This was not the best of our experiences. Communication with host was absent in the last couple of days as we wanted to confirm address and phone number of the person picking us up. This person's family takes care of the residence. The host refers them as taxi driver but he is probably a retired gentleman. We paid 100 MAD each way between home and airport, definitely more than average. There is actually no washing machine in the residence but people maintaining the place were super nice and let us do our laundry in their house. We bugged them several times.
The place is very dusty and doesn't have a single soap or toiletries. There is not even a single match for the gas stove and electric kettle was almost mouldy. You definitely can't cook basic breakfast here. The AC stopped working so we moved everything to the other room and it was all good there. You likely need a cab to any interesting places nearby. There is a store and restaurant within the complex which were very helpful. There is absolutely no pool anywhere in sight. In a nutshell, you're likely going to an ex-pat's investment property which is very mildly taken care of.
This complex is a nice oases of tranquility with little shops and cafes just in front of Bab Kachich. Spacious and relaxing. Feels absolutely safe. Swimming pools are gorgeous. Small local travel agent can organise anything for you. Riad was clean and very much as described. Said and his wife were very helpful! Nice evenings on the roof terrace with a view of the Atlas and medina in the distance.
We would certainly stay again and recommend this place to our friends.
We stayed here, myself, my partner and my son (6yrs old), in March. We were met at the airport by Ali, but 100dhr is too expensive for this taxi journey as we later found out. The place was nice and clean and people were friendly. Location is a little far out but for 25dhr you can get a taxi to the main square, though the taxi drivers will try to get you to pay 50dhr/100dhr (this is too much!). There was no gas in the kitchen and no soap or toilet roll so be prepared for that. Comfortable beds and clean. We were happy with the place. Swimming pool wasn't open until April.
We spent 4 night at the Riad and everything went perfect.
The appartment is really quiet and safe, located within a private residence. Quick access to the Medina (10 min walk) and tanneries district. Amina was present to welcome us on arrival. She is always around if you need anything.
The appartment had everything we needed and was very clean. The rooftop was much appreciated. Highly recommended.
The family next door were very friendly, they gave a plate oranges as a welcoming gift. The apartment itself is lovely, big and spacious. The roof terrace has gorgeous view over the Palmeraie and the Altas Mountains. The property is situated in a gated complex just on the outskirts of the medina. It is a welcome oasis after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of the city. The pool was closed for winter whilst I was there, which is shame. I would have love to try it.
Ali was waiting at the airport even though there was a 90 minute delay and took us to the complex. Amina was waiting and greeted us warmly when was got to the Riad. The Riad exceed our expectations. Spacious, clean and with seating in the living room for about 30 it was a great home for the two weeks we were in Marrakesh. Anytime we didn't feel like going out (there's great food in the Medina at night) Amina woud cook us some great Moroccan food, huge portions.
The complex has a couple of small grocery stores (check the expiration dates), a pharmacy, a travel agency and a pizza shop. In addition to the swimming pools the complex is lined with palm trees and lots of flowers that the local birds seemed to enjoy. Everyone was friendly and the shop workers particularly attentive, if you buy anything heavy they'll carry it home for you.
A short walk to the Old Medina and narrow streets filled with donkey & horse carts, scooters and people. This end of the Medina doesn't have as many tourists as the other end and while no one spoke English everybody somehow knew how to bargain in English. It was a great place to experience Marrakesh away from the tourist zone. Tour guides and taxis had no problems finding the complex.
The internet was reasonably fast and we had no problem watching NetFlix (through Hola). The kitchen well enough equipped for our limited use. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough blankets. The Riad felt spacious, clean and comfortable.
