  • My friend and I arrived around 8pm and the key had been left out for us which was really nice. We got into the house, which was pristine, warm and welcoming. Jerry and Aida arrived soon after and were extremely gracious to us. We even got to have some of the ice-cream cake left over from Aida's birthday! Yummy!! Even though my friend and I were super tired, Jerry and Aida gave us some space to eat our dinner and finally made it downstairs to our room. The room and bed were super cute and comfy. Our first night, we got to play in the hot tub which was a treat after such a long drive. The following day, Jerry actually drove my friend and I into downtown and gave us a quick tour highlighting the spots we needed to check out on our adventure to Eugene. We ate at "Papa's Soul Food" and the "Pizza Research Institute" and drank at quite a few breweries that were all within walking distance. This was definitely a great deal and location and will definitely like to come back!!!

  • Jerry & Aida were great hosts. They were very easy going about our arrival late in the evening (10 pm) the first night and made us feel welcome. The space was cozy, comfortable, clean and spacious. I enjoyed a hot tub on their beautiful deck! The suite is large, with its own living room as well as bedroom. Plenty of hot water for a good shower, and a nice breakfast of oj, coffee, cereal, bagels and cream cheese, and fresh fruit in the morning--all set out for us to enjoy at our leisure. It is a nice quiet neighborhood--but still convenient to downtown Eugene. This was my first airbnb experience and I was very pleased.

  • Staying with Jerry and Aida was absolutely delightful.
Jerry stayed in constant communication and directed us to his beautiful property. He greeted us with a very much needed cup of tea after we had driven a long way during the day. He showed us around the property and our "quarters" downstairs.

The bedroom was very roomy and cosy and comfortable. The private bathroom is next to the bedroom. The couple have thought if everything to make your stay perfect even to the small sensor lights in the hallway at night to show you to the bathroom. Wifi is also available. Everything's spotlessly clean and I'm quite particular!

We slept very well and rose to brewed coffee, tea, juice and a selection of fruit, yoghurt and freshly baked banana bread, courtesy of Aidas baking.

Conversation flowed, very relaxed and Jerry is extremely informative on many subjects. Aida is a very sweet lady and I would say this couple made us feel very welcome.

If we come to Oregon we would certainly visit again.

  • Our stay with Jerry and Aida was even better than we had imagined. It was perfect for our needs! Their home is just beautiful and is in a lovely, quiet and peaceful neighborhood nestled amongst gorgeous trees. We had plenty of space to ourselves .....and still were welcomed to share their space if we wanted to. We loved sitting out on their deck under the trees listening to the wind in the tree tops! In addition to being very clean, their home was beautifully decorated. Jerry and Aida are the perfect host and hostess. Breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed visiting with them over breakfast. They were very helpful and resourceful. They have a gift for making you feel at home and comfortable. We would go back in a heartbeat! Did I mention the bed was comfortable????

  • The DREAM STAY - Simply didn't want to leave ! So many great memories at Jerry & Aida's house :) The house is huge, gorgeous, and surrounded by nature and trees. From the outdoor jacuzzi right in the middle of an incredible environment - offering amazing views - to the entire lower floor just to ourselves featuring TV and a private bathroom, Jerry and his wife offered us an amazing stay including a yummy breakfast each morning ! Couldn't ask for more, we're so lucky we got to meet such incredible hosts and had the opportunity to discuss and share our respective experiences. What was supposed to be an overnight stop turned out to be the best extended stay of my North American road trip. If I ever build a house in the future, I will ask Jerry for his floor maps, haha ^^ You definitely can't beat their house, its location and the view. NO regrets, just GO FOR IT ! :)

  • A private suite in a quiet Eugene home very accurately summed up our experience. Jerry and Aida gave us use of the entire downstairs of their home. I'm not sure how I could even suggest that they improve anything. Their home is a gem find. We will be back!

About
Airbnb hosts since 2010, there's nothing we enjoy more than welcoming our many new friends and returning guests into our home. A native Oregonian, Jerry has lived and worked in Eugene ever since moving from Portland to attend college. Junaida is from the Philippines where her family still lives and she maintains a home. Having worked for years in elder care, Junaida relaxes most often in her kitchen where she loves to cook and bake. Now a retired public school educator, Jerry stays active as a community volunteer, including a job as a volunteer scuba diver at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We love returning 'home' to the Philippines to visit family (and scuba dive) as well exploring other tropical sites around the globe. During our travels, we've stayed in airbnb properties from San Francisco to New York, Saskatoon to Vancouver, and Hong Kong to Manila. Our travel adventures are generally moderately budgeted so we can spend our resources playing and meeting people. This is why we appreciate airbnb. It's important to us to be thoughtful & conscientious guests when we travel and we attempt to be the same kind of hosts.
