Interaction with Guests
The space is totally private with its own enterance from the backyard. However, we are here to say hi, chat, or help with recommendations should you need anything.
Our neighborhood is the best! It is quiet and residential but close to everything. Furthermore, it is home to many Mardi Gras Indians, second lines, and real New Orleans culture.
You can catch a bus to the French Quarter one block from the apartment. We recommend taking advantage of our bikes or enjoying the beautiful scenery on your two feet.
At night biking should be safe, however if you have been drinking or are not great with directions we recommend just taking a taxi or pedicab to be truly safe.
We have a long list of cab recommendations on our welcome list. ☺
Other Things to Note
WiFi! There is WiFi set up in the home which you are free to use. However, with the range of devices that are out there, it works for some better than others. We have done all we can to provide this amenity other than getting a separate account and router just for the apartment. Which would cost us beaucoup bucks, and inherently raise the price of the space. Basically it should work, but we are always happy to help you trouble shoot it or look up something for you if needed.
Please be kind be respectful to our home, leaving things as nice as you found them.
Please be courteous to us as well as our neighbors in managing your noise level.
There is no smoking allowed in the house, but feel free to step out onto your patio to take a smoke break outside.
If you have a friend who is local to NOLA who will be stopping by at any point please just let us know. We do have a strict policy of no unapproved through AirBnb guests overnight.
We love renting on AirBnB, but please be aware and courteous to the fact that this is not a standard hotel room. It is a space that is a part of our home which we love. Meaning if you are looking for a party house, please look elsewhere.
Should you need or have a question about anything during your stay feel free to communicate with us.
This homey back of house apartment was very clean and certainly the most creative space I've stayed in on airbnb. My friend and I found it to be a bit smaller than we thought, but the main bedroom is beautiful and spacious. Amenities were taken care of and the tiny fridge even had a little icebox and icecube tray we could use for cocktails.
The place is a good walk from the heart of the French quarter. It took us about 25 minutes to walk to Cafe du Monde and 30 from the apartment to the theater where I worked. The hosts do provide bikes for use, but we usually had too much to haul around to use them. The area around the apartment was mostly residential but we found a few restaurants within a 15 minute walk that we really liked and returned to for more good food.
Our only real issue was the animals on and off the property. In addition to the two dogs in the front of house, we had a friend in the next backyard over who was sweet but pretty vocal. My friend and I used earplugs most nights and facemasks for the light, and one night we sought rest elsewhere to catch up on sleep. But if you're not a light sleeper, this is a nice charming find.
We had a very warm welcome from Molly and Prescott! The house is very characteristic and in a good position. Five minutes away from the bus which takes you towards the French Quarter one way and the City Park in the other. A really enjoyable holiday!
We loved staying here. Beautiful house in a lovely neighbourhood. Nice and quiet and a great way to explore NOLA outside of the quarter.
The place is even more spacious than it looks in the photos, and there is a lovely outdoor area to relax.
Molly and Prescott were friendly and wecolming, but also gave us space to enjoy our holiday.
Overall an excellent experience and we hope to stay again if we go back to NOLA.
the place was great! We had an awesome time. Everything was clean, comfortable and the house had great character. Molly and Prescott had really helpful recommendations for places to visit in the city. We'll definitely be back! Thanks so much!
Everything was completely, totally great - the snacks, the light in the bedroom, the New Orleans recommendations... Completely true to the description. So easy to get in and out, if felt private, but it was also nice to know M&P were just on the other side of the house in case we needed absolutely anything. The house is beautiful inside and out. The neighborhood is lovely and easily walkable. The bikes were are an added convenience. We would definitely stay here again.
Fabulous place! Super easy check-in and even more inviting in person. Close enough to the french quarter and a quick taxi ride away to the garden district. Would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a non-touristy spot to call home base while visiting NOLA.
Ok, first off, this place is adorable. It looks adorable in pictures, but it is somehow even more so in person. It comfortably slept my boyfriend and I, and my good friend, Jen! The ceilings are really high, and the temperature was always perfect (which seems hard to come by in New Orleans). Molly and Prescott (though I didn't get to meet them) were super sweet and left us delicious snacks and gave us some King Cake! The bikes were great, and, though they weren't fancy or anything, they were pretty well maintained and gave us a great way to explore the city! We didn't feel super safe walking back from the French Quarter at night, but that actually ended up being awesome, because it encouraged us to check out other parts of the city instead of just the touristy parts. Everything about this place was great, and Molly and Prescott were great hosts. Thanks, guys, for making our trip to New Orleans (a first for all three of us) really awesome!
We are a fun, young, newly married couple with two adorable dog named Reggie & Arrow and one also adorable, but more much more autonomous kitty named Meow Meows.
Molly is a full-time art teacher and a part-time painter, seamstress, and blogger. Prescott is a curator, exhibition designer, and art handler currently working with New Orleans' own Southern Food and Beverage Museum.
