This cabin is very conveniently located as a base to explore the National Park. Walking distance to restaurants in pittoresque Volcano. The cabin has a very interesting history and is perfect for those that want to stay in a non-typical, historic yet comfortable place. If the Rit…

We had such a great stay in the log cabin! It is rustic, which is something that appeals to us! Our young adult sons were so happy to stay in a place like this, maybe because they only imagine this in a movie. They didn't want to leave.! The cabin is a perfect location in Volcano…

This place is amazing on so many levels. The History is apparent the moment you set foot in the door. We were so glad it cooled down enough one morning that we needed to light a fire.. breakfast and coffee looking out at the mossy yard and lush green plants in the rain was wonder…

This is a large, rustic cabin with a lot of character! Our kids (ages 5 & 8) absolutely loved the secret back door, the cool staircase and the moss lawn. We all slept upstairs and we were very comfortable (8 year old in one room, 5 year old on the futon and their parents in the…

Cynthia's Log Cabin was the perfect "base camp" for our family of four. It was surprisingly well stocked and the location is superb. We are so glad we stayed here and not all the way in Kona. We wanted to explore the park, and we did for 3 full days. Volcano Villiage is a nea…

Response from Cynthia:
Hi Moe, So happy you enjoyed the house! Only a bit sad that you didn't find the restaurant and activity info by the phone as there is a bunch in the holder there. As for communicating, I try to not bother my guests, but do offer my contact so that they can reach me if they need anything. Had I known you wished contact, I would have been there for you in a heartbeat! As for the dampness, the house is in the middle of a rain forest and I alert each guest of that fact, as you know. Loved your comment that it's not for those looking for luxury as that is Totally True! Just the opposite, this is an old house (115 years old!) made of all Logs, Trees!!! That is the charm of the house, is that it is NOT a luxury suite. Thanks for letting that be known as it's best that future guests don't have expectations beyond just what it is.... A Very Old Log Cabin in the Forest... Charming. Aloha!
