Large, high-ceiling room in a 1920's Olympia WA home on 2 acres. Guest room has private use of the downstairs bathroom with shower. New queen sized bed.
Enjoy the bounty from our garden and chickens. You will have access to hot tub and living areas along with field and outdoor areas to explore. Our home is only 3 miles from hipster downtown Olympia and puget sound, but in a semi-rural area. Area attractions include a neighboring U-pick blueberry farm in season. There is a small neighborhood park within walking distance and several nearby larger city parks with nice hiking trails. A local bus line is available a half mile from our home.
Oly is located within 2 hours of Rainier and Olympic National Parks and the Pacific coast.Hosts Paul and Sara are engaged in the local Olympia community and can help direct you to activities, arts, and outdoor opportunities. We love to cook and make our own wine and ale among other items.
We have med/small Dog and a Cat, although they do not have regular access to the guest room.
Also, the dog although harmless does tend to greet newcomers wtih some wary barking so this may be a factor if you are not an animal lover.
We are friendly and engaging as well as busy. You are on you own with meals and have full run of the kitchen. We will invite you to join us for meals and gatherings when occurring.
Yes - a bus line nearby
While my visit was a short pass through to Portland it was lovely! Paul and Sarah were dear and gracious. Our dogs had a blast together and my dog Dorje didn't want to leave at all!. Farm fresh eggs were amazing!
Thanks so much.
This place is just lovely, inside and out, and Paul and Sarah are so welcoming, generous and laid back. I couldn't have asked for a nicer spot to get some quiet time to do a little writing. I am so glad I found the artful farmhouse, and I will be back.
I had an enjoyable stay at the Friendly Grove Artful farmhouse. Although I did not spend much time at the house, I enjoyed the hosts' hospitality and friendly conversations on Saturday and Sunday morning. I really liked having my own entrance to my room. So, I was able to come and go late without disturbing my hosts. The room was in a quiet setting, with a quiet house. And, being a dog lover, I found Vinnie the dog delightful.
Paul and Sarah were great hosts! Their home is gorgeous and full of fun things to look at. The location isn't too far from town and yet you feel as if you are in some distant land away from civilization. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay.
The Friendly Grove artful farmhouse was everything one could hope an air bnb would be: clean, attractive, interesting, quiet, and most welcoming. The bed was comfortable, the room beautiful, and the hosts made us feel completely at home. They are experienced airbnb hosts and thought of everything. Their home is truly artful. I particularly enjoyed seeing the stars at night in the skylight window above and the birds flying overhead in the morning. The guest room is huge, has lots of windows and light, and has a private entrance. This airbnb is so much more interesting and pleasant than any motel. No wonder they get five stars from their guests--if there were six stars, they'd rate six. We highly recommend this wonderful place.
I really enjoyed sharing the love of art with Paul and Sara. The place was clean and comfortable. I'd love to stay at their place again next time I'm in Olympia. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Paul and Sara, so much so, that I chose to go back. The second time was as enjoyable as the first.
Great spot, really generous hosts who helped us plan our PNW adventures. Beautiful garden and a super cute dog. Would love to stay here again.
The room was very comfy. The hosts made me feel right at home. I' definitely look them up again when I'm in the area. Thanks for the space.
Paul and Sara were very interesting and we enjoyed hearing about there life experiences. They have a lovely piece of property and had just finished a huge mosaic piece in their garden when we arrived.
We also really liked their animals -very sweet! The house is very eclectic, funky and artsy. The bed was a futon and not very comfortable and really small- we are 6' and 6'2'' so we just didn't fit. Paul was gracious enough to let us sleep in another room which really made a difference. The property is just out of town so it is a very pretty area ,but not too far out.
This place is not for everyone, it is definitely more laid back casual and funky. Nice, good, interesting, folks.
