We spent 4 night at the Riad and everything went perfect.
The appartment is really quiet and safe, located within a private residence. Quick access to the Medina (10 min walk) and tanneries district. Amina was present to welcome us on arrival. She is always around if you need anything.
The appartment had everything we needed and was very clean. The rooftop was much appreciated. Highly recommended.
The family next door were very friendly, they gave a plate oranges as a welcoming gift. The apartment itself is lovely, big and spacious. The roof terrace has gorgeous view over the Palmeraie and the Altas Mountains. The property is situated in a gated complex just on the outskirts of the medina. It is a welcome oasis after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of the city. The pool was closed for winter whilst I was there, which is shame. I would have love to try it.
Ali was waiting at the airport even though there was a 90 minute delay and took us to the complex. Amina was waiting and greeted us warmly when was got to the Riad. The Riad exceed our expectations. Spacious, clean and with seating in the living room for about 30 it was a great home for the two weeks we were in Marrakesh. Anytime we didn't feel like going out (there's great food in the Medina at night) Amina woud cook us some great Moroccan food, huge portions.
The complex has a couple of small grocery stores (check the expiration dates), a pharmacy, a travel agency and a pizza shop. In addition to the swimming pools the complex is lined with palm trees and lots of flowers that the local birds seemed to enjoy. Everyone was friendly and the shop workers particularly attentive, if you buy anything heavy they'll carry it home for you.
A short walk to the Old Medina and narrow streets filled with donkey & horse carts, scooters and people. This end of the Medina doesn't have as many tourists as the other end and while no one spoke English everybody somehow knew how to bargain in English. It was a great place to experience Marrakesh away from the tourist zone. Tour guides and taxis had no problems finding the complex.
The internet was reasonably fast and we had no problem watching NetFlix (through Hola). The kitchen well enough equipped for our limited use. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough blankets. The Riad felt spacious, clean and comfortable.
The location was not super convenient in terms of walking to and from places simply because we were totally unfamiliar with this city. However, Said arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport and he ended up driving us around everywhere, which was amazing!! He was super responsive, punctual, and made us feel a lot safer in this city and aware of our surroundings. The apartment itself was absolutely beautiful, and Amina was AMAZING! We loved the breakfasts she made for us, and she was super welcoming and sweet to us, even though only one of us could speak french. It was absolutely worth the money we paid to be in a more separated residential area, and we loved our time there! Thank you for everything!!
Located far enough from the Medina (1.5 miles) where there is peace and quiet. Riad was very clean, deck on the roof was amazing (especially during call to prayer). Amina was gracious and a great cook. It was refreshing to retreat to the Riad after a crazy day within the city walls. Would stay here again if given the chance.
Excellent place, very tidy nice location and good facilities. Would happily recommend.
Only thing I would say is.. We got charged 200 Dirham for the taxi transfer organized through Said's contact when we arrived at the station. Extortionate. After much haggling with the taxi drivers boss we got it down to 100 which even was a little too expensive we learned. Recommend agreeing taxi price before arrival or find your own when you arrive and negotiate. Not a negative on Said's part, but something to be aware of.
