A charming little garden oasis close in to the city has a quiet and comfortable queen bed with living room, office space, bathroom and a kitchenette. It comfortably fits two with easy access to public transportation. Sweet garden space and Wifi too!

The space

You will enjoy this charming, light filled one bedroom, one bathroom cottage in the heart of Portland's NW Nob Hill District. Built as a mother in law cottage behind the main house, this space is fairly private with a large patio and delightful garden area.
Sleep in a large queen bed in the bedroom area and enjoy the comfortable living room with sofa and upholstered chair. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, convection oven, microwave, garbage disposal and counter top burners if you want to cook although there are so many great restaurants within walking distance you may not get the chance.
There is a also a convenient office nook with a desk and free wifi.

Guest access

You will have access to the little garden and patio surrounding the cottage and a parking space in front of the cottage if you need it.

Interaction with guests

You will have as much privacy as you would like. I usually check in with you to make sure you are comfortable and then you are on your own unless you need me. I am happy to offer recommendations for local sites and help with navigating the area if you need it.

Other things to note

We are in a very central city location but have the feel here of a small town. there is a grade school across the street surrounded by a public park.

Alleyn's cottage is quiet and secluded behind her home with a privacy fence and garden. You can't miss the blue front door with its handy keylock which make it simple to enter and leave securely. What did I enjoy the most? The comfy bed with assorted pillows, the big bedroom closet for unpacking your luggage, the relaxing living room sofa with TV plus cable channels just in case you want to find a late night movie or the tiled walk-in shower in the lovely up-to-date bathroom. Her place is close to NW 23rd Street with great restaurants and the Portland NS Streetcar Line. I used the Streetcar to explore the Pearl District and downtown. Uber is active in the neighborhood so it was easy to catch a ride to the airport or anywhere else. When I plan another Portland vacation, I'll be looking for Alleyn's cottage as my first choice.

Great place to stay in Portland! Cottage was cute, clean, comfy, and quiet. It had all the amenities needed. I appreciated having a yoga mat, fully equipped kitchen, and fans (also had air conditioning). I was unfamiliar with this neighborhood but found it charming. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby and close to Forest park. Walkable to downtown (if you like walking) but also convenient public transportation. I would definitely stay here again!

This cottage behind the house was very comfortable and roomy. The separate living room was nice if someone got up early. The kitchen was quite adequate for making breakfast and storing snacks. Our host said hello as we were leaving and respected our privacy otherwise. Great neighborhood for walking, coffee shops for breakfast, and dinner restaurants. Ten minute easy drive into downtown Portland. Parking also available at Alleyn's place. Great stay!

Alleyn's cottage is charming in an excellent location for access to everything. It is decorated in a chic decor and the comfy bed and bed linens are heavenly. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could need and the backyard seating offers a spot for a quiet retreat. Alleyn's is there to help guide you if needed to great food, walks to Forest Park, and any other needs you have. Thank you for a sharing your cottage and making our trip to Portland so perfect.

Alleyn User ProfileAlleyn is a superhost.

I live in the NW district close to the center of town because it is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Portland. About 20 minutes from the airport. My great grandparents built homes in this neighborhood when it was first being developed and I have always loved this section of town. I moved to my present home in the Nob Hill district about 14 years ago.
I was an interior designer for many years and I also teach watercolor at the local community center.
I can't live without the ocean and the mountains each an hour and a half drive from here. I love the beautiful Columbia Gorge (1/2 hour) and hiking in Forest Park (minutes away).
I enjoy people from all walks of life and love to travel when given the chance.
