This is a wonderful old house with charming details such as wooden beams, stained glass windows, original fireplace and hardwood floors. My apartment is a comfortable and spacious two bedroom, 1.5 bath on two floors. In the summer you may enjoy the sunny and peaceful front porch, or the shady deck overlooking the large back yard.
You would be sharing this apartment with me: a mature single female. My bedroom is at the other end of an L-shaped hallway from your bedroom, so there is some privacy. The main bathroom is shared, but don't worry--there's also a powder room on the first floor.
Your bedroom is on the second floor facing the back garden, and has a view of the North Shore mountains. It's completely and comfortably furnished with:
• a queen size bed and linens
• table/desk, office chair and desk lamp
• flat screen HDTV and PVR
• easy chair
• dresser, night table and bookcase
• two windows with blackout blinds
• reading lamps
• telephone for local calls
• radio alarm clock
• fan and space heater
• iron and mini ironing board, laundry basket
• Turkish cotton spa bathrobe
• closet room to hang your clothes or store your suitcase
*Please note: there are 30 steps to get from the street to this second floor bedroom.
You will have access to WI-FI, free telephone for making local calls, and use of the kitchen, dining and living room. Flat screen HDTV, DVD, books and movies are available to relax with and enjoy when you're not out and about. I have plenty of information about local attractions and transit options.
Complimentary tea or coffee anytime. Continental breakfast items included. If you are making meals for yourself, I have condiments, oil & vinegar, spices, and other staples available for your use.
Currently I'm quite busy with a full-time college program, so I'm up and out of the house very early most days, returning home around 6:00 pm.
Ideally situated just 20 minutes from the airport, downtown or UBC, and walking distance to beaches & parks. The neighbourhood has restaurants & cafes, grocery shopping, community centre, library, a liquor store and much more! This is one of Vancouver's best areas (Arbutus Ridge aka Upper Kitsilano). It's well-kept, safe, quiet & green... and just steps away from the grand old mansions of historic Shaughnessy.
Be sure to check out my Guidebook for more information on neighbourhood dining and services.
You'll find it very easy to get around the city by transit with nearby bus routes to take you in every direction. Vancouver is striving to be the Greenest City in the world by 2020, and we have many bike routes all around us. Secure outdoor bicycle parking is available for your bike. Street parking is unrestricted, free and plentiful--you can usually get a spot right out front.

This was my second stay with Rose, as her place is right around the corner from my family in Vancouver. She is easy going, but always helpful. Breakfast was lovely even on those mornings when I was up and out the door quite early. As a bonus I even know more about bus routes from her!
Delightful, clean, charming and really convenient. A very walkable area. Rose is a great host, offering just the right amount of company and information.
I would definitely choose to stay there again.
Thank you Rose!
I stayed with Rose for a whole week and I can strongly recommend her place and herself as a a host! The house and the room itself are exactly as shown in the pictures, everything is clean and Rose is a very friendly and welcoming person who also helps you out whenever possible. Some days we had breakfast together, but otherwise you can help yourself, everything neccessary is provided. The bus stop is just a one minute walk away and a direct bus connection takes you to downtown in around 15 minutes.
If I am going back to Vancouver on my own, I would be pleased to stay with Rose again :)
Thank you for your hospitality, kindness and the effort you made to make my stay so easy and enjoyable!
My husband and I stayed at Rose's while visiting the University of BC from New Zealand. To our delight, our accommodation - which was our first Airbnb experience - worked perfectly. Rose's house is a beautifully furnished old gem! The room was cosey, comfortable and, while on the small side for 2, was well set up for our needs (desk, access to Wifi, local maps/info pamphlets, closet w clothes hangers, water on the bedside table) and offered a view of the mountains in the distance. Rose offered us lovely hospitality while also respecting our privacy. Our breakfasts varied daily and were very nutritious. The neighbourhood was a delight to walk in, and it was a single 15-minute bus ride ($2.75) to the university from a nearby bus stop. I'd highly recommend Rose's home to any visiting academics to UBC - or to tourists wanting to stay with someone with local knowledge.
Rose's house is clean and beautiful, arranged with taste.
I found there a warm place, a comfortable bed, a stocked kitchen and a wonderful host.
The area is beautiful and provides an easy access to the central parts of the city, either by foot or public transportation.
I could not have been more satisfied with my stay with Rose. She is welcoming, friendly, helpful, and easy-going. She was a great Airbnb host and provided everything promised. Her place is lovely and tastefully furnished, very comfortable. The neighborhood is a jewel, full of very well-kept heritage houses, beautiful mature trees, and attractive yards. Location is fantastic, close to everything I personally wanted. I hated to leave, and plan to stay there when I return!
Comfortable, clean, quiet and exactly as shown in photos. Rose is very hospitable.
Rose is warm and welcoming and her house is calm and comfortable. Rose's lovely home, in a tree-lined street, was the ideal place to spend my first few days in Vancouver.
I enjoyed to stay 5 days with Rose in her nice and clean house, near the beach and downtown. Rose is a very interesting, warm-hearted woman. My room was very comfortable and quiet. I'm looking forward to visit her again.
I recommend Rose and her Heritage House to everybody looking for a nice stay in Vancouver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rose is the perfect hostess, and the accommodations are just like a cozy B&B. She thought of everything for our comfort and was very helpful about the area.
