We are Balinese style bungalows on the cliffs above Padang Padang beach.
We have five bungalows at our location. If this bungalow does not have your requested dates, please try another unit.
Our bungalows are located on the cliff-line, just above the crashing surf. All garden bungalows come with large double beds and private bathrooms. Guests are free to use the shared infinity edge swimming pool. The restaurants are open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We're pretty easy going here. You're free to use the pool, gardens, restaurant, common facilities and room. You're pretty much free to do whatever you'd like unless it bothers other guests.
Interaction with Guests
We'll see you at check-in just to make sure you get your bearings, we'll point out some tips for surf/beach/shopping/food.
The beaches are incredible and the laid-back vibe is a healthy break from the Kuta/Seminyak bustle. Clean and true to the real Bali. Worth the drive out here.
Alternatively, those looking to relax will find a vast selection of chill out bars, tapas restaurants, cliff-front dining, low-cost warungs, and bars. The Bukit area is famed for the most beautiful beaches in Bali. Balangan, Jimbaran, Uluwaut, and Padang-Padang. Surfers seek good waves. Beach lovers will love the silky sands, clear waters and abundant sun.
Shopping is also available nearby for groceries, souvenirs and fashion. Dining options are plentiful with options for Balinese, Thai, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, American, seafood restaurants, and fast food.
Guests are just a short ten minute walk to Suluban beach Beach. Uluwatu is less than 15 minutes away by car. The Ngurah Rai (DPS) airport is approximately 1 hour away.
Hire a car/driver for $50/day or rent a motorbike for $7/day. Taxis don't come frequently.
Other Things to Note
What Guests love: My guest love the place because it very quiet, relax, good view, nice pool looking into the ocean, close to the beaches good for surf or relax and the famous Balinese kecak dance at Uluwatu temple(temple on the edge of Bali) the best to watch sunset.
What Guests didn't like: Occasional geckos, far from Seminyak/Kuta, no nightlife in the area, not having views from their bungalows.
Respect the room, respect our staff, love Bali.
It was exactly like the pictures. Peaceful and quiet with a million dollar view from the cliff. Rent a scooter and you'll be set for a good time in Uluwatu. Jing and Wayana were great hosts and kept checking in with me to make sure everything was alright. I had a great time staying here.
Jing met with us when we arrived and showed us around the property and answered questions about the area. We spent 5 nights at this villa: room was clean and comfortable, grounds were immaculate and staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay again!
Well, first of all it is not a private villa. Uluwatu Cottages is a facility, that has 2 stars on (website hidden). The garden, view and pool is beautiful. We had a few problems, there are many lizards in the facility, they were even in our room. Insects, ants and spiders as well. And one night when we arrived there was no electricity. Took more than half an hour for the power to get back. No hair dryer in the rooms. There was no shower curtain, no shower cabin or bathtub. You take a shower on the floor just next to toilet seat. And the bathroom door was broken as well, which will be annoying if you're staying with someone you're not close to.
We met with Wayana she told us some nice places, my recommendations will be Single Fin and Yeye's Warung. The place is far from the city and transport is expensive. We took a ride from the hotel to Padang Padang beach for 100thousand rubias 3 mins by driving, but we took a ride to 40min away airport by another transport service costs 200thousand rubies. So make sure you arrange your own transport. The facility needs to improve itself.
As your hosts we believe that many of the negative points could have been better avoided through better, timely communication.
We've rarely had guests call us at 12:30 midnight to ask for directions. Following that, your taxi driver got lost repeatedly and called us back at at 1:00am, 1:20 am and 1:35am. I'm not sure if this is proper guest behaviour, but we certainly dealt with it patiently and happily welcomed you to our cottages and arranged our very best room with the ocean view, which you had specially requested for.
The next morning, Wayana sat down with you and patiently asked how everything was going. You happily accepted our advice on things to do and local recommendations and mentioned nothing about lizards, bugs, bathroom doors or power outages.
What I find most upsetting is that you would all of a sudden lash out on us, after we had done so much to try to make your trip enjoyable and satisfactory. A lost driver charging for an expensive ride while trying to find us at 2am ends up being our fault now too?
We actually left you a good review as well, but if we had seen this, we'd be much less likely to recommend you to any future Airbnb hosts.
We were warmly welcomed by Jing when we arrived. He and Wayana were wonderful about helping to organize I've a driver to meet us at the airport. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. We ate at a few different places around, but the food provided here was the best we had. A 10 minute walk takes you to the surfers beach and a wonderful show watching surfers..we even saw a couple of whales breaching. We also really appreciated the care and cleanliness of the pool. We would highly recommend this accomodation.
Great experience in such a beautiful (website hidden) is enjoyable to swim in the pool and watch the sea lying in the chair.
Recommend to come visit and stay at Jing and Wayana's villa…the view of the sea is vast & magnificent. As if you're on a cruise ship. But as you ask around or get to hang out with Jing and Wayana if they're available, you'll find out different places to view this vastnest of great ocean or enjoy different experiences in different settings just around the area. Sometimes its just a 10-15 min walk or best, rent one of their scooters for less than $5US a day. We've manage to find great places to eat, swim beaches, walk along the edge of big cliffs, go down to alot of stairs to a hidden beach and or watch beautiful sunsets. We liked seafood and can't pass how Jing and Wayana described how it taste delicious and how they grill, fried or broil the seafood that you pick. We had to visit Menega Cafe restaurant. You have to drive to the place so we asked Eli at the service desk, for just $35us to drop us off and bring us back, whenever, it's like we had our own chaufer for the night to Menega back to our villa.
Our room was clean, there's hot shower, it didnt work on our first day, but it was fixed the next day. There's aircon to keep the room cool when we came back. The internet is only available on the lobby and on the terrace. It's everywhere in Bali, so please be patient and get use to the slow internet connections.
Jing and Wayana, thank you for your hospitality and it was pleasure to have meet you both, we'll definitely come back soon and would like to hang out with you both more. - J & M

