About this listing
My cool, brand new, comfortable studio apartment with exposed wooden ceiling has a true Budapest feeling! It comfortably fits two (perfect for couples!) and is centrally located on a quiet building, just a mere two blocks from the Old Budapest City.
The studio has been recently renovated and consist of one room acting as a multifunctional area: living space, dinning on a small pull-out table or sleeping on top of the mezzanine... everything is carefully thought trough! There is a small kitchen with all the needed utensils for your stay (pans and pots, microwaves oven, kettle, coffee maker) as well as some basic supply of tea, coffee etc. The bathroom with Venetian shower is situated under the sleeping area.
A couple can sleep really comfortably, either on the cosy mezzanine or on the IKEA pull-out sofa. Check the pictures. In case it is needed, 4 people can also sleep at the studio, but you rather make sure you are really good friends ;)
Please, not that the building lacks a lift and it is located in a third floor
Interaction with Guests
I will personally meet the guests (unless I'm not in Budapest) on arrival to handover the apartment as well as give advise or answer any question related to the apartment, the area or Budapest in general
The studio apartment it is situated in an 100-year-old building (which unfortunately is pending some paint refreshment and lacking a lift) in the neighbourhood called the Palace Quarter, on a walking distance (5-10 minutes) to landmarks like Váci St (shopping street), the Nagycsarnok (Central Market Hall), National Museum or Synagogue. Ráday street or Miksath square pedestrian areas, perfect for dining al fresco or having a drink after strolling the city are reached in 2 minutes walk.
Public transport is available right on the front door, but probably you won't need it. Metro line connecting to the airport bus is under 200 meters: the cheapest way to reach the airport!
Other Things to Note
For those environmentally-concerned travellers, during the reconstruction, the biggest part of the debris was either re used (bricks, tiles), up-cycled (iron beams and trusses, pipes) or recycled. The rest was disposed according to the regulations. Construction materials were acquired locally favouring greener ones (low CO2 cement, PVC free pipes, etc)
Generally speaking, common sense and all the laws of thermodynamics apply. I'm not a smoker, but it doesn't annoy me. Unfortunately, other guest don't like this. Most of them, in fact, don't like the smell, so smoking is not allowed inside the studio. There is a terrace leading to the apartment which is perfect for that. Pets aren't allowed either.
Gerardo's apartment was beautiful and just what we was looking for! Gerardo even went out of his way to let us check in a little early and he was very helpful and contactable for anything we needed. The apartment is very clean and very well designed. The centre is just around the corner with a short walking distance of around 5 minutes, and easy access to taxis/metro to train stations. One advice would be to not just get in a taxi straight at the station as they over charged hugely to drop us at the apartment. The apartment is located near plenty of restaurants/cafes and bars and very close to points of interest. Overall Budapest is a beautiful city, I would highly Gerardo as a host and I would definitely stay again if I return :) thank you for a perfect stay
This is an excellent place to stay in Budapest, with restaurant and bars just 5 minutes away and the city centre around 10 minutes away. The apartment was very clean and accommodating. Thanks!
Gerardo ha sido en todo momento encantador, amable y cercano. Si le pedíamos alguna cosa al instante la tenemos. Un 10.
Very cool and clean apartment. Perfect for me and my girlfriend to explore Budapest from. The directions given to get there from the apartment were perfect, and made what could have been a stressful journey easy. Very clean, well designed and tidy, and a great location to explore from.
Gerardo is very easygoing person. The flat is little bit high for us with two very heavy luggages, but Gerardo and his friend help us to carried it. The building was very old but very interesting, we can hear someone play music at the morning. The flat is cosy, for our two girls is fit. Very close to the metro just 1 mint by walk. Nice stay. Thanks Gerardo
The second stay, the second really nice. When I come the 3rd time to Budapest I will definitely ask Gerardo for His apartament. Thank You for Your hospitability and I hope, see You soon.
