In the Heart of Costa Ballena, above Playa Ballena and overlooking the rock formations of Parque Nacional Marino Ballena (Ballena National Marine Park) is the Eco-Residencial Community of Perla Ballena, where this home is located.
The design is Two Master Suites, which open to terraces above the pool. The Main Living Level with kitchen & dining, outside salon and a third bath adjacent to an area with a futon which converts to the third bedroom with bath for sleeping accommodations.
Wake up for coffee or tea on the outside salon area to see Toucans cruising past or maybe a Pizote (raccon type animal) stealing papaya from the trees below the pool, as you look out over the Pacific to the Osa Peninsula and Isla del Cano in the distance. January to April and July to October you may see Humback Whales breaching in the waters off Playa Ballena (Whale Beach) You are surrounded by primary rainforest where Howler Monkeys or White Face Monkeys may be encountered at any time.
A private and gated road keeps the Perla Ballena Community secure and peaceful. Trails in the Private Preserve areas lead you to a waterfall and cascades, or just to enjoy the tranquility and sounds of the forest.
Included with your vacation rental is the use of our BALLENA BEACH CLUB facility, two pools, showers, parking for visiting Playa Ballena with full Restaurant and Bar service at Restaurante Villa Leonor.
Respectful care of the home is all that is expected.
Cliff's House is absolutely wonderful. My family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The ocean view is really nice, and to watch toucans gliding from tree to tree is sublime. Also saw those electric blue butterflies flying up the treeline. Howler monkeys can be heard sounding off at dawn and dusk. My kids loved swimming in the lap pool, and the in-laws loved the spacious kitchen. Access to the beach at Cliff's Restaurant is a major plus. Cliff himself was very welcoming and accommodating.
The house was great. We were four people and it was plenty of space. The view is georgous from the balcony, there is very nice pool and three full bathrooms. The house was even better than what we thought when we booked it. The only thing thing to know is that you need a 4X4 to get there because it is an unpaved road up the hill to get there from the main road (around 3.5 km). The location is great has it is between Ojochal and Uvita! Really recommended for people seeking a nature escape!
The house was really great. A bit off the main road, but wonderful nature and much bigger than you would expect from the outside. Wonderful view and a nice pool. We shared it with the frogs. ;-)
Cliff is a great host. Good communication. We recommend the food at the beach club as well, especially the fresh Tuna with wasabi was fantastic.
Excelente host excelente casa. Great host great house
This is a perfect house. A dream up in the mountain with a view of the ocean and the tropical forest.
Una casa soñada en la montaña con vista al mar y a la bosque tropical
We made a trip of 3 weeks in CR. The house was our favorite during our travel. Clean, well equiped kitchen, superbe view and surrounding.
Good location for daytrips (Cliff will help you to organize!). Good supply in supermarket in Uvita.
This house is in an amaing location with a wonderful view to the sea. Waking up in the morning by the sound of the birds, taking a refreshing swim in the pool, relax on the terrace, watching tucans and parrots flying by... all I can say is just WOW!
Cliff was a wonderful and friendly host, I enjoyed his place very much and can recommend it to everyone who is seeking for an ideal combination of luxury accomodation and pure nature life.
The house is really nice but it is a bit off the main road (10-15 minutes). You will need a 4x4.
We spent a week with three kids (7, 4 and 2) and we were happy about it. We made different day trips with the car (Playa Hermosa and Dominical was the greatest in the area in my opinion).
A lot of birds to be seen from the terrace and a really nice view to wake up to. Groceries are plenty in Uvita (opt for the supermarket closer to the house).
It's in the jungle and there will be bugs. We had a bit of ants and some other guys around the house but overall the house was really nice and i would definitely recommend it .
Cliff helped us with some reservations and was generally a nice guy who made the stay easy.
They were repairing the road during our stay so it was actually in pretty good shape during the end of our stay.
I have been in Ballena on the South Pacific Coast for 18 years, my wife, Ana is from the Ojochal & Tres Rios area just south of Ballena. The home offered is within a develpment I completed which is a true eco-residential community, with over 100 acres of primary forest & streams protected as a private preserve. Our business at Playa Ballena is Restaurante y Bar Villa Leonor at Ballena Beach Club which is a semi private beach facility to enjoy a comfortable day at the beach.
