Once the most prodigious Creole neighborhood in the city and home to numerous landmark residences, Esplanade Ridge is a historic district stretching from Treme to City Park. The area is mostly quiet and residential, except of course on Super Sundays and other important times when second lines flow down our street and Mardi Gras Indians show off new suits under I-10 on Claiborne Avenue.
We are located almost exactly in-between the French Quarter and City Park. According to (website hidden) Maps we are .7 miles from the French Quarter, which is about a 15 minute walk down Oak tree-lined Esplanade Avenue.
The neighborhood and this apartment are relaxed environments to come home to after a long day touristing or night out.
We recommend taking advantage of our bikes or enjoying the beautiful scenery on your two feet, but we also have a list of taxi recommendations and you can catch a bus to the French Quarter one block from the apartment.

This apartment is even better than the pictures (if that's possible)! Great little place with loads of character and everything you could need for a stay in New Orleans (the bikes are particularly handy). Not right in the touristy part of town but a 15-20 min walk into the French Quarter or there are loads of buses. Molly and Prescott were very helpful and left us loads of recommendations which we loved (The Joint BBQ is a must!). All in all we had a great stay. We were warned a few times by locals not to go out walking at night in this area - not sure if the rumors are true, we felt completely safe!
As everyone has mentioned and I completely agree, this cute home was exactly as described and more. The unique art and little accents really added to the charm, and gave it so much more character than a hotel room. The house was super close to the bus stop that took us straight to the French Quarter, which was really convenient.
Molly is super responsive to messages and was flexible when we asked to extend our checkout. The home is pretty easy to find and super close to the bus line (#91 will take you to French Quarter and Garden District). It's about a 15 minute walk to the very edge of the French Quarter. The bathroom was fully stocked with towels and toiletries. The bed was super comfy and all the linens were clean. Good climate control within the home. The free bikes had rusted chains and low tire pressure, so we didn't use them. Also, the dogs were a bit noisy. Otherwise, this was a very lovely home.
My parents and I visited New Orleans for the Bayou Bagaloo music festival. Molly and Prescott's home was perfect!! There space was bright and beautiful...clearly an artist's touch. The couple were very sweet and accommodating. Having a bike made morning coffee runs a breeze! The backyard area was such a treat to spend time hanging outside.
I would definitely stay at their place again!
Thanks for a wonderful stay! Best of luck with everything! ️Xo
Molly and Prescott were wonderful hosts and I had a fantastic stay at their place. I can't stress enough how beautiful the place was and you can clearly see how much care and love has been put into this property.
Me and my sister visited the city for a week and this small apartment catered wonderfully to all of our needs. It was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The apartment has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small entrance hall area. I had spent few months in the US, so I had a lot of luggage, but I could barely notice all the bags there. The place also has a fun garden area, where to relax and enjoy the sun. The location was also great as it provided an escape from the more touristy and busy areas of the city, while still being at a walkable distance from the city centre. There was also a bus to the Garden District, so it was relatively easy to get around the city.
Molly and Prescott were both warm, welcoming and incredibly accommodating. Thank you so much! It was great to meet you two (and your dogs!) and good luck with everything!
What a great place to stay in New Orleans! Molly and Prescott's place is exactly as described and just how it looks in the pics, with so many interesting pieces of art, books and other thoughtful things (like the great radio) to make it feel like you're in your own little home.
Unfortunately I didn't actually meet Molly and Prescott -- my unsociable Jazz Fest hours didn't help -- but everything was exactly as they said it would be and they were really flexible about my arrival time.
The house is in a great location too; just a short walk from both the French Quarter and the Fair Grounds. I'd definitely like to stay again next time I'm in NOLA if they'd have me.
Oh, the only little thing -- and this is in the description -- is the wifi is a little temperamental. But, you know, you're on holiday so forget the email for a few days. ;)