About the Host, Jing And Wayana
Bali-fornia: Jing is from California and Wayana is from Bali. Our family loves travel, our island, and our doors are open to fun-loving travelers.
Hi there. I worked at Airbnb for Indonesia market development. I go between Singapore and Bali. My wife and daughter will most likely be hosting you.
I studied at Berkeley and came out to the real world with an engineering degree in the dot-com crash of 2000. I worked in a nuclear physics lab, wrote C++ code, and then I took off to travel the world for two years, across Asia and Latin America. When I came to Bali, I stopped traveling. Bali was my new home. I met the perfect girl, she was Balinese and very pretty. I took her to dinner and missed my flight. I ended up staying on the island.

Jing and I have been married since 2007 and we have a young daughter Eka. Just ask and we'll be happy to take you to see hidden beaches, underground parties and off-the-beaten path things to see/do in Bali. We hope you'll share a few interesting tid-bits about yourselves as well.
Our favorite thing about hosting is getting the feeling of traveling without leaving Bali. Getting to experience a guest's culture and background is something we enjoy a lot. We make a point to meet each guest and get to know them a bit. Each guest is different and unique, we try 'feel' what you're in the mood for and go from there.
Wayanas friend Yeye has this place. It serves up tasty western/asian food for cheap. A reliable, good place to eat. The locals go here.Jalan Uluwatu South Kuta Bali 80361

Mandatory stop along the tourist trail. This is the most popular attraction in South Bali. The cliff-temple above the sea, the monkeys and the kecak dance are worthy of a visit.Uluwatu

Amazing bar sitting on a boulder in the ocean. Designed by Japanese architects SuperPotato, this is a landmark, magazine cover bar. Reserve your place, it gets crowded.
Great food and good atmosphere. Mathias and Widya are friends of ours and theyve been running this place since 2009. Its a local place.Bali 80364
The largest supermarket in the area and this is where the best prices are. Selection is a bit more Indonesian but they have a good selection of products for Westerners as well.Jalan Uluwatu

I used to work here. Its got awesome views and a cool beach club. Theyve got snorkeling/kayaking/SUP. Easily spend a whole day here.Jalan Karma Kandara
Candle-lit grilled seafood dinner on the beach, right on the sand. Fresh Balinese spices, sliced watermelon and a freshly shucked coconut. Whats better than this?
Used to be an awesome beach, but its getting heavily touristed by the bus-tourist variety. Sigh... Good things werent meant to last.
Balis best and most fun waterpark. A popular place to spend the afternoon.Jalan Kartika Plaza No.
The original beachfront mall in Bali. These days its been surpassed by the beach-walk mall further up the street. Still a good place to shop for clothing and classy gifts.Kuta 80361
Perhaps the gold standard for Indonesian food. This would be the place a traveling food critic would eat Indonesian food.80361
The coolest mall ever. I dont usually like malls, but this is at a whole new level.Jalan Pantai Kuta Kuta Bali 80361
The cheapest place to buy almost anything you might need. A bit far, but if youre staying a bit longer term, this place is your friend.
