  • I loved my little cottage in Portland. It was in a breath-taking neighborhood and the space itself was lovely, just as advertised. Alleyn was very helpful, from when I couldn't unlock the door at my 11:00 PM arrival to when departure. She gave me great info on where to get food, found candles for me from her own stash, helped me navigate the bus system. I would definitely go back there in a flash.

  • This place is in the perfect location. It was very easy to get to by public transportation from the airport. Alleyn was gracious enough to allow me to drop off my luggage before check in since I arrived in portland in the early am. The cottage itself had everything you would need and the bed was better than the one I had at home. There are great shops, places to eat, and bars just a few blocks away. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone staying in Portland!

  • I was so pleased with my stay at the NW Nob Hill Garden Cottage that I tried to book again in April. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. The south and west facing windows made the space very light and aery. Alleyn was a terrific and responsive hostess. Her instructions to reach and access the cottage were very clear. She came by when I arrived and asked if I needed anything. When I made a suggestion for nightlights for the bathroom, they were hanging on the doorknob at the end of the day. I would definitely return.

  • I only had a short overnight stay, but it was great. The cottage was adorable and had everything we needed, it's in a great location, and Alleyn was a perfect host, gave us all the help we needed and then all the privacy we wanted. Thanks!

  • Lovely, well appointed cottage in a perfect location. We walked to NW 21st for dinner and to St. Honore for breakfast. Would love to stay in the summer to take advantage of the beautiful back yard.

    Response from Alleyn:

Thanks Harrison. I am glad you had such a nice time and found your way around so well. It really is easy access to so many places from here. Take care, Alleyn

  • Alleyn was such a wonderful host. Her cottage was perfect! So clean, comfortable, warm and inviting. Comfy bed, fresh towels, flowers... It was a great place to stay, and I will definitely be going back if it is available. It is in a great part of town too. We walked everywhere. Right off 23rd where lots of great places to eat and shop are. Thanks Alleyn!

  • This was the perfect place for my husband and me to stay on our first (but certainly not last!) visit to Portland. The cottage is an ideal size for a couple, very cozy and comfortable. The quality of the mattress, pillows, linens were all fantastic--on par with any 3-star+ hotel. We were trying to be budget conscious, and having a full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and counter-top range allowed for breakfasts in before heading out for the day, allowing us to enjoy some more expensive meals out at dinner.

And the location is great. We enjoyed being walking distance from the 23rd Ave shops and restaurants (Bamboo Sushi!!!). Street parking was easy, and it's a quick drive to Japanese Gardens, Arboretum, and Adler-area food stands.

Alleyn was prompt, attentive, and accommodating. It's a charming cottage, and we would definitely book again on our next trip to Portland.

I live in the NW district close to the center of town because it is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Portland. Ten minutes from the airport. My great grandparents built homes in this neighborhood when it was first being developed and I have always loved this section of town. I moved to my present home in the Nob Hill district about 10 years ago. I have been an interior designer for many years. I also teach watercolor at the local community center. I can't live without the ocean (an hour and a half drive from here), the mountains (an hour's drive), the beautiful Columbia gorge (1/2 hour) and Forest Park (minutes away). I love my new Ipad mini and am learning to use it from the smart kids at the apple store. I want to adopt them. I enjoy people from all walks of life and love to travel when given the chance.
