About This Listing
I am renting an independent room in my home, in an old, beautiful and well conserved building, in the nice and safe neighborhood of Balvanera (border with downtown). The apartment has vaulted ceilings, wood floors, character; it’s very warm and cozy. It has a nice window overlooking the street. There are 6 rooms and a terrace, two people live here but only one room is available for rent. The location is great because it’s close to downtown, but not in the most hectic/commercial part. You are also very close (30 m) to a subway station (Venezuela) and you can combine with the other lines. Also you have a lot of different Bus Lines that connect to many different destinations. It is within walking distance of anywhere downtown or Recoleta, one block from Av Belgrano, and a few miters from Av Jujuy, close from the main faculties of the University of Buenos Aires. Ideal for students or foreign travelers, for short or long stay.
I’m a senior academic in Social Sciences and I use to study my PhD at the London School of Economics in London. Also I’m a Spanish teacher. Perhaps could be helpful for your studies or your work. Also I can give you advice about the city and about travel all over the region. We have two dogs.

I had a wonderful stay in Marios House. It is excatly as decribed. No luxury but everthing you need is there. It is next to the metrostation Venezuela which makes it very easy to discover the city.
Mario is a very nice and polite person and is always willing to help you. He helps me a lot to plan my next steps in Argentina and he has also a lot of insights for Buenos Aires and for the whole continent. Highly recommended :)
Mario is a kind, genuine and easy-going host. His flatmate Carlos and Toby the Dog, also make you feel welcomed and at home. The room is as pictured; simple, functional and clean. The rest of the apartment is comfortable, well-maintained. Balvanera is not an area known for having tourists, and while it felt safe walking around day and night, I was warned by some to exercise caution. I look forward to returning and catching up with the house and their residents when I am next back in BA.
Overall, it was a good experience staying at Mario's place. He is a gentle and intelligent man, and a lovely host who made me feel very welcome. The bedroom is just as it looks in the pictures - clean and comfortable. I was able to use the kitchen, which was handy. The house is located just steps away from the metro station, which is handy - but people should be aware that this isn't the nicest neighbourhood in BsAs (several local people warned me to be careful in this area). However, in my week there I never felt nervous walking around alone.
Mario's home is exquisite, its comfortable and welcoming. Staying there was a dream. I felt like an honored guest. Once you get the handle on the bus and see that the subte is so very close to the house you will see that you are well situated.
Mario is very helpful and erudite...he has the answers. A very pleasant person. I am happy to have met him. The room itself was a delight.....you will appreciate the wifi speed.
Toby, the strong and handsome pet was curious and quiet friendly ( bye Toby). This house was a good choice for me.
