2 words: heated floors. You could spend hundreds for a condo in Tahoe, or instead pay a fraction of that and live in luxury in Meredith's beautiful home. In addition to being a wonderful host, Meredith is a great source of local knowledge. I highly recommend staying with her if you are ever in Truckee!
I had a fantastic stay with Meredith and Lou and their entire family! I and two other guests whose stay overlapped with mine were truly made to feel at home and comfortable. This is probably not surprising, since they have hosted exchange students in the past. I felt like their home was an enjoyable experience in itself, rather than just a place to sleep. Lou even made an amazing meat ragu spaghetti meal one night. In terms of the actual home, everything was tidy, cozy, and as advertised. Meredith laid out clean towels, made space in the fridge for me, and I had full use of their kitchen to cook up breakfast every morning. There was a small functioning fireplace in the bedroom, as well as a jacuzzi outdoors - neither of which I or the other guests ended up using, but it was nice to have those perks. Parking was off-street and easy, and the location was very central. I head up often to Tahoe, and plan to stay with them again in the future!
The place is too nice to leave - after two days with Meredith, I decide to stay here for a little longer. It's absolutely the best experience I had from Airbnb!
Meredith and Lou are very nice host and their house is awesome. I think I had the best experience from Airbnb for staying here. I come here for snowboarding in Northstar and I definitely would like to come back again.
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Meredith and Lou were very welcoming and have a clean and comfortable home. They made muffins every morning and sent me home with some of a recent batch of homemade apple butter. I hope to stay again in the future.
This was by far my best airbnb experience. Meredith and Lou are great people and I enjoyed my stay a lot. We had some wonderful conversations and spent some time together, it was just lovely. The house and the green room are beautiful and perfectly clean. I will be back for sure, thanks a lot Meredith and Lou!

I recently retired form the fire service, after 30 years as a woman in very non traditional occupation. Adventurous and athletic, I'm interested in meeting interesting people and seeing new places. I've hosted 2 foreign exchange students for their US high school senior year, and found this to be a very rewarding experience. I have been a long standing member and patron of International youth hosteling. I consider myself very flexible and engaging. I'm in a very long term relationship with a wonderful man, who may be your contact when I am traveling. I have two spectacular off spring, who are both off on their own adventures, and now the large house in beautiful Truckee Ca is pretty empty. I've always wanted to open a hostel to host budget travelers, and now, thanks to airbnb, that might just be possible.
