About this listing
My home is a modern jewel with all new interior, large open-plan kitchen, sun deck, garden and hot tub. The home is an urban oasis - close to everything San Francisco has to offer, yet quiet and spacious. It is decorated tastefully with oriental rugs and contemporary art, instruments and cozy furniture. Two sunny bay windows in the living room look out to stunning views of Sutro Tower on Twin Peaks, and the Bay Bridge shimmers in the distance off the back deck.
The master bedroom has a luxurious queen-size bed and sliding door access to a sunny balcony with beautiful plants and flowers. A large ensuite bathroom features a huge walk-in shower and mirrored vanity. The second private bedroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed, an antique desk, plenty of closet space and access to the back deck. There is an adjoining second bathroom with shower, tub and mirrored vanity just outside the door. The massive dining/living/kitchen space boasts high cathedral ceilings, a huge open kitchen, dining table, piano, a lounge area and flat-screen television.
Amenities of the house include: surround sound speakers, central heating, all new appliances and a back deck with a grill. There is also a downstairs garden and hot tub.
There is an attached garage with side-by-side parking that snugly fits a mid-sized sedan if you require parking during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
I sometimes stay nearby at a friend's apartment, and am often available to check guests in. That said, I respect my guests' privacy and will never come over without contacting you first. I'm looking forward to hearing from you! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
The house is conveniently located at the vibrant intersection of Bernal Heights, Mission and Noe Valley neighborhoods. The neighborhood is charming, with a variety of ethnic restaurants just steps away: Indian, Latin, Middle Eastern, Thai and Vietnamese. You’ll also find a Safeway, produce stands and organic food markets within a few blocks. The hip Mission district is a short walk or bus ride away, with endless food, bars, shops and the famed San Francisco street murals. If you enjoy urban hiking, Bernal Hill is just up the hill, and provides stunning 360-degree views of the City and the Bay.
Public transportation is plentiful. Transit lines within a block or two include the 24, 14, and 49 bus lines downtown, with access to BART, the Castro, Haight Ashbury and Nob Hill neighborhoods, as well as the J-Church MUNI light rail which runs past beautiful Dolores Park and stops at all downtown stations underground out to the Ferry Building.
FROM THE AIRPORT
If you arrive from the airport, a shared-ride van costs approximately $18 (full list at (website hidden)). For parties of three or more, it’s faster and more economical to share a taxi. BART is also possible if you’re not carrying much luggage. The trip takes about an hour and costs approximately $10.
This is a second floor unit and a shoe-free home. Please remove your shoes while inside and tread lightly to avoid disturbing the downstairs neighbors. If you are a smoker, please do so only on the back deck, and keep voices down at night. Access to the backyard garden and hot tub is through the inside hallway on the street level only. Please do not use the back stairs from the deck down to the garden in order to respect our neighbors’ privacy.
We came as a family to hang out with our son who moved to SF a year ago. Dan's home was great! We had plenty of room and loved the SF vibe. We cooked several meals as the kitchen had everything a chef would need. The location was comfortable with a great coffee shop and grocery near by. We found this a great place to stay and venture out to see the city. we also took a day trip to Sonoma and Muir woods which was amazing. Thanks Dan for sharing your great space.
The listing was accurate and ever as beautiful as the photos. I loved his laminated note he left with instructions of how to use everything and what to pay attention to - made being in a new place so easy!
Daniel is the complete package. Great communication throughout buildup to trip and during stay. Having hosted over 75 parties, he thought of everything and makes life so easy on his guests. From key transfer (check-in) to finding extra TP in the bathroom, we felt right at home in his charming, roomy, and modern SF flat. The location is great too! We mostly Ubered around the city and the flat is right at the 280 entrance. We took Bart a few times too and it was a nice mile or so walk to/from the 24th St. Station. I'm sure we could have take. Muni and it would have been even more convenient but we were enjoying ourselves. If there was more time, we'd have taken advantage of the hot tub! Would be lucky to stay at Daniel's again if he'd have us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Daniel's apartment. It was clean, comfortable and roomy, and in a nice neighborhood. It was a great location for a home base for our visit to San Francisco.
Daniel was a terrific host. Great communication during the booking process, and checked in with us during our stay see if everything was ok and if we needed anything. He was generous with amenities, as well as offering some breakfast items. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to SF. Thanks, Daniel!
Daniels house was incredible! so open and spacious, and beautifully decorated. Daniel was very helpful and quick with response. It felt like home coming back to the house after long days exploring the awesome city of San Fran! Great kitchen too!
We had a amazing stay in Noe valley. Daniel was an excellent host! He helped with my luggage, parked my car in a good spot and was very kind in every way! All the restaurant recommendations were spot on! The apt is very cosy and clean, super comfy for a family of 4. We loved the neighborhood too!
Daniel's home was exactly as advertised, it was clean, quiet, spacious and well-maintained. Instructions were clear and he was easy to communicate with. We had an initial issue about check out time -- he requested we depart our last day at 9 am to accommodate his house cleaner's schedule, but we were ultimately able to work out a later check out time that was convenient for all parties.

About the Host, Daniel
I'm a professional upright bassist and 14-year San Francisco resident. I love playing jazz, Latin, classical, bluegrass, tango and much more. I perform almost every night of the week and have some part time teaching jobs to keep me busy during the day. In late 2011 I was able to buy a share of this wonderful two-unit building where I live in the upstairs 2-bed, 2-bath apartment. I've been spending more time away on the road with bands, so I'm happy to know the house is being filled by good energy. When I am in town I love having daytimes off and will often invite house guests along on morning walks, trips to the gym, and cooking experiments. I've added gardening, grilling, and hot tubbing to my home activities recently and find myself happier for it.
San Francisco is my ideal city - big but not sprawling, diverse and inviting. I hope you'll fall in love it with it like I have.
