  • This house is in an amaing location with a wonderful view to the sea. Waking up in the morning by the sound of the birds, taking a refreshing swim in the pool, relax on the terrace, watching tucans and parrots flying by... all I can say is just WOW!
Cliff was a wonderful and friendly host, I enjoyed his place very much and can recommend it to everyone who is seeking for an ideal combination of luxury accomodation and pure nature life.

  • The house is really nice but it is a bit off the main road (10-15 minutes). You will need a 4x4.

We spent a week with three kids (7, 4 and 2) and we were happy about it. We made different day trips with the car (Playa Hermosa and Dominical was the greatest in the area in my opinion).

A lot of birds to be seen from the terrace and a really nice view to wake up to. Groceries are plenty in Uvita (opt for the supermarket closer to the house).

It's in the jungle and there will be bugs. We had a bit of ants and some other guys around the house but overall the house was really nice and i would definitely recommend it .

Cliff helped us with some reservations and was generally a nice guy who made the stay easy.

They were repairing the road during our stay so it was actually in pretty good shape during the end of our stay.

  • I can only support other reviewers that the house and the place in overall is amazing. However, the state of the road should be indicated clearly in the description - the 4WD is not recommended, it is a MUST for this everyday journey of 4km to the main road and back 4km home. And do not forget mentioning frogs giving a loud performance in the pool every night! Some cover for the pool would be helpful, while the second night we managed to collect them out and to have a sleep.

  • Beautiful house in beautiful settings. Lovely pool and really nice ocean view. Cliff is a really nice guy who made sure everything was ok in a house. Highly recommended!

  • What an amazing view! We enjoyed our stay in this spacious house in the jungle. We saw toucans every morning and could hear the howler monkeys in the trees near the house. We were glad we had 4 wheel drive for the 15 minute drive up the hill to the house. Cliff was available and helpful both during and prior to our visit.

  • What a wonderful place! This was a our first trip to CR from the UK and we could not have imagined a better place to have found. Cliff and Ana gave us a very warm welcome and were always willing to help or answer questions. Their beach bar Bellena Beach Club was an excellent base to meet people and enjoy delicious food (especially the Sunday BBQ). If you like the idea of spending time in the Jungle and drinking in its sights and sounds you will not be disappointed. If you're looking for wild nightlife instead of wild jungle - head to Jacó!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The house has a nice view, comfortable beds, and good location. We will be back!

  • Excellent experience with Cliff and the house. The view is absolutely gorgeous since the house is up in the mountain but very close to the ocean. We saw a lot of wildlife not only from the balcony of the house, but on the drive up and down from the coastal highway. The house is roomy with nice big bathrooms and bedrooms. Spacious kitchen with full size appliances. Also, it was great to be able to have beautiful beach access at Cliff's beach club on Playa Ballena; his restaurant there - Villa Leonor is also super delicious and convenient after going to the beach. I actually enjoyed that the house was not right on the beach because there always seemed to be a nice cool breeze, we were surrounded by lush rain forest and serenity, and the view was wonderful. Cliff was a wonderful and friendly resource as well - he is very knowledgeable about the area and was happy to help us with booking boat tours, giving advice about where to drive or not, where to eat or shop, etc. We plan to return soon! Thanks Cliff!

  • Cliff is a very friendly host. The home was lovely with an amazing view! My husband and I enjoyed happy hour on the balcony and observing the wildlife around us!

    April 2013
  • We had an awesome time at Cliff's house on the hill! The house was roomy and well appointed, and Cliff was very friendly, easy to find down at the beach club, and very accommodating if we needed help or extra sheets, etc. The view from the deck was fabulous, and the promised toucans entertained us every morning. Though we did hear the howler monkeys, we never actually saw any swinging from branch to branch. While at first the long central staircase was a bit imposing for us with 2 kiddos under 3, we actually got used to it quite quickly. The pool (and accompanying hose for our 1 year old) was our favorite. Every morning and every evening we splashed about. Thanks Cliff!
