The Space

Casale di Cellole is an old farm in the heart of Chianti. Less than ten kilometers from Siena, is located on a hill near the Certosa di Pontignano and consists of a main house, a barn and other outbuildings distributed among olive groves, vineyards and woods crossed by deer, pheasants and hares.
The renovation of the property has divided the house into four apartments: the home of the owner and apartments Zoo, Moon and River. The renovation has tried to combine the ancient architectural features with modernity and sophistication, design and art.
Objects, paintings and lamps inspired by the animal give birth to Zoo, a spacious apartment for two people on two floors. The ground floor entrance leads into a living room with armchairs and a fireplace. A large arch separates the living room from the dining area and the kitchen equipped with every comfort. Upstairs there is a large bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Four large windows overlooking the garden and surrounding hills.
Outside, the large garden full of flowers houses a use of the apartment, consisting of a pergola with a table for lunch and dinner, and space for rest and relax. An ancient stone pool has been transformed into a small shared pool that offers cool during the hottest summer days.

  • It was an amazing experience. The house is unbelievable and very well located to visit other towns and vineyards... and the view insuperable!

I Really Really Really recomend it. For sure one of the best places I stayed during my trip to Italy.

Elisa was a great host. Very kind and always tried to give us the best recomendations to look around and have a great stay. We loved her!

  • We loved our stay in the Zoo apartment at Casale di Cellole. It was was everything we wanted for our stay in Tuscany. It was very spacious, modern yet rustic and had incredible views of the Tuscan countryside. We had our own private outdoor dining area surrounded by beautiful flowers (and some wildlife). The kitchen was well-equipped (we had everything we needed to cook at home) and bathroom was updated. Big bedroom and comfy bed! There are three other apartments, but each area has its own private outdoor area and privacy was never a problem. The location was very close to Siena and a good home base for exploring Tuscany, especially the Chianti region. Elisa was a good and gracious host and always very responsive (both prior to the trip and while we were there). It was a beautiful property and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Elisa has created a serene, lovely place to visit.

  • The Zoo apartment was even better than we had imagined. The finishes were of top quality and everything you needed was at your disposal. The views from the yard were spectacular and it was nice to catch some rays with the sun lounges provided or snuggle up in front of the fire on colder nights.

Elisa was the perfect host and even called to make restaurant reservations for us. When we return to Tuscany we would look no further than Elisa's place.

  • Truly amazing... Words really will fail me with this one! In a sea of traditional Tuscan villas, Casale di Cellole stands out on many fronts. As a destination, it has been carefully, sensitively and deliberately composed to ensure that the balance of traditional, contemporary, eclectic and comfort all adds up to a truly unique home-away-from-home experience. Our apartment, "Zoo", which is a single, massive bedroom/bathroom on first floor with very well appointed kitchen (with DW) and dining separated by a white washed archway into the lounge area with open fireplace on ground floor. I am quite obsessed with the beautiful, steel, double glazed windows and extra wide entry door... Detailing which we very rarely see in Australia. A great collection of vintage pieces of furniture, accessories and a rotating artwork collection grace the spaces. Clearly there is a sense of humour here too... The vaguely kitsch framed, black and white photograph in the laundry was a pleasant distraction from laundry duty! We were fortunate to check out the other 2 apartments and can safely say that you wouldn't regret being in any of them. The surrounding gardens are bountiful and were bursting into bud, flower and leaf whilst we were there. This made sitting outside under our steel framed loggia or on the gravelled open terrace a wonderful experience. Elisa as host is warm, genuine, happily spirited, generous and (fortunately for us) fluent with English. Our stay covered the Easter period and although that meant some pretty jam packed experiences in Siena and San Gimminano on the public holidays, we were delighted to find quiet roads and peaceful towns like San Giovanni d'Asso (thanks for the suggestion Elisa), Radda, Greve and others. This one is a real secret... Hard to find, off the beaten track so perfectly quiet and relaxing. Only 6 kilometres though from Sienna, the Coop supermarket, access roads to surrounding towns etc so you won't feel like you are too far away when you do want to be a tourist! 110% from us! In a big, wide world where there are an unlimited number of possible destinations, I can guarantee that we will be coming back here!

  • We spent the holidays at Elisa's Zoo apartment and are so happy we did! The place was perfect for us and our 2 month old daughter. Newly renovated, spacious and comfortable. The location can't be beat and Elisa and Alessandro are extremely accommodating hosts. We hope to be back to visit them again soon!

We felt very comfortable in Elisas apartment. Everything was as described and shown on the pictures. The apartment is in top condition and everything around it is well maintained and lovingly put together. Elisa and her family are very hospitable and took good care of us.

The area/location is very good if you want to have the feeling of real Tuscany. You can get anywhere by car out quickly (Chianti-area, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano etc.) . The property is located between olive groves and vineyards. Very idyllic.

We can each of our friends recommend this apartment!
