of living in London as much as possible by knowing what's new and interesting. We love good food and are always on the look out for new places; well-seasoned travellers, we enjoy meeting new people.

Stoke Newington is a great place to be based— its retained a village-like feel without compromising transport to the rest of the city.

We cycle often and can provide maps of bike routes if you choose to rent Barclay bikes. This is a great way to see the city!
