In our comfortable quiet Georgian home, you can experience all Edinburgh offers; Centre attractions a short bus trip away, countryside and beach walks along with historic Lauriston Castle on our doorstep.
This listing is for the Double room only.
Within our Georgian home we have a Double and Twin room to rent. Both rooms share a shower room which is not used by the rest of the household. The rooms are perfectly located on the side of the house giving the right amount of privacy to both guest and host. Each room has it's own Television installed and guests are welcome to borrow DVD's
A continental breakfast is included offering ; cereals, bread, selection of preserves, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juices & tea or coffee.
Guest's have access to the fridge to store food and may heat up food on request. Guests may also use the kitchen to eat meals or takeaway food that is brought in. Tea/coffee facilities are available in the kitchen.
Free WIFI is available in the rooms and throughout the building.
Guests are welcome to use the garden.
Interaction with Guests
Guest will be greeted by myself (Juliet) or Iain and one of us usually available if you require any information. On occasion when I work breakfast will be laid out and you will be required to self/serve, but we will let you know if that is to happen.
The area is called Davidson's Mains where you will find friendly pubs serving food, Indian, Chinese and Fish & Chip Takeaway restaurants. Also in the village there is a a Supermarket, Banks, Chemist, Hairdressers, Beauticians, Post Office, Dry Cleaners/laundromat, Cafe, Presbyterian, Catholic and Parish Churches and a large tree enclosed park with kids playpark.
We are neighbours to Lauriston Castle a 16th-century tower house which overlooks the Firth of Forth. There are tours of the Castle at the weekend but the grounds are open daily and free to visit including the Japanese garden and fantastic views to the sea.
You can take lovely sea shore and river walks around to Cramond. Cramond Village and harbour have Roman Ruins and the earliest known site of human settlement in Scotland.
We have private parking on our drive and are on a good bus route. The bus stop is a five minute walk away where you can catch a bus every 10 to 20 minutes to the city centre (a 20 minute bus ride away) or to the airport (a 35 minute bus ride away). 41 Bus takes you into the centre.
You can get a bus to us from the airport which requires one change of bus.
A taxi is around £15 and takes about 20 minutes.
There is also a cycle path just behind our house to the centre, if you wish to hire bikes.
Other Things to Note
We have two polite and respectful Teenagers and we would welcome families with children of any age. We also have a young Border Terrier (Thistle), she loves guests and is very friendly please be prepared to be licked! She also knows her manners and will be kept at bay if over-friendly!.

Please let me know what time you plan to arrive at the house - check in is flexible, but I have to know what time you wish to arrive so that I can be here to greet you and let you in.
Respect the house & those who live in it including other guests. When Guests are in the other room please keep noise and TV volume low at night.
Edinburgh is a recycling city. Plastic's, glass and any other recyclables have to go in a special bin as the general rubbish bin is quite small. Please be aware of this when throwing things out.
